I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 441, Acting As If It’s Real

In the dense and thickly branched jungle, seven or eight people were moving forward, each carrying an extremely large Animal Hide Bag on their backs.

They were Qing Yan and the others from the Flame Dragon Tribe. They were on their first trip to the Spotted Deer Tribe after the rainy season.

Originally, they had planned to set out a few days earlier, but thinking that the rainy season had just ended and the other Tribe would need time to recuperate, they delayed for a few more days.

“Hurry up. We’re about to reach the Spotted Deer Tribe. We still need to quickly complete the mission given to us by the Shaman.” Qing Yan said seriously from the front.

For this trip, they had prepared very thoroughly, planning everything from the items they brought to their strategy.

Indeed, they were going to the Spotted Deer Tribe to ‘take people’. It might be a blunt way of saying it but they fully intend on only accepting those willing to voluntarily come with them. Otherwise, if they openly kidnapped others, the Spotted Deer Tribe would certainly object. So, for this mission, they had come up with a plan.

“Yes!” Xi Guo and the others nodded.

For some reason, they were all quite happy about this trip, even more so than before.

Perhaps it was because they had spent the rainy season in the comfort of the Flame Dragon Tribe, or maybe they were eager to see what the Spotted Deer Tribe looked like after the rainy season.

After all, the Flame Dragon Tribe had been minimally affected by the rainy season, but not all Tribes could be like them.

So, this was also a reason for their curiosity and excitement, but the most important thing was still their plan.

*Step step step…* After more than an hour, everyone arrived at the Spotted Deer Tribe. It was still the same as before, without much change. The only difference was that the soil had become very muddy, and trees had fallen everywhere, making it look as if the place had been ransacked.

They knew this was the typical scene after the rainy season; the Tribe simply had not had time to clean up yet.

“Wow. There are still so many people.” Xi Guo remarked, scanning the surroundings.

Today was the Spotted Deer Tribe’s first Market after the rainy season. Yet, so many people from various Tribes had still come.

Qing Yan and his group had deliberately timed their arrival for today, as their plan could only be executed when there were many people around.

“That’s exactly what we want, no? How else would we carry out our plan?” Shou Ya said.

“Let’s stick to the previous arrangement. I’ll go in to trade with them, and you all set up a stall outside and execute the Shaman’s plan.” Qing Yan solemnly said.

“Just go ahead with peace of mind, we’ll handle things out here and make sure everything goes smoothly,” Xi Guo said, patting his chest.

“Remember, this matter must be handled discreetly. Don’t let too many people discover our plan.” Qing Yan reminded them.

“Don’t worry, we know what to do.” Xi Guo said.

Qing Yan nodded and gave a few more reminders before heading in with linen and some other items.

*Step step step…* After seeing Qing Yan enter with two other Totem Warriors, Xi Guo began organising the remaining Totem Warriors to set up their stall.

As before, they laid a large Animal Hide on the ground and displayed their goods.

The other two Totem Warriors, Shou Ya and Da Gua, quietly slipped away to carry out Su Bai’s plan.

As usual, the items Xi Guo and his group displayed attracted a large crowd. These people were attracted to the ceramics and linen, each one so amazed they could not move their legs away from the stall.

Some had traded before, so they had already prepared dried meat for another trade.

The ceramics they had taken back were greatly admired by their Tribe’s Chieftain and Shaman, who specifically sent them to trade for more.

“There are more people this time than the last time…” Xi Guo murmured to himself, thinking that the Shaman’s plan would definitely succeed.

As he was muttering to himself, Shou Ya and Da Gua approached, pretending to be ordinary passersby.

This time, however, they were in a disguise. They had applied some substance on their faces and had wrapped Animal Hides around their heads. This was all to prevent them from being recognised.

After all, they had set up their stall here before, and if they were no in a disguise, they could easily be recognized, which would expose their plan.

“Where do these ceramics come from? Why do you always have so many?” Shou Ya deliberately asked.

“We’re from the Flame Dragon Tribe, a wonderful place.” Xi Guo praised.

“Where is the Flame Dragon Tribe? Does everyone there have these things?” Da Gua intentionally raised his voice.

They both spoke loudly, wanting the surrounding people to hear, which was essential for their plan to work.

“Of course. These things are commonplace in the Flame Dragon Tribe.” Xi Guo said with pride.

Although this was not true, he spoke with great sincerity, following Su Bai’s advice, ‘If you speak with enough conviction, no one will question you.’

“Really? If we go there, will we also have these things?” Shou Ya asked the crucial question.

As soon as he asked this, the observing crowd began to stir. In fact, since hearing Da Gua’s question and Xi Guo’s response, they had begun to grow restless.

This was the first time they had heard such information, and ceramics were something they had always desired.

Previously when they asked, the traders had refused to discuss it, but now they were suddenly talking, so naturally everyone was attentively listening to their conversation.

Seeing the crowd beginning to react, Da Gua added fuel to the fire. “Are you telling the truth?”

“Of course! As long as you become part of the Flame Dragon Tribe, you can all have these ceramics. That’s why I’m setting up a stall here.” Xi Guo’s expression was exceptionally serious.

When he said that, he did not even blink. His expression was so sincere that people believed it to be absolutely true.

“Is the Flame Dragon Tribe really as good as you say?” Da Gua raised doubts.

At this point, someone needed to express scepticism, otherwise, the dialogue between the two would seem staged.

Expressing doubt made it seem like they did not know each other, and that they were merely concerned, hence the scepticism.

“That’s right, you’re not con men trying to trick us, are you?” Shou Ya nodded in agreement.

“Whether you believe it or not is your business. I bring ceramics to trade with you every time. If I am deceiving you, why would I have so many ceramics each time?” Xi Guo suddenly countered with a question.

His counterquestion made sense to the surrounding people, especially those who had seen him before.
