Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1733: Chapter 1636: Underwater Scene

With Yu Fei taking charge, monitoring the communications devices of one or two people was naturally a piece of cake.

Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue were still somewhat vigilant. They probably had experience in this area, so when they were contacting each other to discuss how to trip up Huo Sining, they used email. After discussing, they mostly deleted the emails immediately.

However, they probably thought they had done it discreetly enough. Given Huo Sining’s inexperience as a newcomer, it was unlikely she would notice anything unusual about them, so they weren’t especially guarded.

As a result, these two had no idea that their personal computers had long been under Yu Fei’s control, and the emails they sent had been intercepted and evidence retained by Yu Fei before being deleted.

Initially, Yu Fei thought the matter between Huo Sining and Su Lingxue was just a minor spat. In the entertainment industry, such things were a common occurrence and not considered strange.

But after seeing Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue’s emails, Yu Fei realized he was wrong.

If it were just a minor spat, the things these two women were planning behind the scenes were too vicious. They intended to harm with such tricks. If he hadn’t discovered it in time, and if Huo Sining were caught in the trap, even with the support of the Gu Family and Chief Lu, it would be tough for her to handle!

Yu Fei was almost infuriated by this news. Without a second thought, he called Gu Xu and sent screenshots of the emails to Gu Xu’s inbox without leaving anything out.

Gu Xu’s face turned completely dark when he saw those screenshots.

That day, everything in the crew was as usual. Huo Sining’s scenes were halfway through, and there was a scene she had to film underwater.

In this scene, the male lead and Bai Ling have a spat. Bai Ling throws their engagement ring into the lake, and the male lead jumps in to find it without a second thought, only to find out he can’t swim. The female lead, Lina, jumps into the water to save him, only to transform into her true form underwater.

It’s during this rescue that the male lead recalls being saved as a child after rescuing a big fish and being thrown into the water by his father. He was saved by a girl with a human body and a mermaid tail.

This scene required post-production effects. Huo Sining’s role was to breathe air into the male lead’s mouth while saving him, essentially a proxy for a kissing scene.

Shooting such a kissing scene was something Huo Sining would not agree to. She was already Gu Xu’s wife, so of course, she couldn’t sacrifice her body for the role. Zheng Lixiang had considered this and stated early on that a stunt double would be used for this scene, and Huo Sining wouldn’t be required to perform it herself.

In fact, Zheng Lixiang had already prepared a stunt double for Huo Sining, not knowing initially that Sining could swim. However, when Huo Sining heard about Zheng Lixiang’s plan, she outright refused.

Jokingly, she thought, she’s the queen underwater. Does she need a stunt double?

Zheng Lixiang had seen Huo Sining’s magic performance on the Spring Festival Gala, where Sining showcased no awkwardness whatsoever in the glass water tank. But Lixiang thought it was due to camera angles and didn’t believe Sining could really hold her breath underwater for that long.

However, Huo Sining insisted it was no problem, so Zheng Lixiang didn’t press further. Since the stunt double was available, if Sining couldn’t manage, they could always switch to the double in time.

Huo Sining’s dedication surprised the others.

By this time, it was already the start of winter, and the water in Meishan was freezing. Normal people wouldn’t want to jump in, yet Sining volunteered to go without a double.

Everyone in the crew knew Huo Sining took her roles seriously, but this was over the top, wasn’t it? This young lady was the wife of a government official, yet she was willing to do underwater scenes herself?

Still, having spent considerable time with her, no one saw a trace of arrogance in Huo Sining, despite her status as an official’s wife. She was approachable and known for taking her work seriously. People were surprised but not unsympathetic to her decision.

What they didn’t know was that the reason Huo Sining wanted to do the underwater scene was that she actually craved being in the water. She hadn’t played in the water for a long time, and her special genes and blood were calling to her. The mere sight of water made her heart itch.

”Action!”

A ring pierced the sky, tracing a perfect arc before dropping into the water, creating ripples.

Shangguan Zhuo’s gaze was one of shock and disappointment, heartache and anger, emotions unfolding before the female lead. The camera quickly focused on him as he turned and dove straight into the water, trying to retrieve the ring sinking to the bottom.

However, once in the water, he realized he couldn’t swim, struggled a few times, swallowed some water, and started to sink.

The female lead, standing nearby, stomped anxiously at the sight. Seeing Bai Ling’s lack of response, she couldn’t wait any longer and leapt in without thinking.

The cool water rushed over her, and Huo Sining felt an incredible comfort envelop her, as if every pore opened up, eager for this long-lost affinity with water.

Zheng Lixiang initially thought this scene might be hard to handle, but once Huo Sining hit the water, she moved like a sprite, with her eyes open and limbs extended, in perfect harmony with her character’s setting.

Watching the monitor, with Huo Sining gliding effortlessly in the water, Zheng Lixiang couldn’t help but marvel.

If not for her long acquaintance with Huo Sining, confirming she was truly human, Zheng Lixiang might have believed Sining was embodying a mermaid.

The performance was incredibly authentic, and the wardrobe added to the illusion. When Sining entered the water, her skirt spread out, resembling a mermaid’s tail, perfectly fitting the scene.

Zheng Lixiang found herself at a loss for words because the underwater footage of Huo Sining was breathtaking, as if only underwater could Sining reveal her true essence. Zheng Lixiang had imagined many storyboards, but none matched Sining’s natural portrayal.

Lixiang had anticipated several retakes initially, worried it would be tough for Huo Sining to endure, only to find Sining’s underwater scenes captured flawlessly from every angle, requiring no editing.
