Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1747: Chapter 1649: Switched

Huo Sining knew what Yang Suxin wanted to say. She must have thought she was taken away by the police, so she was too scared to go out and meet people.

“You don’t need to be nervous. I already knew in advance that Su Lingxue and her group were plotting against me. I know you were used by them. I just didn’t expose you.”

Hearing Huo Sining’s words, Su Xin was stunned. Her eyes reddened, and the weight in her heart was finally lifted. Her voice was choked, unable to look at Xie Yuxing standing beside her, she could only bow her head and apologize continually:

“I’m sorry, Miss Huo, I’m really sorry, I had no choice, I really didn’t want this, I…”

Since Huo Sining could identify Su Lingxue’s use of Xie Yuxing’s assistant, she naturally had discovered that Yang Suxin was being threatened by Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen. Thus, it wasn’t impossible for Huo Sining to understand why Yang Suxin acted the way she did.

If the box had really contained illicit substances, Huo Sining might not have forgiven Yang Suxin so quickly. But when Gu Xu told her it was an oolong — that the box with “Pearl Powder” was not drugs, but milk powder — she gained a deeper understanding of Yang Suxin.

“Su Xin, just tell me, did you swap the contents of the box?”

Huo Sining seriously looked at Yang Suxin and asked, her gaze fixed directly on Yang Suxin’s face for reaction.

Yang Suxin was momentarily stunned, and then timidly nodded her head:

“They said if I didn’t put the items into Miss Huo’s room, they would have people from the casino take my brother away… I truly didn’t want to harm Miss Huo, I knew for sure they were up to no good… I could guess what’s inside the box, so I secretly swapped the ‘Pearl Powder’ with milk powder, hoping even if the police found out, Miss Huo would certainly be fine.”

Huo Sining had long suspected that Yang Suxin was behind this, but hearing Yang Suxin confess, she was at a loss for words.

She looked at Yang Suxin with complex emotions, unable to determine if she was irritated, relieved, or if she should laugh or cry.

If Yang Suxin hadn’t acted unnecessarily, Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen would definitely face official charges, and a prison sentence would be inevitable.

But Yang Suxin did it not to help Su Lingxue, but to rescue Huo Sining. She knew she couldn’t openly defy Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen’s threats, so she quietly dissolved the crisis for Huo Sining.

However, even Yang Suxin could not have anticipated that her actions unintentionally cleared Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen of suspicion.

On one side, Xie Yuxing listened in shock, not expecting such twists and turns, ending in a miraculous solution.

She looked at Yang Suxin with comfort, knowing that Yang Suxin was kind-hearted. Initially believing she had been used by Su Lingxue, only to find that this girl wasn’t too stupid, she eventually met Xie Yuxing’s expectations.

“You see, you’ve truly caused Miss Huo trouble by helping without care. If you hadn’t acted unnecessarily, Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen, those two vile women, might have been helpless!”

Xie Yuxing feigned anger, scolding Su Xin, but her eyes were smiling, no longer heavy-hearted as when she had gone upstairs to find Huo Sining.

Su Xin trembled at Xie Yuxing’s scolding, murmuring, “I didn’t know…”

Xie Yuxing replied coldly, “You think not knowing can be excused? If Miss Huo wasn’t clever, who knows how many would exploit this incident, she’d be in deep trouble, don’t you know?”

“You thought swapping it with milk powder would resolve the issue? You’ve made a big mistake! Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen are mere clowns, with little standing in the entertainment industry, so no one targets them!”

“But Miss Huo is different, she’s linked with the official circle. If found hiding drugs, even if it’s later confirmed the ‘Pearl Powder’ box had milk powder, this incident would surely escalate!”

“The public won’t believe such an absurd explanation, they might even suspect internal tampering with evidence to shield Miss Huo. If someone pushes this narrative, things would escalate beyond control, no matter how much Miss Huo tried to explain!”

Xie Yuxing’s words strongly resonated with Huo Sining.

The Gu Family, Lu Family, and Zhou Family are all politically connected. If such an incident occurred, there’s no guarantee enemies wouldn’t exploit it. Public trust in the government is already low, and if this incident happens, Miss Huo wouldn’t escape trouble.

Yang Suxin is just an ordinary girl, her age and experience cannot match Xie Yuxing’s depth of thought, so she couldn’t understand the complexities involved. She thought swapping drugs for milk powder could solve the crisis for Huo Sining, not realizing her approach was futile.

This realization left Yang Suxin frightened, her face turning pale, her whole being dazed.

Huo Sining didn’t come to question or criticize Yang Suxin; knowing the ‘Pearl Powder’ was swapped, she didn’t intend to blame the girl.

Though swapping it for milk powder had backfired, the girl’s intention was to rescue her, so Huo Sining wouldn’t hold Yang Suxin accountable.

“Since you’re apologizing to me, why not do me a favor and make amends?”

Huo Sining smiled, asking Yang Suxin.

Yang Suxin nodded vigorously: “Sure, even if it’s one, ten, a hundred tasks, as long as I can help, I’ll do my best!”

Huo Sining glanced at Xie Yuxing and said, “Your Sister Xing mentioned I lack someone to care for me in the crew and I’m likely to suffer losses, but it’s hard for me to find the right assistant. So, what about this, while you’re taking care of Sister Xing, also be my assistant too. I will pay you the same as Sister Xing. However, you may have to work a bit harder, what do you think?”

Upon hearing this, Yang Suxin was stunned, instinctively glancing at Xie Yuxing, her eyes dimming.

Before Xie Yuxing went upstairs to find Huo Sining, she had already issued Yang Suxin an ultimatum that she would contact the company to get a new assistant, and tomorrow Yang Suxin would no longer be her assistant, lacking the qualifications to be Huo Sining’s part-time assistant.
