I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 417, New Mid Grade Assistance

Su Bai stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, enjoying the long-absent sunlight with great delight. It had been quite some time since he had seen such pleasant sunshine.

After more than a month of rainy days, he felt as if he was about to grow mould. Although those rainy days were great for sleep, having sunshine was ultimately much better.

If the rain had continued any longer, he feared his entire mood would have deteriorated. It had been too long since he had smelled the fragrance of sunshine.

[System, check in and open the Assistance Package.] Su Bai quickly checked in while Yu Ying was absent.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes, first stunned for a moment before understanding what was being said. [Well, according to the timeline, it is indeed time to receive a Mid Grade Assistance Package, right?]

However, this Assistance Package confused him somewhat. [Finger Gun? Could it be that Finger Gun?]

[System, what does this Assistance Package do?] Su Bai directly questioned the System in his mind.

He wanted to confirm if the Assistance Package was the same as what he imagined. If it was, that would be extremely exciting.

The System’s cold mechanical voice responded.

[Are you kidding me? It’s just as I imagined. So, my finger fires bullets now?] Su Bai continued to ask for confirmation.

The System explained further.

Su Bai nodded with satisfaction; this explanation did not differ much from his imagination. He composed his expression and continued asking. [In that case, how do I use Finger Gun?]

Although this Assistance Package was quite impressive, he still needed to clarify if there were any limitations, and what the usage method was.

The System’s mechanical voice continued.

Su Bai raised his eyebrows slightly, surprised it was so simple, and continued asking: [Are there any limitations on the number of times Finger Gun can be used?]

If he could only fire once or twice a day, it would not be as useful as he had hoped. But, if he could fire continuously without interruption throughout the day, then this Skill would be absolutely amazing.

The System’s mechanical voice continued.

[Only five times per day? Well, better than one or two.] Su Bai thought to himself, at least it was not the worst-case scenario he had thought of.

He raised his hand to form the gun shape but stopped immediately, realizing it was not appropriate to test this in the living room.

[Do I just need to form the gun shape with my hand to use Finger Gun? What if I do it accidentally?] Su Bai continued asking.

The System explained.

“Okay,” Su Bai nodded lightly. [I need to properly test this out.]

With this in mind, he turned to leave the house, wanting to find an open space to experiment.

Additionally, since he had not seen the sun for such a long time, going out now would also serve as a nice walk.

*Step step step…* Su Bai stepped out of the house, instructing the Warrior Trainees not to follow him. He took advantage of Yu Ying’s absence at the greenhouse. Otherwise, she would certainly have accompanied him.

An hour later, he arrived at a relatively spacious location in the forest, ready to thoroughly test Finger Gun.

When leaving the Tribe, many people wanted to follow him, but he strictly prevented them from doing so.

If he had not been firm, those people would definitely have insisted on following, although their intentions were for his safety.

But for this experiment, it was better to be alone, as this Assistance Package differed from previous ones. The previous packages could be explained away as Shaman Technique, but this one would be somewhat difficult to explain.

Upon reaching the open area, he surveyed his surroundings, and finding no one present, extended his hand forward.

Su Bai formed his hand into the gun shape, aiming at a tree, and mentally commanded Finger Gun to fire.

*Bang!* A crisp sound emanated from his fingers as a pale golden beam burst forth from his fingertip. The pale golden beam advanced straight toward the tree, and in less than the blink of an eye, it created an indentation in the tree.

The indentation was very deep, and the area around it continuously emitted wisps of smoke.

“I didn’t expect the power to be so great,” Su Bai’s fingertip still trailed a bit of smoke.

*Step step step…* He stepped toward the tree, wanting to see how deep the indentation was to confirm its true power.

“So deep, yet not many traces are left behind.” Su Bai reached out to touch the indentation.

He found that apart from some slight charring around the indentation, no other residue remained.

He had thought the pale golden beam would be something similar to a bullet, but it turned out to be purely a beam of light.

“Interesting…” Su Bai’s lips curved into a perfect arc; he truly loved this Skill.

…

Although he had not become a Totem Warrior yet, he now possessed such a life-saving Skill.

This Skill could eliminate enemies before they even approached, resolving threats invisibly.

However, it was limited to dealing with only one or two people. If there were too many, it would be ineffective. After all, when facing just one or two people, if one or two shots missed, there would still be three more attempts. But with more people, it would be difficult to guarantee success.

Although this Skill could not be considered an absolute killing move, it was more than sufficient as a life-saving trump card.

With this in mind, Su Bai again extended his hand in the gun shape, aiming at a rock.

He wondered, since the penetrative power against trees was so strong, how would it fare against stone?

*Bang!* As the gun-like sound rang out again, a deep indentation also appeared in the distant rock.

The area around the indentation continued to emit faint wisps of smoke, and although the depth was not as great as in the tree trunk, it was still considerable.

“Since it can penetrate stone this deeply, Human bodies would offer absolutely no resistance against it…” Su Bai muttered.

With Finger Gun’s power, able to penetrate so deep into stone, how could the fragile Human body not be instantly penetrated by it?

He nodded with satisfaction and continued searching for the next target, intending to use all five shots within this day.
