Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1725: Chapter 1628: Scene-Stealing

The first scene between Huo Sining and the male lead happens when she unexpectedly discovers a conspiracy and encounters the male lead for the first time.

The girl’s eyes lit up upon seeing the male lead, but when she noticed the two people beside him were the masterminds of the conspiracy, her expression instantly revealed surprise and shock, showcasing her inner turmoil without daring to show it too much.

The set was silent, everyone was watching the young woman, stunned by Huo Sining’s natural and exquisite acting skills.

In this scene, the female lead has very few lines, all the acting expressed through her face. Acting opposite Shangguan Zhuo and two other veteran actors alongside Huo Sining, all of these actors are veterans with superb acting skills, making the difficulty well-recognized by everyone present.

Huo Sining is a newcomer and not formally trained. A slight misstep could overshadow the female lead’s character, so to avoid being overshadowed, she must imbue the role with life and soul.

Yet Huo Sining managed to do it. Everyone on set saw her and seemed to truly see a Mermaid Princess, she portrayed the character so vividly, as if she truly embodied the Mermaid Princess, leaving no room for any flaws.

Her body stiffened, eyes widened, the struggle in her gaze, the slyness and wit barely visible in her cool eyes, and the thoughtful expression replacing the smile on her face were all captured by the camera.

Huo Sining vividly expressed the inner drama of the Mermaid Princess upon meeting the male lead, instantly bringing the initially flat character to life.

”CUT!”

Zheng Lixiang’s loud shout ended the shoot, and everyone finally came to their senses, still wanting more of Huo Sining’s astonishing performance.

Zheng Lixiang unconsciously glanced at Huo Sining on set, her eyes filled with shock and joy.

This time she truly found a gem; Huo Sining is definitely a genius.

Shangguan Zhuo also came to his senses, he was most affected as he had acted opposite Huo Sining just now.

The script did not have detailed explanations for the female lead’s scene, yet Huo Sining brought the character to life spontaneously.

It’s known that expressing inner drama solely through facial expressions requires years of acting experience to attempt such a breakthrough, yet Huo Sining did it effortlessly, her performance wasn’t awkward at all, each expression profoundly portrayed, capturing the character’s personality and characteristics perfectly.

Moreover, what surprised Shangguan Zhuo was not just this.

Because he had prior instructions from Zheng Lixiang who wanted to test Huo Sining’s potential, after filming began, Shangguan Zhuo went all out, aiming to probe Huo Sining’s abilities.

Having been in the industry for over ten years, Shangguan Zhuo meticulously approaches every role, so several actresses, including Su Lingxue, had auditioned for the female lead before but couldn’t withstand his presence and thus were dismissed by Zheng Lixiang mercilessly.

In the industry, only first-rate actors can have the scene revolve around them, while second-rate actors follow the scene, as for third-rate or non-mainstream actors, they simply get led by others.

However, Shangguan Zhuo was astonished that this time, with his full force, Huo Sining, before such overwhelming presence of a veteran actor, was completely unaffected; instead, her inspiration was sparked, spontaneous performance scenes led by Huo Sining’s spirited expressions took over.

Overwhelm!

Huo Sining’s performance just now inflicted invisible pressure on Shangguan Zhuo, if not for his decade of experience calming him, he might’ve been overshadowed by this girl.

This surprise made Shangguan Zhuo somewhat incredulous, if she were an A-list actress, achieving this wouldn’t be surprising, but the girl in front of him was unmistakably a newcomer, never having acted before, where did she get such inspiration and skills?

When actors are engaged on set and the director doesn’t call ”CUT”, it signifies no issues.

Sure enough, this scene passed smoothly, initially planned for half a day’s shoot, finished with no retakes in less than an hour.

This indeed marked a delightful beginning, those on set who initially doubted Huo Sining changed their opinions, Shangguan Zhuo’s manager enthusiastically entered the set to hand him water, didn’t forget to do the same for Huo Sining.

Huo Sining thanked him with a smile, opened the water bottle and drank several gulps eagerly.

Although it was October, the scorching sun was still unbearably hot, coupled with the heavy costumes and the tension and heat during filming, she was feeling parched.

After finishing her drink, Huo Sining’s gaze inadvertently met a pair of eyes.

Seeing Gu Yan glance over, Shangguan Zhuo wasn’t a bit embarrassed for peeking, instead he raised his water bottle to Huo Sining.

Huo Sining was slightly surprised, politely nodded, greeted the assistant director, then turned to walk off set, the next scenes didn’t involve her, and after the previous scene, she indeed felt somewhat tired.

”You certainly didn’t make the wrong choice with Huo Sining! Although initially hesitant like Jiang Hua, she gradually mastered the role. For a newcomer at her age, it’s commendable.”

As soon as Shangguan Zhuo wrapped up, he headed to Zheng Lixiang’s station to view the footage; indeed, the unedited raw sample from the previous scene was already remarkably polished and beautiful, a bit of editing would make it nearly perfect, seeing this splendid footage, Shangguan Zhuo couldn’t help but smile as he spoke to Zheng Lixiang.

Zheng Lixiang widened her eyes in surprise: ”You’re... complimenting her?”

Shangguan Zhuo glanced at Zheng Lixiang, perhaps her exaggerated reaction caused him to remark blandly, ”What, do I rarely compliment people?”

Zheng Lixiang mockingly rolled her eyes and replied, ”Rarely? You’ve practically never done it! Among the new generation of actors, which one do you approve? When those actresses auditioned for the female lead earlier, what’s your attitude? Not telling them to leave is already kind. How have you managed to get by in the entertainment industry with this attitude? Those collaborating with you, how can they tolerate your temper?”
