I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 420, Last-Minute Cramming

Due to the arrival of the Pink Flower Festival, the entire Flame Dragon Tribe was emitting a different atmosphere.

It was no longer the gloomy appearance of the rainy season, but instead welcomed a lively and cheerful ambiance.

Throughout the Flame Dragon Tribe, laughter could be heard everywhere, as well as the sounds of whispers.

“Come over quickly, don’t waste time, the earlier we go the better.”

“Did you bring your things? You can’t go empty-handed and let others laugh at you.”

“Are your Mother and Father willing to let you go? It would be funny if they don’t allow you to go later.”

“You still look good. The rainy season did not change your appearance in the slightest. Don’t worry so much.”

“Hurry up, hurry up, let’s go find them, they’re already waiting for us.”

“…”

All kinds of discussions and laughter were heard everywhere, and everyone looked very happy.

At this time, many young women would visit their best friends’ homes, wanting to ask if their friends wanted to go together.

They wanted their friends to accompany them, to see what kind of person they might marry in the future.

Some were unwilling to go, but their Father and Mother forced them to go, so they had to find good friends to think of a solution. Otherwise, some people already had someone they liked, and this festival was a good opportunity to reveal their feelings to that person.

If not, their beloved person might attend the Pink Flower Festival, and if that person found someone else they liked, they would have even less of a chance.

Those who did not dare to speak up normally found this the best opportunity to reveal their feelings.

At once, all the men and women in the Tribe came out to socialize; some went to find friends, while others began to dress up.

After all, it was the annual ‘blind date festival’, and they had high standards for their appearance.

*Step step step…*

People in the Tribe were already so happy that they started running around, while others began to borrow things from other households.

After all, it was the annual Pink Flower Festival. Naturally, the young men also wanted to show their best during this important festival.

They wanted to borrow dried meat from other people’s homes, or collect Animal Hide and animal horns, etc. Some would even bring fine stone tools and Beast Bone, as well as things they made by hand.

No young man did not want to show off his strengths at this festival and make a strong impression.

Boys, whether on Earth or in this era, always had the natural inclination to show off. No one wanted to be outdone by others. If they did not meet someone they liked, it would not matter, but if they met someone they liked and were outdone, it would truly be embarrassing.

This was also one of the considerations for those girls when making their selection. After all, they did not want to marry and ended up eating poorly and sleeping poorly.

If they could see that the other party’s strength was good, then marrying them would be more secure. This was also a priority in their selection.

The girls in the Tribe were different; everyone began to dress up, making their attire as gorgeous as possible.

Of course, to be truly gorgeous was not possible; they just looked somewhat better than usual.

Normally, they might only wear Animal Hide, but because of this festival, they would add many things to their bodies.

For example, various bird and beast feathers, necklaces made of wild beast teeth, or wearing fresh flowers on their heads. Basically, they were doing everything possible to make themselves look better.

Their entire appearance looked very different from usual. Those who did not like to bathe would also take a thorough bath today.

They did not want to have an odour on their bodies that would make the men retreat when they came close and smelled it.

Su Bai stood at the floor-to-ceiling window looking down and said with a smile. “What a beautiful and interesting festival.”

He saw that everyone was dressed up lavishly, very different from usual.

The smiles on everyone’s faces also looked happier, and everyone appeared busier than usual.

Some men even wanted to exercise at this moment, trying to cram at the last minute, to see if their Physique could look better. Though, this desperation would be futile as muscles do not grow in a single day.

All at once, throughout the Tribe, there were people dressing up everywhere, gathering to chat, and exercising on the ground, all kinds of people.

“Yes, this is an annual festival, they will definitely take it very seriously.” Yu Ying also nodded.

Yu Ying had thought about this festival before, thinking that her future husband would definitely be found at the Pink Flower Festival. For this reason, she had looked forward to this festival in the past, also wondering what to do when she was of age.

But since Su Bai appeared, such thoughts had never occurred to her again. In fact, she no longer wanted to go.

Wholeheartedly, she only wanted to stay in the Flame Dragon Tribe, and even more, she only wanted to stay by the Shaman’s side, not going anywhere else.

“Will most people in the Tribe go?” Su Bai asked.

“No, not everyone will go. Only a small portion will.” Yu Ying said.

“Isn’t this festival once a year? Why don’t many people go and attend?” Su Bai asked.

“Because many people already have someone they like and have established a relationship with them. So naturally, they won’t participate in this festival. Those who participate in this festival are the ones who are not in such relationships, or they just want to join in the festivities.” Yu Ying said.

Su Bai’s thick eyebrows slightly raised, thoughtfully saying. “It seems you all already have someone you like.”

Upon hearing these words, Yu Ying suddenly froze, stammering. “No…no, I…I only want to… stay by the Shaman’s side.”

After she finished speaking, her entire face turned red, and she immediately lowered her head, not daring to look at the Shaman.

“Hahahaha…” Su Bai reached out and rubbed her head, saying. “In that case, just stay here.”

“En.” Yu Ying nodded heavily.

“Shaman, aren’t you worried that the people who leave the Tribe won’t come back?” Sha Lan suddenly asked from the side.

She was of course asking about the girls in the Tribe who married out, which was a bit of a pity, because marrying out meant helping another Tribe have babies.

The Flame Dragon Tribe now had relatively few people and urgently needed people to have babies, so women were important.

“It doesn’t matter. Won’t our Tribe’s men also bring women back?” Su Bai did not think it was a problem.

[Rather than everyone intermarrying, it would be better to find some outsiders to marry, to produce healthier children. What’s more, the prospects of living in the Flame Dragon Tribe are already great, and would get better overtime. At that point, who would not want to marry into their Tribe? Who would want to leave our Tribe?]

“That’s true, but those women are not people of our Tribe. Won’t they leak our secrets back to their original Tribe?” Sha Lan suddenly thought of this point.

“Just don’t let them have contact with such matters first, and tell the Tribe’s people not to speak about it with them. Wait until later, when they truly become people of our Tribe, to talk about it.” Su Bai calmly replied.

“I understand,” Sha Lan nodded.
