Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1728: Chapter 1631: Counterattack

Just as Zheng Lixiang thought Huo Sining would be overpowered by Su Lingxue and was about to call ”cut” to start over, Huo Sining unexpectedly popped her head out from behind Su Lingxue:

”Ling’er Sister, who were those people just now, why are they chasing us, and what are we going to do at the harbor now?”

The female lead looked alarmed and confused. She walked over to Bai Ling, wrapping her arm around hers playfully, pouting and curiously asking.

Bai Ling thought the female lead was frightened and explained nonchalantly, ”Those people are Ali’s enemies. We’re going to the harbor to catch a boat to avoid being hunted down by them, otherwise, we’d only be a burden to Ali.”

Zheng Lixiang’s words to call cut were swallowed back, because at the moment Bai Ling spoke, she saw on her monitor screen a flash of dark light in the eyes of the lead Lina. Then, a pair of flawless white jade wrists flashed out like lightning, discreetly slipping inside the female lead’s lapel.

”Quick! Camera, hands!!”

Noticing what Huo Sining was doing when she raised her hand from behind, Zheng Lixiang exclaimed excitedly, using very concise words directed to the cameraman.

Zheng Lixiang had designed in her mind many times how the lead Lina secretly planted a bug on the antagonist Bai Ling’s chest during this scene but hadn’t found the most reasonable way to present it.

She was dissatisfied with the earlier scriptwriting that had the protagonist secretly place the bug while Bai Ling was asleep.

Given the plot setting, with Bai Ling as a deep-thinking villain, she wouldn’t let her guard down around Lina at such a tense moment, much less let a bug be planted on her.

Zheng Lixiang had been stuck for a long time on how to design this scene, but unexpectedly, just now, Huo Sining, as if performing magic, made a bug appear in a palm like a flash and stealthily slipped it into Bai Ling’s front breast pocket in a flash of lightning speed.

Huo Sining’s fluid motion instantly solved Zheng Lixiang’s problem.

Whether intentional or not, when Lina produced that bug button, she intentionally waved it behind her back towards the camera, pausing for almost two seconds before casually placing it into Bai Ling’s front breast pocket.

The camera froze on the button in Huo Sining’s hand, and the female lead’s wrist performed a beautiful flourish, suggesting the protagonist’s foxy mood at the moment.

Zheng Lixiang clearly saw a victorious smile playing at Huo Sining’s lips, a mischievous smile that sparked in Zheng Lixiang’s mind how to edit and portray the protagonist. Inspiration burst forth in her mind like fireworks.

”Cut!”

Zheng Lixiang’s loud call signaled a successful scene.

The staff stepped back, and those outside the set handed actors towels and water. At this moment, Su Lingxue’s agent, Huang Jingwen, also came over, but Su Lingxue impatiently brushed her aside, puzzled as she looked at director Zheng Lixiang, who was sitting by the monitor, visibly excited.

”Lingxue, what’s up?” Huang Jingwen asked, puzzled, seeing Su Lingxue frowning.

”Did you see anything strange during the shoot just now?” Su Lingxue inquired.

While filming the scene, Huang Jingwen stood watching the whole time, but hearing this question, she looked puzzled.

She didn’t understand what exactly Su Lingxue meant: ”I was watching, but I didn’t see anything strange.”

”Something’s off, definitely something’s wrong!”

Su Lingxue didn’t think it was that simple because, during the shoot, she distinctly heard Zheng Lixiang shout ”hands,” indicating a capture by the camera.

Su Lingxue knew that one of her hands was held by Huo Sining, and the other was idle, doing nothing special, giving no reason for a close-up.

The only possibility was that Huo Sining did something right under her nose, unnoticed, which excited Zheng Lixiang.

The thought made Su Lingxue restless.

She wanted to ask Zheng Lixiang for clarity but knew that during the scene, she intentionally blocked Huo Sining’s face, such a blatant act for the spotlight that Zheng Lixiang couldn’t have missed.

Su Lingxue knew her actions must have angered Zheng Lixiang, but she held back out of respect for the investor, even if she didn’t agree. However, approaching now when Zheng Lixiang was in high spirits would only be self-defeating.

Most of those on set didn’t notice Su Lingxue’s spotlight-stealing gesture, just like Huang Jingwen, and certainly didn’t catch Huo Sining’s spontaneous magic act.

Everyone was puzzled over Zheng Lixiang’s sudden excitement, except for a few cameramen.

Not far away, resting in a wicker chair, Shangguan Zhuo noticed Zheng Lixiang’s unusual excitement. Curious, he approached and asked, ”What’s got you so hyped all of a sudden?”

Zheng Lixiang beamed with a smile as if she were a blooming flower, pulling up the recent footage and slowing the playback to the scene where Lina stealthily slipped the bug into Bai Ling’s pocket for Shangguan Zhuo to see clearly.

Indeed, the scene widened Shangguan Zhuo’s eyes in disbelief.

Understandably, it was an unfinished product, captured without editing or processing, yet it showcased such clean and elegant movement, appearing flawless.

”My God, even when watching her perform magic live at the Spring Festival Gala, it didn’t feel like this. Seeing it up close now, I’m caught off guard... how does she do it?”

”Who knows!” Zheng Lixiang shrugged, unable to hide the excitement in her eyes and smile, clearly beyond satisfied with Huo Sining’s improvised performance.
