Chapter 408, I Want to Experiment

“Shaman, why do tomatoes taste so good?” Sha Lan’s cat ears kept twitching.

She also finished eating the entire tomato in just a few bites, her expression still showing lingering satisfaction.

“This is one of the few vegetables that can be eaten, with its special flavour being sweet and sour,” Su Bai explained.

Tomatoes were also very popular on Earth, whether eaten raw or cooked into dishes. Even if one does not like them raw, their dishes were known to be delicious.

“Is it a vegetable?” Yu Ying blinked her pink eyes in surprise. “Or is it a fruit?”

“They are vegetables, just like the vegetables you ate before.” Su Bai explained.

Yu Ying nodded thoughtfully and handed over the wild chicken eggs she had just brought, “Shaman, I’ve brought these for you.”

“En.” Su Bai nodded, taking the wild chicken eggs and cracking them one by one into the large bowl.

Afterward, he began cutting many tomato pieces, deliberately cutting the tomatoes into relatively small pieces.

“Shaman, what are you making?” Yan Hua brushed her black hair aside and continued asking.

” I’m making tomato scrambled eggs for you.” Su Bai said softly, continuing to work with the items on the cutting board.

The cutting board was also made by Gu Mu, a large, thick wooden board specifically cut from selected quality wood.

After that, many tools were made, all of which were used in the kitchen.

For example, essential items like chopsticks, bowls, and plates need not be mentioned, along with some other things.

“What are tomato scrambled eggs? Shaman, does it mean using these wild chicken eggs to fry it with those tomatoes?” Yan Hua guessed based on the literal meaning and his actions.

“Yes, that’s exactly what it means. Just wait and you’ll taste it.” Su Bai first put the beaten wild chicken eggs into the wok and stir-fried them.

When the wild chicken eggs started turning golden yellow, he took them out.

Finally, he put the tomatoes in to stir-fry, and when the tomatoes were almost cooked, he added a little salt for seasoning.

“Swoosh swoosh swoosh…” The spatula and iron wok kept colliding, making a rustling sound. When the tomatoes were almost done, he poured in the previously stir-fried wild chicken eggs.

Su Bai continuously mixed and stir-fried the two together and finally squeezed in Ocean Lily Fruit Juice for the finishing touch. He stir-fried a few more times, and then placed it on a plate.

He put the plate of tomato scrambled eggs on the table and said. “Alright, you all try and see how it tastes.”

Yu Ying handed over a pair of chopsticks and softly said. “Shaman, please eat first.”

The girls dared not pick up their chopsticks first; no one had forgotten the rule that the Shaman must eat first.

Su Bai nodded slightly, took the chopsticks and picked up a piece of wild chicken egg, putting it in his mouth, and said with satisfaction. “It tastes better than what I’ve eaten before.”

Perhaps it was because of the ingredients, or because he had not eaten it for a long time, he found this plate of tomato scrambled eggs really delicious.

The higher probability was most likely the ingredients; the tomatoes here were purely natural and unpolluted, and they were very large and sweet. The wild chicken eggs were also completely natural, and not small in size. They are naturally different in taste from ordinary chicken eggs that might have the chickens genetically modified.

“Shaman, have you eaten this before?” Yu Ying asked curiously, as the aroma of the tomato and eggs kept wafting into her nostrils.

“You should all try it too, don’t just stand there at ceremony.” Su Bai said, seeing girls had not picked up their chopsticks.

“En.” Yu Ying nodded heavily, and after getting permission, took the chopsticks and picked up a piece of tomato and egg to start eating.

Yan Hua and Sha Lan were the same, all taking up chopsticks to start eating the tomato scrambled eggs.

“This… this… this…is too delicious!” Co Co was shocked. She loved this flavour so much that she felt like nothing in this world could compete with it. The sweet and sour flavour was balanced, and it was so soft on the tongue, as though playing around it. This was absolutely delicious.

She had not expected that two completely unrelated items, when put together, could create such a delicious dish.

Yan Hua ate several pieces without hesitation and said with satisfaction. “This is different from all the other food before, it’s delicious!”

“I never thought wild chicken eggs could make such a delicious dish, incredible…” Sha Lan enjoyed it so much her cat tail kept swishing.

The beast eared girls were all direct; when they ate something delicious or were happy, they showed it with their tails.

[Hmmm… If Humans on Earth had not evolved away their tails, it would probably be a very interesting scene.

Imagine if everyone had a tail, and their happiness or unhappiness would be displayed on it. If a person liked someone, wouldn’t their tail keep wagging? Their whole person would appear to be overjoyed.

Likewise, if a person suddenly became unhappy or sick, wouldn’t their tail suddenly droop down?

I wonder if everyone went out, would they not hold hands, but instead have tails intertwined with tails? Who knows?]

“If you like it so much, you can try making it yourselves. It’s very simple to make.” Su Bai said softly.

“Shaman, I want to try making it tonight.” Yu Ying said excitedly.

Yu Ying loved eating meat – who in the Primitive Tribes did not? But since the Shaman arrived, things were different.

They not only ate meat but also had various kinds of food, such as Wolf Tail Grass Noodle, mushroom delicacies, and so on, all of which were irresistible.

“Good, I’ll teach you to make some other dishes too. We can eat something different tonight,” Su Bai smiled.

“Okay,” Yu Ying immediately agreed.

Yu Ying loved learning to cook new dishes, not only could she eat delicious food but also learn new things.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes, took out tomatoes, and continued to explain to Yu Ying about other ways to cook tomatoes.

…

*Pitter-patter…* The rain outside was still falling continuously, showing no signs of weakening, and there were not many days left until the end of the rainy season.

After teaching the girls how to cook, Su Bai walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the scenery outside from afar.

Although everywhere was a misty scene, and only the blurry Tribe under the rain curtain could be seen.

But this kind of scene was not necessarily a bad view; on the contrary, it had a sense of misty beauty to it.

“Shaman, can you teach me to do some experiments? I want to learn.” Co Co suddenly asked.

Co Co showed a serious expression, and she was very determined and earnest.

Suddenly, lightning and thunder outside illuminated her beautiful face, revealing an even more serious expression.

Su Bai was startled, not expecting her to be so sudden, and she did not seem like it was just a momentary interest.

He turned around and asked. “Do you really want to learn?”

Co Co nodded without hesitation and immediately replied. “Yes, Shaman, I want to learn.”

“I understand,” Su Bai nodded slightly, not expecting that just a few days ago when he briefly mentioned chemistry, the girl would remember it until now.
