Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 215: Chapter 189: Surgery Successful! The Birth of a Legend

The locations were confirmed: the left lobe and the right anterior lobe.

Director Fu began by using clamps to sever the round ligament of the liver, then ligating and suturing the stump...

Next, he began to dissect the falciform ligament, the left and right coronary ligaments, and the left and right triangular ligaments...

As Director Fu operated, the observing doctors grew increasingly amazed by the formidable power of Wu Ting’s system.

With the large-scale model now at version 4.0, it featured a real-time recording and scoring system.

It recorded the chief surgeon’s actions and compared them to the system’s calculated optimal results, providing a score.

To the observers, it felt like the scoring feature in a karaoke game, evaluating the surgeon’s rhythm, force, and angle to provide a comprehensive assessment.

Watching the high degree of congruence between Director Fu’s actions and the system’s optimal results, the crowd couldn’t help but sigh in admiration.

They were filled with respect for Wu Ting’s team. This brand-new technology could truly raise a surgeon’s skill ceiling and drastically shorten a doctor’s learning curve.

”Impressive.”

The more Dean Chen watched, the more delighted he became, and the more he wanted to acquire this complete triple-assistance technology.

Next, with the system’s assistance, Director Fu smoothly completed the cutting and separation with the electric knife, the resection of the liver parenchyma, and the final closure.

The next step was for Director Shen Siyuan’s immune regulation therapy to take center stage.

However, to Dean Chen’s surprise, the one performing the immune regulation therapy was none other than Wu Ting.

’Director Shen handed it over to her own student with such confidence?’

Dean Chen hadn’t expected this at all.

The junior doctors from the Xianglin City team also found it hard to believe. Could it be that Director Shen was intentionally trying to boost her student’s reputation?

But hadn’t Director Shen just pioneered this immune regulation therapy? How could her student possibly perform it successfully?

The crucial part was that Director Fu and Director Shen Xiaofei had both tacitly agreed to it.

’Something’s not right.’

Dean Chen was, after all, more composed than his junior doctors. He reasoned that Wu Ting, the one who could command this triple-assistance technology, was certainly no amateur.

Dean Chen settled in to observe quietly.

Wu Ting then began his negative immune regulation therapy for hepatitis B-induced liver cirrhosis!

”This is... flow cytometry... using EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood to isolate mononuclear cells...”

”...using fluorescently labeled anti-CD3 and CD4 antibodies...”

”...negative regulation of TNF-α and the NK cell surface receptor NKG2A...”

”So that’s how the quantitative control is done, and how the immune function is so exquisitely regulated... Incredible.”

Only an expert of Dean Chen’s caliber could comprehend this sequence of procedures and the combination of instruments and equipment being used.

As for his junior doctors, they were completely lost. They wanted to challenge Wu Ting’s youth but couldn’t find an opening—because they didn’t understand any of it!

Under Wu Ting’s control, various precise indicators on the connected monitoring equipment began to change in real time...

Dean Chen stared excitedly at the monitoring data. As the surgery progressed, the effects of Wu Ting’s precise control gradually became apparent:

”SIGIRR expression is decreasing...”

”Negative feedback is leading to TLR4 activation...”

”It’s promoting a rise in the levels of the NK cell surface receptor NKG2A and pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6 and TNF-α...”

”Which is causing a decrease in anti-inflammatory cytokines like IFN-γ, IL-10, and IL-18...”

Dean Chen suddenly clapped his hands.

”It’s a success! Under this kind of regulation, immunosuppression has been achieved. From now on, the hepatitis B virus in the patient’s body has lost its mechanism for replication and pathogenesis, and the white blood cells will no longer attack the hepatocytes...”

”In principle, as long as this condition is stabilized, the patient’s active hepatitis B will be converted to a ’hepatitis B carrier’ state, and it will no longer affect liver function.”

”And if, down the line, we can develop a method to completely clear the hepatitis B virus, we’ll be able to cure primary liver cancer caused by hepatitis B for good!”

Dean Chen was completely enthralled.

Watching Shen Siyuan and her student in the operating room, he knew that the treatment of primary liver cancer caused by hepatitis B was about to undergo a revolutionary change.

He and his entire team were witnessing the birth of a legend.

After six full hours, the entire surgery came to a perfect conclusion.

All that remained was the prognosis and post-operative follow-up.

Given the patient’s current condition, a relapse was highly unlikely.

They just had to wait for time to pass to witness a true miracle.

With the surgery complete, all the doctors finally relaxed.

Over the video link, Dean Chen led his team in a sincere round of applause. Because the surgery was confidential...

...they could only wait for the next time—for the public release of a surgical video for the negative immune regulation therapy for hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis and the publication of the associated research paper!

”Director Shen, congratulations. You’ve taken a massive step forward in the field of completely curing primary liver cancer caused by hepatitis B.”

Dean Chen was filled with respect for the young female scholar.

Shen Siyuan chuckled. She was indeed proud, but the credit wasn’t hers. In front of everyone, Shen Siyuan revealed the truth.

”Dean Chen, Director Fu, Director Shen, everyone, the truth is... the true pioneer of this negative immune regulation therapy for hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis is my student, Wu Ting.”

”In fact, before the consultation that day, Wu Ting had already approached me and given me a preliminary diagram of the immune regulation mechanism!”

”I was rushing to the consultation, so I only gave it a hurried glance... Later, after you prompted me, Dean Chen, I foolishly assumed it was a flash of inspiration from all the journal articles I’d been frantically reading...”
