Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1741: Chapter 1644: The Show Begins

Huo Sining knew what Xie Yuxing wanted to say, so she hurriedly patted her on the back of the hand and said with a smile:

”Sister Xing, you don’t need to explain. I know this has nothing to do with you. It’s Sister Suxin’s own action. She was coerced by that person; otherwise, she wouldn’t have troubled someone like me, who she doesn’t even know.”

Hearing this, Xie Yuxing couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

She cherished this friend, Huo Sining, a lot. From the beginning, her interaction with Huo Sining wasn’t based on her status and position.

Moreover, she could tell that Huo Sining didn’t care much about status or family background. She wasn’t arrogant and never used her background to gain leverage. This was something Xie Yuxing found commendable.

She had interacted with many privileged individuals in the Imperial Capital, but Huo Sining was the first one with such genuineness.

In the entertainment industry, finding a true friend is difficult, yet Xie Yuxing had a feeling that this girl in front of her might be the true friend she had longed for all her life.

That’s why Xie Yuxing was so nervous, afraid that Huo Sining would misunderstand her.

However, upon hearing that Huo Sining was already aware of the situation and even invited her downstairs to watch, Xie Yuxing felt something was off, and her eyes flickered as she vaguely guessed something:

”You’ve already prepared a counter-strategy?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Since they came up with a plan to frame me, of course, they’d have to endure my retaliation. Using their own tactics against them, it was their idea, and I want them to taste the consequences!”

Xie Yuxing was stunned, not quite understanding Huo Sining’s meaning: ”You mean—”

Huo Sining laughed, extended a finger to make a hush gesture, and then softly smiled at Xie Yuxing: ”You can’t blame me for this; it’s merely self-defense. Alright, lie down, and I’ll check if your arm is hurt. We can watch the drama unfold while dealing with this, no need to wait long!”

Xie Yuxing was still full of doubt, but seeing Huo Sining’s attitude, it was clear she wasn’t going to discuss it right now. She didn’t ask further, following Huo Sining’s suggestion, lying on Huo Sining’s bed, letting her massage the areas of her shoulder, back, and limbs injured by the wire stunt equipment.

A cool sensation emanated from Huo Sining’s hand, and Xie Yuxing distinctly felt a strange force rushing around in her body, yet it was exceptionally comforting.

After a few minutes, where Huo Sining barely used any force, Xie Yuxing felt an uncontrollable urge to moan from the relaxation. Letting out a long sigh, she closed her eyes and drifted into a daze.

Just as she closed her eyes, an urgent knocking came from the next door.

The knocking was loud enough for everyone in the hallway to hear, instantly driving away Xie Yuxing’s sleepiness. She sharply raised her head, instinctively sensing something was amiss.

Huo Sining’s hand didn’t show any sign of stopping. Seeing Xie Yuxing look up, she smiled and said, ”No need to worry, the show is about to begin!”

In the suite next door, Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue were also waiting. After the abrupt end of the call with the narcotics team, Huang Jingwen called them again after ten minutes.

However, this time, she couldn’t get through. Huang Jingwen didn’t overthink it. When the narcotics team conducts special operations, turning off communication devices is understandable.

Moreover, Huang Jingwen was convinced of her relationship with the person. At a time like this, the person shouldn’t mess up.

So she wasn’t in a hurry. After failing to reach them by phone, she sat patiently, waiting to watch the show.

Su Lingxue, on the other hand, was somewhat distracted. She had privately contacted reporters, preparing to use the pretext of an interview, inviting them upstairs to conveniently witness the next door being raided by the narcotics team, thus exposing Huo Sining’s scandal and perfectly hiding her own aim.

However, her plan hit a snag. At this critical moment, none of the reporters could be reached. They weren’t responding to messages, nor answering calls.

Feeling uneasy, Su Lingxue sensed something strange, yet didn’t associate it with Huo Sining. She merely thought there was some big news that all the reporters were rushing to cover, leaving no time for her issue.

Filled with frustration and helplessness, she could only look for other options. As she was scrolling through her phone to contact other entertainment reporters, someone suddenly knocked on her suite door.

Upon hearing the knock, Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue exchanged glances and instinctively asked, ”Who is it?”

No one replied, but the knocking became even more urgent.

Helpless, Huang Jingwen went to open the door.

Being cautious, she looked through the peephole and saw several people in uniforms standing at the door, immediately realizing they were from the narcotics team.

Elated at first, Huang Jingwen quickly became annoyed, opening the door and said in a low voice, ”Why are you here? You knocked on the wrong door. It’s next door, wasn’t the room number 1508? You guys—”

Before Huang Jingwen could finish speaking, the leader among the police officers suddenly took out a badge and a search warrant, speaking in a very serious tone:

”Are you the occupants of suite 1509? We received a report that someone is hiding drugs here. This is our search warrant. Please cooperate with us as we conduct a search of your suite!”

”What? You—”

The unexpected words left Huang Jingwen bewildered. She instinctively wanted to ask what was going on, but before she could finish, she was shoved aside by one of the officers as seven or eight uniformed men filed in, three of them even armed.

Su Lingxue, who was about to call the entertainment reporters, was dumbfounded seeing so many strangers rush into the room. She sprang up from the sofa, both angry and furious, shouting:

”What are you doing? Who let you in? Get out right now!”

But the police ignored Su Lingxue’s cursing, proceeding directly into the suite, each donning white gloves and starting a thorough search of the place.

Enraged, Su Lingxue angrily glared at Huang Jingwen, who had followed them in, ”What is going on? The people you called didn’t search next door first but came to search us?”
