Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1740: Chapter 1643: Concern

”You’re here?”

When she heard the knock on the door, Huo Sining opened it fully. Seeing that it was only Xie Yuxing who had come down, Huo Sining raised her brows imperceptibly.

Xie Yuxing was straightforward. Having learned that Su Xin might be colluding with Su Lingxue to pull some tricks behind the scenes, there was no way she could continue to hide it. Although she had a long-standing relationship with Su Xin, she couldn’t show favoritism at this time.

On the contrary, speaking out now, before things get worse, and plugging the source in time could minimize the damage.

”I want to ask you something. Have you had any contact with my assistant in the past few days?” As soon as Xie Yuxing entered, she looked at Huo Sining seriously and asked.

Huo Sining was stunned for a moment, looked at Xie Yuxing as if trying to read any hidden meaning from her face.

Xie Yuxing watched Huo Sining with a tense and anxious expression. It was clear that she was genuinely worried and concerned about the situation, definitely not faking it.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but relax a bit, and a small smile appeared on her face. ”What’s wrong?”

Xie Yuxing knew that by now, Su Lingxue’s side must have already started to act and couldn’t take the time to explain everything. She just grabbed Huo Sining’s hand urgently and asked:

”Don’t ask about the details right now. I just want to know if you’ve had any contact with my assistant? Or have you had any conflict with her in the past few days?”

Huo Sining shook her head. ”No conflicts, but during the underwater scene shoot today, I went back to the dressing room to change clothes, and my personal clothing was soaked by someone, I don’t know who. Your assistant said she happened to be going to the hotel to pick up something for you and offered to help me. I gave her my room card and asked her to bring back a set of clean clothes to the crew for me.”

Xie Yuxing’s face changed when she heard this. She suspected that the assistant might have done something in Huo Sining’s room after getting the room card.

She looked at Huo Sining with some disappointment, ”Didn’t anyone teach you when you first entered the entertainment circle to always be vigilant and not trust people easily? You even gave her your room card, that’s just...”

As she spoke, Xie Yuxing didn’t waste any more words with Huo Sining. She released her hand and rushed straight into Huo Sining’s room, searching frantically like a headless chicken for places where things could be hidden.

”Sister Xing, what are you looking for?”

Huo Sining watched Xie Yuxing calmly, with a faint smile playing on her lips and amusement in her eyes.

Xie Yuxing wasn’t acting; she was genuinely concerned, fearing that Huo Sining might fall victim to Su Lingxue’s schemes. Otherwise, for someone as usually calm and sharp as Xie Yuxing, she wouldn’t be in such a panicked and flustered state now.

Seeing her like this, Huo Sining made up her mind. No matter if she continues in the entertainment industry or not, she would definitely keep Xie Yuxing as a friend.

Xie Yuxing searched all around but found nothing suspicious. Bugs and pinhole cameras are commonly used in the entertainment industry, but she didn’t find any in Huo Sining’s place.

After thinking for a moment, Xie Yuxing looked up and said to Huo Sining, ”Check your computer for viruses or any strange software installed, and inspect your personal belongings. If you find anything that doesn’t belong to you in your bag, take it out immediately. I need to see what it is to know how to deal with it!”

After a chaotic search, Xie Yuxing’s mind gradually calmed down. After a few seconds of silence, she seemed to think of something and spoke earnestly.

Huo Sining nodded but didn’t take any action.

Xie Yuxing became anxious, ”Hurry up, or there won’t be enough time. You’re still smiling, but if you don’t handle this quickly and they catch something on you, no matter how strong your family background is, you’ll still be at Su Lingxue’s mercy! I think this is a big mistake on your part. Isn’t it said that you have a lot of money? Why didn’t you hire an assistant before entering the entertainment circle? If you had an assistant to handle these matters for you, you wouldn’t be so easily plotted against!”

Hearing Xie Yuxing’s nagging, filled with genuine sincerity and concern, the smile in Huo Sining’s eyes deepened as she looked at Xie Yuxing, but her face revealed a slightly playful smile:

”No need to look, Sister Xing. Didn’t I invite you here for a massage? Just lie down, and I’ll give you a rubdown. I noticed your body was stiff after filming that wire stunt scene today. You must be feeling quite uncomfortable now, right?”

Xie Yuxing saw Huo Sining’s casual, nonchalant demeanor and became even more anxious, thinking she still didn’t understand the seriousness of the situation, she was so angry her eyes turned red:

”Massage? Is this the time for that? I’m telling you, don’t think just because you’re from the Gu Family, no one dares to touch you. You still don’t grasp how ruthless the entertainment industry can be; this isn’t the Imperial Capital! Since you want to enter the entertainment circle, you have to accept its rules. You’ve been shielded and pampered in the Imperial Capital and haven’t seen the cutthroat nature of the entertainment industry. A minor oversight could ruin a person’s life. Can you brush off something like this so casually?”

Seeing that Xie Yuxing’s eyes turned red, Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat and, feeling apologetic, she quickly reassured her:

”No, Sister Xing, I really didn’t mean it that way. I know what the entertainment industry is like, but you’ve misunderstood. It’s true I don’t have an assistant by my side, but I have many people handling things for me. What you mentioned, I was already aware of it and have dealt with it. That’s why I told you there’s no need to look.”

On hearing this, Xie Yuxing paused in her tracks and looked up at Huo Sining doubtfully:

”Really, why would I lie about something like this? One reason I asked you to come down was to give you a shoulder and back rub; I saw how uncomfortable you looked after filming the wire stunt. I figured you’ve likely hurt your body. Another reason was to have you come and watch a show.”

”Watch a show? What do you mean?”

Xie Yuxing looked over, full of bewilderment.

Huo Sining didn’t hide it from her and said directly, ”Your assistant did incite someone to put some things in my room, but my people uncovered it.”

Hearing that Su Xin was indeed manipulated, Xie Yuxing became furious, her face flushed. She seemed to want to explain to Huo Sining but, after opening her mouth, she couldn’t find the words to say.
