I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 421, The Time to Demonstrate Strength Has Come

Translator: Silavin

The men and women of the Flame Dragon Tribe dressed themselves up and began to advance into the forest.

They were preparing to head to the plateau, which was a full half-day’s distance from the Tribe.

Other Tribes would set out earlier because they were furthest from there; only the Flame Dragon Tribe was closest to the plateau.

All at once, the forest was filled with many elaborately dressed men and women, each looking like peacocks in mating season, everyone competing to outshine each other.

No one wanted to look bad at the annual Pink Flower Festival, so everyone was extraordinarily well-dressed.

Since the rain season had just ended, many Ferocious Beasts in the forest had not yet returned, and many had not yet reacted to the changes. Therefore, they could enter the Wilderness without worrying about anything happening, and there was no need for Totem Warriors to accompany them.

Since the rain season had just passed, the entire forest was still full of mushrooms and permeated with the scent of mildew. Because the wood and soil in the forest had been thoroughly soaked by rainwater, there was a very strong odour.

*Step step step…* Several hours passed, and the men and women of the Flame Dragon Tribe arrived at the plateau.

At this moment, the plateau was covered with Plateau Pink Flowers. Looking out, everything was pink, extraordinarily beautiful.

It was as if the earth had been covered with a layer of pink silk, specially prepared to welcome the Pink Flower Festival.

The fragrance emitted by the Plateau Pink Flowers was particularly pleasant, and the entire valley was filled with a light, sweet scent.

The people of the Flame Dragon Tribe had not yet entered the plateau when they heard laughter coming from within.

That kind of giggling laughter was the sound of young and lively voices, both male and female.

The men from the Flame Dragon Tribe all had excited smiles on their faces. They exchanged glances with each other and walked straight into the plateau.

The girls, on the other hand, were more shy. They looked at each other, their faces turning slightly red as they began to walk in.

*Step step step…*

When the people of the Flame Dragon Tribe walked in, they found that the plateau was already gathering many people. Everyone was dressed in various styles, and the characteristics of each Tribe were very distinct. One glance could tell which Tribe they belonged to.

During the Pink Flower Festival, no Tribe was hostile to any other; all were peaceful on this day.

No matter how much one disliked the other party, one could not initiate conflict with them. They just needed to avoid that Tribe and not marry into it or take a girl from that Tribe.

At this moment on the plateau, the girls were blooming like flowers, each with their own characteristics.

They were no longer dishevelled; before, they had messy hair and were covered in dirt and dust, looking dirty.

Now they all revealed their Wheat-coloured skin, looking very healthy.

Their Animal Hide was very clean, and they wore necklaces made of Beast Bone on their necks, hands, and feet.

Their heads were also adorned with many bird and beast feathers of various colours.

Some even had fresh flowers in their hair and carried some in their hands. Combined with their clean Animal Hide, they looked very presentable.

It could be said that attending the Pink Flower Festival was when they looked their most beautiful, because on this day, everyone would bathe.

Whether water was plentiful or not, it was the same, because today they had to be clean and tidy to attract others.

Since these women lived in Primitive Tribes and had to work every day without enjoying comfort, their figures looked very slender and athletic, which, combined with their fair skin, made them very beautiful.

They wore Animal Hide skirts on their lower bodies and Animal Hide chest wraps on their upper bodies, revealing their flat midsections with slight abdominal definition.

Some more flirtatious girls would also hang a circle of Beast Bone necklaces around their waists, representing both status and beauty.

They were all adorned with necklaces, and as they walked, the Beast Bone necklaces collided with each other, making crisp sounds.

Those crisp sounds, together with the girls’ laughter and their graceful figures, were perfectly complementary.

The men were all stunned; this was the most visually pleasing moment of the year for them.

Usually, they only focused on work or only saw people from their own Tribe, which they had long grown tired of. Now, being able to see people from other Tribes for a change was quite the feast.

They all huddled together, discussing which Tribe’s girls were more beautiful.

“Did you see? That girl from that Tribe is really beautiful.”

“No, no, no, I think that girl from that Tribe is more beautiful.”

“I think they’re all fine, all pretty; I’d be happy with any one of them.”

“Look at yourself, you really have no ambition at all.”

“…”

Their voices were incessant. After chatting, they began to walk toward the higher part of the plateau.

Because more people were gathered there, and the girls they had their eyes on were also in that vicinity.

*Step step step…* As they walked up, they all maintained a straight posture to better display their masculinity.

Some girls from the Tribes were not shy at all. They opened their eyes wide to look at the men. They wanted to carefully assess what their future Husbands might look like, how strong their Tribes were, and so on.

The people of the Flame Dragon Tribe arrived at a location and settled down, beginning to set up their Teepees.

They started to take out the food they had brought, while others began to build fire pits.

That was right, they were preparing to roast meat, in order to demonstrate the strong capabilities of the Flame Dragon Tribe to the other Tribes.

The reason for doing this was also to attract the attention of the girls, as girls considered whether the others’ Tribe was strong or not, and whether they would starve after marrying into it.

The girls from the Flame Dragon Tribe, however, began to go out for a stroll. They did not need to stay behind to cook.

On the contrary, they wanted to see what other Tribes were cooking, because they were also choosing potential partners.

They also wanted to see how strong the other Tribes were. After all, they were living well in the Flame Dragon Tribe with meat to eat every day and different foods; why would they want to marry into another Tribe and go hungry? They were neither willing nor foolish.

“Hahaha…” The laughter on the plateau was continuous, mostly from the girls.

Why? Because this was when they had more free time. Several of them would gather together and start joking or observing others.

The men of the Tribes, however, had no such leisure. They needed to start displaying the things they had brought.

They also needed to roast meat on the fire pit and let the aroma spread to attract the girls.

At this moment, the plateau could not be more lively, with young men and women everywhere, complemented by the Plateau Pink Flowers covering the ground, creating an extraordinarily vibrant scene.
