I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 436, Surprisingly Still Alive

Translator: Silavin

The sky had already begun to gradually darken as it turned to dusk, and looking out, everything was a golden yellow expanse.

The entire forest seemed to be covered by a large yellow curtain, and the originally dark green leaves were also dyed with a layer of light yellow.

The scenery was beautiful. Sunset upon the primitive forest had a unique flavour to it.

Looking around, beneath the twilight, besides the lush trees, there was also a flock of birds in flight.

The dusk in the primitive forest was not just yellow, but even had some light pink mixed in. These intertwined colours were not chaotic but rather make for a surprisingly harmonious and beautiful scene.

However, the four people in the forest had no time nor energy to appreciate these beautiful sights; they were only focused on quickly covering ground.

Kai and the others were still continuously moving forward. They should have reached the Giant Bear Tribe long ago, but they encountered a Ferocious Beast along the way.

They spent quite some time avoiding it. Fortunately, it had not discovered them. It had only caught their scent, but since Kai and the others were constantly hiding, the Ferocious Beast did not find its target.

To hide and avoid being discovered by the Ferocious Beast took about two to four hours.

So, they were delayed, and since it was already dusk, they had to quicken their pace.

How terrifying the Wilderness was at night needs no explanation, so they had to hurry back.

*Thump thump thump.*

*Rustle rustle rustle…*

The four kept moving forward, with no time to mind their surroundings. No matter how beautiful it was, it had nothing to do with them.

At this moment, they just wanted to quickly reach the Giant Bear Tribe. Each sound of beasts around them made them fearful.

Additionally, as the sky began to darken at a visibly rapid pace, they became even more afraid.

After all, they were only Warrior Trainees, no matter how strong they were, they could not face a Ferocious Beast. Even if all four worked together, they were no match for a Ferocious Beast, moreover they were very close to the Tribe now.

They wanted to return to the Tribe even more than before, it felt like home was ahead, with wolves chasing from behind.

Everyone was anxious. They had been traveling for a long time, and surviving until now was extremely difficult.

Additionally, teammates had died under the claws of Ferocious Beasts before, just thinking about those scenes made them even more afraid.

They were still young, and it was their first time out for training, with no Shaman Technique to rely on. Being afraid was normal.

“You all need to be careful of your surroundings, don’t lower your guard just because we’re almost there. There might also be Ferocious Beasts lying in ambush around us.” Li cautiously reminded.

Although she was scared, being the oldest among them, she had to take the lead. She was steadfast in her actions and decisions. No matter how afraid she was, she could not lose her composure and show fear on her face.

Kai was the same. He was usually extremely competitive, so he too would not show fear now. Even if he had to fake it, he would continue to preserve the image of being strong and steady among the Warrior Trainees.

Luo was different though. He was usually carefree and loved to eat and sleep. He could not care less about his image. He looked around worriedly, half-bent over showing his fear, with terror clearly written on his face.

“How long until we reach the Tribe? The forest at night is too scary…” Luo frowned.

At this moment, he really missed the Flame Dragon Tribe. He would rather go back there than out here, where it was safer.

“Very soon. Don’t waste any more time, just hurry.” Li encouraged everyone.

Her hand was still pressing on her bag, afraid that the ceramic inside might be damaged.

Any one of them could fall, but the ceramic absolutely needed to remain unharmed.

*Thump thump thump.* The four kept moving through the forest, with strange calls from beasts continuously being heard.

And it was not just one or two types, but many kinds of beasts making strange howling sounds.

There were also beasts moving through branches and bushes, constantly making creaking sounds.

This scared them, and their pace clearly increased. They no longer minded the stumbling stones under their feet, or the branches scratching their skin.

*Rustle rustle rustle…*

Kai and the others used all their strength, spending more than half an hour to reach the outer perimeter of the Tribe.

Lan looked up, sighed with relief and said, “Finally! We’re here. The journey was really long and hard.”

“Finally we’re back. I thought we wouldn’t make it!” Luo was completely exhausted.

He was covered in sweat. Now, he could truly be relieved. He no longer had to worry about Ferocious Beasts in the forest. His life was safe now!

“Let’s hurry back to report to the Shaman and the Chieftain,” Li urged, taking the lead in climbing the slope.

After all, the Giant Bear Tribe was built on a hillside, and whether leaving or returning to the Tribe, they needed to scale this slope.

“Okay,” the other three nodded and followed her up the slope, no one dared to waste time now.

It took them more than ten minutes just to climb the slope, and they finally reached the main gate of the Giant Bear Tribe.

Now, the sky had completely darkened, to the point where they could not see their hands in front of them.

“We’re safe…” Kai could finally breathe a sigh of relief, no longer needing to stay tense.

At the entrance of the Giant Bear Tribe, there were six Totem Warriors and twelve Warrior Trainees standing guard, with bonfires lit on both sides of the gate.

When they saw Kai and the others, they were all surprised. After all, they had not expected them to still be alive. now appearing right before them.

The entire Tribe had been saying that the Warrior Trainees who went out for training had all died.

Unexpectedly, those four were now standing in front of them. Though looking dirty and in a very miserable state, they were at least still alive.

They were stunned, and only after a while did they react, asking, “Kai, Li, Luo, Lan is that you?”

These four were quite strong among the Warrior Trainees in the Tribe, and moreover, two of them were the Chieftain’s Daughter and Son, and two were the Hunting Team Leader’s Daughter and Son. With their extraordinary strength and special status, it would be difficult not to remember them.

“It’s us, we’ve returned.” Kai said seriously, he certainly knew that he looked miserable at the moment.

Being away from the Tribe for so long, and hiding in the forest for so long, who could still look neat and tidy?

“Quickly let us in.” Li frowned, really wanting to rest and well.
