I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 412, The Impact After Comparison

Night fell, and Flame Dragon Tribe was enveloped in a vast darkness, with the twinkling lights of fruit oil lamps beginning to shine.

The cement house in particular had the most fruit oil lamps, so even though night had arrived, it still appeared very bright.

Su Bai and the others sat around the table, preparing to eat their dinner, while Yu Ying was still finishing up in the kitchen.

Since Sha Lan and Yan Hua had moved to the third floor, they almost always ate their three meals in the cement house. They rarely returned to Yan Jiao or Sha Hong’s place. Waking up and going to the second floor for breakfast, and before sleeping at night, they would also go to the second floor for dinner.

“Shaman, I heard we’re eating Wheat tonight?” Yan Hua asked.

She had seen the Wheat in the living room when she returned from training and only learned about it after asking Yu Ying.

“I can’t believe Wheat could be harvested so quickly,” Sha Lan exclaimed in surprise.

She remembered that just a few days ago it was still lush and green, how could it have turned golden yellow now? It was truly incredible.

“I have Shaman Technique, have you all forgotten?” Su Bai smiled, truly grateful for obtaining this great gift from the System.

He had already begun to anticipate next month’s Assistance Package, wondering what Mid Grade Assistance would be revealed next time.

There were many Mid Grade Assistance gifts he wanted, naturally something that would benefit the Tribe would be best.

“That’s true. Those sweet potatoes also look like they can be harvested, they grow so fast,” Sha Lan had also frequently visited the greenhouse. She found that the sweet potatoes planted just a short while ago now had green vines spreading everywhere.

“Shaman, at this rate, there won’t be enough space to plant more crops in the greenhouse…” Yan Hua said.

The herbs planted earlier had mostly been harvested, and the grapevines had begun to slowly climb up the wooden frames in the greenhouse, looking lush and green.

The interior of the greenhouse was different from before. Previously, looking around, there was nothing much to see, just black soil. Now, looking around, everything was a lush green. It truly looked like a greenhouse, although there were not that many varieties in it.

“When the rainy season stops, we can build more greenhouses. When the snow season arrives, everyone in the Tribe will be able to eat vegetables.” Su Bai said.

His original plan was to ensure that everyone in the Tribe could eat vegetables; this was the most fundamental purpose of farming.

However, growing vegetables properly in this era was not possible in the current season – either the rainy season or the snow season would cause the vegetables to be unable to grow.

Everything had to wait until after this period passed, and only then could they properly cultivate the land to grow vegetables.

“But Shaman, we don’t have that many seeds,” Sha Lan asked puzzlingly.

Currently, they only had what was planted in the greenhouse, and there were no extra seeds or plants.

“After the harvest, we’ll have seeds. Don’t worry about that.” Su Bai said.

For Wheat, they just needed to save some. For sweet potatoes, the leafy stems would suffice. As for potatoes, grapes, and tomatoes, it was even simpler – one could use many small potatoes or cut them into many pieces. One could also use vines, and tomatoes could be planted using the seeds inside.

Sha Lan nodded thoughtfully and said, “So that’s how it works. I thought once we ate them, there would be none left.”

*Splash…* Co Co poured a glass of water and earnestly said, “Shaman, I’ve completed all the experiments you taught me, and they were all successful.”

Co Co had been delving into experiments recently, not just in chemistry, but also showing interest in nature and herbs. She often took various minerals and began experimenting, grinding them into powder to observe, or burning them, adding water, and performing a series of operations.

Although Su Bai did not understand what she was doing, as long as she found it interesting or useful, she could continue.

After all, many experiments were like this, figured out bit by bit through trial and error.

“Good, then continue with your experiments. If there’s anything you don’t understand, come and ask me.” Su Bai said.

Co Co’s tireless efforts recently had made him view her with new respect. Although many of her efforts might be in vain, the fact that she was willing – no, eager – to try was a good thing.

After all, many times, discoveries were made through gradual exploration, and besides, he had no use for those leftovers.

He also did not quite understand some of the chemical reagents provided by the System. Since that was the case, he might as well let the girl slowly explore.

Besides, he would not understand in the short term anyway. Experimenting by himself would take a long time. If she could do it in his place, that would be best.

At this moment, he somewhat regretted why his chemistry knowledge was so mediocre; otherwise, he could have taught her properly.

*Step step step…* Yu Ying brought out five bowls of Wheat porridge on a tray, then returned to the kitchen for a plate of stir-fried tomatoes with eggs, spicy stir-fried meat, fried mushrooms, and cold dressed wood ear mushrooms.

Recently, their meals had been this sumptuous. Since they had more produce from the greenhouse and more foraged ingredients from the forest, their diet had gradually improved.

Most importantly, Yu Ying loved learning to cook and wanted to try out every new ingredient.

It was precisely because of this that their daily meals were so plentiful, incomparably better than what they ate initially. Now, the entire table of food somewhat surprised the girls. Although it was not the first time they had eaten such meals, suddenly seeing so many dishes on the table, and thinking back to when they could only eat meat for every meal… The contrast between the two was just too stark. It left them momentarily unable to react.

“Try the Wheat porridge, it’s very good.” Su Bai was the first to pick up a bowl.

It had been too long since he had Wheat porridge.

Being able to obtain Wheat in a Primitive Tribe and now being able to eat Wheat porridge was simply too fortunate.

The girls only dared to pick up their bowls and start drinking after the Shaman had picked up his bowl first.

Yan Hua had just taken a small sip when her red eyes widened, and she exclaimed in shock, “This is so delicious!”

The taste of the Wheat porridge had completely stunned her. The soft, glutinous, and sweet taste was simply too captivating. They played on her tongue, making it ask for more. Each spoon was like a sip into Heaven.

“It really is delicious. Is this what Wheat tastes like?” Sha Lan was also full of surprise, not expecting that the long-awaited Wheat would taste so good.

Yu Ying enjoyed it so much that her pink eyes narrowed as she exclaimed, “The food the Shaman regularly eats is too delicious.”

The girls were completely captivated by the delicious Wheat porridge and finished it all in a few gulps.
