Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1721: Chapter 1624: It’s Actually Her

Because Zheng Lixiang had implemented excellent confidentiality measures and Huo Sining wore sunglasses that covered most of her face when she came down from the hotel, Shangguan Zhuo didn’t know who this young girl in front of him was.

He just assumed that Huo Sining had joined the crew through connections because if she were a top celebrity in the industry, he would have recognized her immediately. But the feeling Huo Sining gave him was that of a newcomer, so Shangguan Zhuo naturally thought that Huo Sining obtained the female lead role through improper means.

If Huo Sining knew that Shangguan Zhuo held such thoughts, she would definitely chuckle in disbelief.

The reason she wore sunglasses to maintain a mysterious aura was due to Zheng Lixiang’s prior instructions, all for providing the media reporters the biggest surprise during the film commencement ceremony.

Zheng Lixiang, being both a director and a businessperson, had a profound strategy in promoting the film. She spared no effort in leveraging Huo Sining’s fame, maintaining her mystery to reveal her identity at the ceremony, which would maximize interests and create the biggest sensation to captivate the audience’s attention.

Huo Sining herself was also a businessperson, so she understood Zheng Lixiang’s reasoning fully. Having signed the contract, she wouldn’t act out of turn. She would comply with Zheng Lixiang’s arrangements as long as they didn’t infringe on her bottom line or principles; otherwise, she had no issues.

To ensure that news wouldn’t leak out, Huo Sining’s room was booked personally by Zheng Lixiang, and Zheng Lixiang personally managed all dealings with Huo Sining without delegating to others.

Therefore, apart from Zheng Lixiang, no one else in the crew knew who the female lead was, not even the producer.

Of course, the film’s primary investor Zheng Qinghua was aware since Zheng Lixiang invited Huo Sining to act in the movie when they were in Venice, with Zheng Huaqing present at the time. He was also informed about the lead in the film.

But these father and daughter had already agreed to remain silent. No matter who inquired, they kept tight-lipped, and until the day of the commencement ceremony, not a word about the female lead was divulged. The level of secrecy was so high that even the reporters and media were deeply impressed.

Until the commencement ceremony, when Huo Sining stood before the cauldron, bowing to offer incense alongside other actors, facing the media reporters’ microphones and cameras, one reporter posed a sharp question:

”Miss, I heard from Director Zheng that you’re new to the entertainment industry, whereas I know that Su Lingxue had tried to vie for the female lead but was turned down by Director Zheng Lixiang. So, may I ask, what did you rely on to secure the female lead role?”

The previous questions from the reporters were quite normal, but when it came to Huo Sining, the tone changed abruptly. Huo Sining wasn’t naive; she realized something was off.

With Shangguan Zhuo’s previous reminder, Huo Sining quickly surmised that this reporter was likely sent by Huan Rui.

His question carried a strong targeting intent, and once he spoke, it immediately attracted doubt and ambiguous looks from the other reporters, who seemed to believe she acquired the role through shady means.

Meanwhile, Su Lingxue deliberately displayed a disappointed expression, even casting Huo Sining a look filled with slight disdain and contempt as if affirming the reporters’ suspicions.

It appeared that Huan Rui aimed to taint her with scandal, ready to smear her reputation.

Zheng Lixiang’s expression turned dark, whereas Huang Jingwen subtly smirked, evidently pleased with the situation.

Huo Sining internally sneered and noticed Zheng Lixiang seemed about to speak for her. Huo Sining quickly intervened:

”How did I secure the role? Actually, I didn’t strive for it at all. I was honeymooning in Venice and happened to encounter Director Zheng’s movie participating in the Venice Film Festival. Then I met her, and she personally invited and strongly recommended me to play the female lead.”

The reporters found Huo Sining’s explanation incredibly implausible. Zheng Lixiang was a company director and the movie had investments over a billion; it seemed illogical that she’d humble herself to invite an uninitiated newcomer to play the female lead.

The questioning reporter felt he had caught the newcomer in a lie upon hearing Huo Sining’s explanation. Unable to resist, he glanced at Su Lingxue, who subtly nodded at him, making him ready to pursue victory and follow up with more aggressive questioning towards Huo Sining.

However, before he could voice his question, Huo Sining turned to Zheng Lixiang with a radiant smile, leisurely removed her sunglasses from her nose bridge, and said:

”Director Zheng, these awful glasses, better not wear them anymore, or they might really mistake me for a fledgling girl.”

As soon as Huo Sining removed her sunglasses, the reporters were collectively dumbfounded. The Huan Rui operative geared to attack was frozen on the spot, unable to react for a long time.

Even the staff and participating actors were all left in astonishment.

Especially Su Lingxue’s side; upon seeing Huo Sining revealing her true identity after removing her sunglasses, her face instantly turned pale, filled with panic and tension.

Shangguan Zhuo quickly came to his senses and couldn’t help but display a wry smile.

No one had anticipated the female lead would be her!

On his way here, he worried that this girl could be disadvantaged, being played by Huan Rui. This concern turned out entirely unnecessary.

Though Huo Sining wasn’t part of the entertainment circle, this girl had continuously dominated the entertainment headlines domestically. From her recent grand wedding to the FLW outdoor fishing tournament a few days ago, she attracted much attention.

This girl is truly a versatile talent; gambling, treasure appraisal, fishing, magic—she’s proficient in all. Now she’s even ventured into acting.

This was indeed a thorough surprise. Upon realizing the female lead was Huo Sining, the reporters’ doubts vanished.

No one would ever suspect Huo Sining of securing a role through underhanded means.

Even if granted tenfold courage, no one would dare apply unscrupulous means to Huo Sining. Her wedding video was recently on the internet, as those high-ranking officials and business tycoons attended her wedding with Gu Xu. Her background was formidable; few would dare provoke her!
