I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 435, How to Choose Between the Two?

Translator: Silavin

*Rustle rustle rustle…* Kai and the other three people continued to make their way through the dense jungle, heading back to the Giant Bear Tribe.

They had already been away from the Flame Dragon Tribe for several days, and now their only thought was to quickly return to their Tribe.

Because they had been away from the Tribe for too many days, the people in the Tribe must be very worried. They might even think that they had died under the claws of some Ferocious Beast, and probably had given up hope for them.

After all, they had suddenly disappeared for such a long time, when they had originally agreed to return in about ten days.

“I really want to get back to the Tribe as soon as I can. I wonder how things are now?” Lan said, looking up at the azure blue sky.

It had been raining continuously for more than a month, and she had not seen this beautiful blue sky for too long. It felt great to be able to see it now.

She could not help but wonder what she would be like now if they had not reached the Flame Dragon Tribe and been taken in by them.

In all likelihood, she would not have survived, either dying in the rain or in the mouth of some Ferocious Beast.

After all, they were not Totem Warriors, and had no ability to resist those fierce Ferocious Beasts. If they encountered one, they would only face certain death, with no ability to fight back.

Although they trained with great intensity every day, when actually faced against a Ferocious Beasts, death was pretty much inevitable.

“They won’t think we’re already dead, will they?” Luo suddenly spoke up.

This was what the chubby boy worried about most, what if the people in the Tribe all thought they were already dead?

Generally, when someone in the Tribe passed away, they would erect a stone tablet for them.

This stone tablet was used to commemorate them, though it would not have a name on it.

Only those who had truly contributed to the Tribe, or Totem Warriors who died, would have their names on a stone tablet.

This was to make the people of the Tribe remember them, that their deaths were glorious and worth commemorating.

If Luo and the others were determined to have died, a few unremarkable stone tablets would be erected, since they were not Totem Warriors.

Although they were Warrior Trainees, they had not made any contribution to the Tribe, and this time, they had gone out for training. So, even if they died this time, they would not be able to get stone tablets with their names on it.

This was a truly tragic thing for Warriors. Which Warrior would be willing to not be remembered by their people? Which Warrior would be willing to live an unremarkable life? Everyone wanted to be remembered by the entire Tribe, which brought them glory.

So for Warriors, having stone tablets with their own names after death was the greatest honour.

Luo and the others were no exception. They also hoped that if they really died, their names would be on the stone tablets.

“Very likely. After all, we’ve been gone from the Tribe for so long, it’s normal to think we’re dead.” Li calmly said.

Li did not care as much. As long as she could get back to the Tribe, that was better than anything else. All those other things were unimportant to her. As for stone tablets with, or without names, they would all be destroyed one day, and they world would move on as always.

“That’s true. With no news from us for so long, plus it being the rainy season, it’s not surprising if they think we’re dead.” Kai nodded.

His thought process was quite thorough. Besides, things would be different once they returned to the Tribe. Most importantly, they had brought back an amazing item.

The ceramic they were bringing back would certainly astonish those of the Giant Bear Tribe.

This thing was truly amazing. They had been taking it out to look at throughout their journey back.

Not just once every few days, but almost every day, even during periods of rest.

Every time they took it out to look at, they would marvel and then make another round of guesses.

Besides appreciating it, they would also check if there were any problems with the ceramic.

After all, when they were leaving, they had been repeatedly instructed that it must be well taken care of.

They were told that ceramics were very fragile and must not be bumped or knocked, and that they must protect it as they would their own lives.

So, the four of them had been very nervous and worried along the way. They were nervous about something happening to the ceramic, and worried about whether the ceramic could be safely delivered to the Giant Bear Tribe.

If the ceramic could not be safely delivered to the Giant Bear Tribe, they would certainly be criticized.

Not because the ceramic got broken, but because they had been gone for so long without any news.

If the ceramic could be safely delivered to the Giant Bear Tribe, they would certainly be praised.

After all, the ceramics in the other Tribe were too amazing to them. Such an item existing would surely astonish the people of the Tribe. At that time, those of the Tribe would not blame them for suddenly disappearing for more than a month. In fact, all attention would be focused on the ceramic.

Originally, their purpose for leaving the Tribe was to find better trading opportunities for the Giant Bear Tribe. If possible, find things for cheap that could be traded for.

After all, if they trade goods in the market, like the Spotted Deer Market, there would definitely be middlemen profiting from the difference.

So, during this time Kai and the others went out for training, they were trying to find better and more direct trade routes for the Tribe – to conserve their Tribe’s resources.

“I wonder how the Shaman and the Chieftain will react when they see this ceramic? Will they be willing to use Sweet Grains to trade with those of the Flame Dragon Tribe?” Lan curiously asked.

To her, Sweet Grains were indeed delicious, but there were not too many of them. However, the ceramics were so beautiful. Both were previous in her eyes, and it was hard to part with either of them.

If she had to choose, it would definitely be difficult to decide, as both were amazing.

“I think Father will establish trade with the Flame Dragon Tribe, after all, the Flame Dragon Tribe wants not only Sweet Grains but also dried meat.” said Kai.

Although the quantity of Sweet Grains was not large, it was not non-existent. Compared to ceramics, the latter were much rarer.

“No need to guess, we’ll know everything when we get back to the Tribe. Let’s hurry up,” Li coldly said from the side.

It was morning now, and they needed to travel for another half day. By evening, they would finally reach the Giant Bear Tribe.

Although this half day was not long, there were still many dangers along the way.

There would also be many unknown Ferocious Beasts appearing. They needed to protect both themselves and the safety of the ceramic.

They were almost at the Tribe now. If something happened to the ceramic by accident, they would be devastated beyond words.
