Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1744: Chapter 1646: Big News

Upon hearing the commotion, Huo Sining couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at Xie Yuxing. Pretending to be curious, they peeked out of the suite, looking at Su Lingxue with a bewildered expression:

”What’s happening?”

Because of the loud noise, many guests had already come out of their rooms. Having seen some of the inside story, they quickly replied to Huo Sining:

”Not sure, seems like there’s talk about drugs being hidden or something, a bunch of police officers went in to search. No idea who’s staying in this room...”

At this moment, the hotel elevator opened right on the 15th floor. Several reporters wielding cameras emerged, heading towards Su Lingxue’s suite. Upon seeing uniformed officers inside, the reporters were instantly taken aback.

”Excuse me... Is this Su Lingxue’s room?”

One of the reporters reacted fastest, quickly sensing the oddity. His eyes flashed with shock and curiosity as he couldn’t help but grab one of the officers to inquire.

The officer glanced at the reporter, revealing some suspicion in his eyes: ”You reporters are just like cats, the moment something happens you smell it and rush over. You must have known about this in advance, right? You seem quite suspicious to me!”

The reporters were immediately bewildered: ”Officer, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. What suspicions, what news? We haven’t done anything wrong.”

The officer remarked coldly: ”If you didn’t know about the news, then how did you get here so quickly? Don’t tell me you were just passing by!”

”No, officer, I really don’t know what you’re talking about. We even wanted to ask what exactly happened. We had previously arranged with Miss Su to come here for an exclusive interview. She told us her room was 1509, so we came up, truly unaware of any incidents.”

The reporter, realizing the officer was suspecting him, panicked and hurriedly pulled out his phone to prove his innocence, pointing at one of the messages:

”Look, this is the message Miss Su sent me, along with call records. I’m not lying!”

After the officer looked at the evidence a few times, and confirmed the person wasn’t lying, he relaxed:

”Exclusive interview? Well, you’re probably not getting that today. That Su Lingxue, along with her manager, had what appears to be drugs hidden in their room. We came upon this through a lead and have already searched it out. We’re taking the people and evidence back to the criminal investigation bureau, so if you want an interview, you’d better switch subjects!”

The reporter was stunned upon hearing this. But quickly, he regained composure, looking at the officer with a face full of shock: ”Drugs? You’re saying Su Lingxue and her manager, are taking drugs?”

The officer didn’t deny it, and just this attitude was enough to excite the reporters significantly.

An exclusive interview, how could it compare to the impact of a headline news story?

These entertainment reporters were not law reporters; they always loved to spread rumors and exaggerate. The slightest commotion could be turned into a dramatic uproar by them, not to mention the police showing up with actual evidence of a big scandal!

The reporters no longer cared about anything else. With their cameras, they began snapping away rapidly, each one extending their necks to get a clear view inside.

If it weren’t for the police blocking them, these reporters would have rushed right in.

Just then, the officer brought Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen out from inside. Seeing this, the reporters were even more energized, camera flashes continuously going off as they crowded at the door, eagerly thrusting microphones forward:

”Miss Su, the police reported they found a large amount of drugs in your room. Is this true?”

”When did you start dealing and consuming drugs?”

”Are the drugs for your own use or did you purchase them for others? Why choose to do such a thing in a hotel during your film shoot?”

”Do you regret it? Do you know the dangers of drugs?”

”...”

The reporters who had arranged the interview with Su Lingxue now turned into those who were kicking her when she’s down. The microphones were almost shoved into her mouth.

Su Lingxue’s gaze fell on these familiar reporters’ faces, seeing their excited and schadenfreude expressions. Her face burned with embarrassment, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into, yet feeling a strange irony.

Beside her, Huang Jingwen remained silent. Neither of them had expected that after all their scheming, they would trip themselves up.

When the police escorted them out of the room, breaking through the reporters’ encirclement, Su Lingxue looked up and saw the guests watching the drama from not far away. Among them, the most conspicuous were Huo Sining and Xie Yuxing, standing with their arms crossed.

Huo Sining’s eyes were full of irony and mockery, making Su Lingxue suddenly realize something. She couldn’t help but lift her head, looking at Huo Sining with hatred and spite:

”It’s you! You did this!”

Huo Sining looked at Su Lingxue with a bewildered expression: ”Sister Ling, what are you talking about? What did I do?”

Su Lingxue sneered: ”Don’t pretend, you placed those drugs there, didn’t you? I was careless, didn’t think you’d hide so well!”

Su Lingxue wasn’t stupid, she obviously knew something was wrong.

She and Huang Jingwen had clearly seen Yang Suxin put ”Pearl Powder” in Huo Sining’s room. Yet somehow, the police found drugs in her bag. How did it turn out like this?

There’s only one explanation: Huo Sining must have known about their plan to frame her all along, choosing instead to play along and use the ”Pearl Powder” to turn the tables on them.

Realizing this, Su Lingxue finally understood that she and Huang Jingwen were duped, played by the seemingly naive rookie!

Su Lingxue began trembling all over, her heart swelling with anger and hatred, wishing she could rush over and tear apart the smug smile on that woman’s face.

Damn it, she didn’t expect that while trying to hunt the wild goose, she ended up being pecked by it. She and Huang Jingwen thought their plan was flawless, only to have it backfire, trapping themselves!

Huo Sining, however, laughed as if hearing a joke:

”Sister Ling, don’t falsely accuse people. I have no grudge against you, why would I harm you? Moreover, the police said they traced the drugs to your location. Those drugs were clearly bought by you, so why are you now blaming me?”
