I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 433, The Most Important Thing is the Horse

The hot air balloon continued to ascend, with the apprentice constantly controlling the flame to prevent any problems.

As the hot air balloon flew higher and higher, the scenery below grew smaller and smaller, from being clearly visible at the beginning to only seeing a rough outline later.

“Shaman, the hot air balloon is getting higher and higher,” Yu Ying remarked.

At this point, she was no longer afraid. Initially, when the hot air balloon first began to rise, she was terrified. But with Su Bai’s reassurance, she had gradually adapted and the beautiful scenery below provided her with comfort.

“Our Tribe is beginning to look so small,” Yan Hua’s red eyes kept watching below.

Yan Hya found this to be truly amazing. She never imagined that some Animal Hides, a basket, and flames could allow her to fly into the sky.

Although the hot air balloon was flying higher and higher, the sense of awe remained constant.

“The world is so vast. Why didn’t I feel this way when walking before?” Sha Lan marvelled.

Sha Lan looked out and found that she could not see the edge of the land, with greenery spreading everywhere.

“I wonder if we can see the Hunting Ground from here?” Ai’er suddenly said, her purple eyes constantly looking in the direction of the Hunting Ground.

“Probably not. I think we need to fly higher,” Cheng Shi said.

Although they rarely flew at this height, they had reached this altitude before. They simply had not tried going any higher, because flying up so high was tiring, and if they needed to descend, it could be dangerous.

“Shaman, quickly look, we still can’t see the edge of that big river.” Yan Hua suddenly pointed to the large river in front of the Tribe.

Since they had taken off, Yan Hua had been observing that river, because her Father had told her that the river was so wide that one could not see its edge.

Now that she was up so high in the sky, her first thought was to see just how wide that river actually was.

“It’s normal that we can’t see it from this height. We need to fly up even higher.” Su Bai calmly said.

They were not particularly high up. At most, they were about the height of a normal skyscraper.

At this height, it was still difficult to see the other side of the river as wide as this one. After all, this river was truly too wide. Since those of the Primitive Tribe had lived here for so long and still did bit know the width of this river, it must truly be wide.

After all, there were also people with wings in the Tribe. If even they could not see the other side of the river, it meant that the river was extremely wide.

Since the current height of the hot air balloon was what Cheng Shi and Ai’er could normally reach, it meant they were not high enough.

“Shaman, can we fly a bit higher?” Yan Hua asked.

From her perspective, being able to fly this high for the first time was already very, very high. As for how much higher they could fly, she did not know, only wondering if the hot air balloon could withstand such heights.

“Of course, we can fly higher for a while. Let’s fly up and see.” Su Bai smiled.

The current height was far from satisfactory to him, as his field of vision was still limited.

What he most wanted to see now was what the entire continent looked like. Although he knew he could not do it now, being able to see the area around the Tribe would be a great consolation prize.

After all, to develop the Tribe properly, he first needed to understand the surrounding environment. Besides the big river, what he most wanted to know was the environment around the Tribe. He wanted to see if there were other Tribes nearby, or rivers, lakes, and other features like fruit forests, places with many animals, or mountains with minerals.

“Yay!” Yan Hua celebrated.

“Shaman, can the hot air balloon reach the Hunting Ground?” Sha Lan suddenly asked. This was the question she most wanted to ask.

Since the Hunting Ground was said to be far from the Tribe, and the journey from the Tribe to that place was fraught with danger, if they could reach there with this hot air balloon, wouldn’t that solve many problems?

Then, they could use the hot air balloon to transport their prey, which makes the hot air balloon even more useful. If they could, Totem Warriors would not need to make return trips each time they wanted to deliver the prey back. They could just have them hunt and then use the hot air balloon to make several trips to transport everything back.

This way, the Totem Warriors would only need to go to the Hunting Ground once and stay for longer, and then they could return without returning to the Hunting Ground for a long time.

Currently, they could not make as many trips to the Hunting Ground because of limited manpower, and the amount of prey they could carry was also limited.

But if they had the hot air balloon, all these problems would be solved.

“It needs to be tested first, but it’s not impossible. I know what you’re thinking,” Su Bai admired Sha Lan’s insight.

He certainly knew what she was thinking. After all, he had thought of this himself. That was why he was so eager to create the hot air balloon. After personally visiting the Hunting Ground, this idea had become even more concrete.

He had experienced the hardships of the Totem Warriors and knew how difficult it was to obtain food for the Tribe. But if the hot air balloon experiment was successful, all these difficulties could become easier.

“If the experiment succeeds, that would be great,” Sha Lan smiled, because she wanted to visit the Hunting Ground again.

Sha Lan found the charm of the Hunting Ground overwhelming; with all kinds of animals and plants she had never seen before.

“Does this mean I can go there often?” Yan Hua also thought of this immediately.

Yan Hua did not even need to say anything; going out to hunt had always been her dream. If traveling to and from the Hunting Ground became simpler, she would practically live there.

“If the experiment succeeds, going there will be easier.” Su Bai smiled.

To be honest, he also wanted to go there again, as they had not fully explored the area yet. There were too many unknown creatures and plants there. He really wanted to know what role these could play in the development of the Tribe.

The key point was that they had not found horses yet. If the hot air balloon could fly over to the Hunting Ground, he would definitely Tame a batch of horses to bring back.

Because for the Tribe to develop, horses were essential. They were not only for creating a cavalry unit but for transportation as well. Since, making cars would be impossible at this point.

However, horse-drawn carriages would be easy; the biggest obstacle was simply not having horses. Using cattle would be hard as they move very slowly, incomparable to horses.

“Great!” Yan Hua happily exclaimed.
