Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1718: Chapter 1621: Film Studio

After dealing with the balsam issue, Huo Sining thought she could finally catch her breath, but to her surprise, she had just returned to the Magic Capital to take a break when she received a call from Zheng Lixiang.

It turned out that once Zheng Lixiang returned to the country, she couldn’t wait to start preparing for the filming of ”The Legend of the Mermaid.” Since Huo Sining agreed to join the cast, even Zheng Huaqing invested a substantial amount of money.

This was why Zheng Lixiang’s crew was able to be quickly established; she notified Huo Sining as soon as the crew was formed.

Feeling helpless, Huo Sining could only set off for the filming location Zheng Lixiang mentioned, where the shoot would be taking place, the Meishan Film and Television Base.

After arriving in Meishan, Huo Sining moved into the suite arranged by Zheng Lixiang and signed the contract.

Zheng Lixiang, busy meeting with others, didn’t linger. She left hastily after handing the full script of ”The Legend of the Mermaid” to Huo Sining.

Huo Sining skimmed through the script, and a smile unconsciously curled on her lips.

Just as Huo Sining had previously suggested in Venice, Zheng Lixiang modified the script to include elements like the Water-Repelling Pearl, tears transforming into pearls, and Jiaoxiao. With these elements added, the entire story seemed more complete and engaging.

It seemed that the screenwriting team at Zheng Lixiang’s company was impressive, capable of perfecting the script in such a short time, prompting Huo Sining to admire Zheng Lixiang’s efficiency.

The shooting was set to start the next day, but Huo Sining didn’t know who the other actors were. However, she wasn’t familiar with people in the entertainment industry, and she didn’t really care to ask Zheng Lixiang, thinking she would meet them anyway after filming started.

Huo Sining’s arrival in Meishan didn’t attract much attention.

Unlike other actors, despite her fame, there were rarely any reporters following her.

This had much to do with Huo Sining’s current status. Joining the Gu Family was equivalent to entering an official protective area. With Chen Yu being part of the publicity department, any movement was known almost immediately.

Reporters didn’t dare to gossip about the Gu Family. If they secretly followed, they might not even remain as reporters.

Therefore, when Huo Sining arrived in Meishan the day before filming, no reporters knew she was coming, and they didn’t know who the leading actor of ”The Legend of the Mermaid” was.

After checking into the hotel, Huo Sining focused on memorizing her lines. She wasn’t overly mindful like those actors; after going through her lines a few times and feeling confident, she put down the script. Casual about informing Zheng Lixiang, she slung on her bag and headed out to explore Meishan.

The film base had several crews shooting. Huo Sining observed with interest.

This was her first visit to a filming base, and seeing the retro buildings and realistic ancient city walls, she found it quite novel.

She even sneaked into a crew to watch them film a scene up close.

The big scene took many takes, and the director’s voice was hoarse from shouting. Actors were suspended by wire stunt equipment floating around, which fascinated Huo Sining. So this is how TV shows and movies were made.

After several rounds around, until evening, Huo Sining had dinner at the hotel’s first-floor restaurant before planning to return to her room.

Reaching the elevator, she heard commotion in the lobby. Curiously, she couldn’t help but step closer and lightly tugged on the sleeve of a guest on tiptoe watching the scene, softly asking:

”Why are there so many people? What happened?”

The guest glanced at Huo Sining and, as if afraid of missing something, turned back again:

”It seems some celebrities have arrived, quite a few media reporters are waiting in the lobby, and there’s a crowd of fans. This celebrity is quite a big shot; even the hotel’s lobby manager and concierge are waiting to receive them.”

”A big star? Who?” Huo Sining’s curiosity was piqued.

The guest shook their head. At that moment, someone outside shouted, ”They’re here, Shangguan Zhuo and Su Lingxue are here together!”

Upon hearing the shout, the fans who had come following the rumor squealed and rushed into the hotel lobby, with many guests who got the news also heading towards the lobby.

The media wouldn’t fall behind. Reporters holding microphones and photographers snapping shots quickly followed, with thunderous calls and screams echoing behind.

Seeing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but shake her head and swiftly stepped into the elevator.

This was a filming base with countless actors shooting daily; a few big stars coming wasn’t surprising, right?

However, Huo Sining indeed knew Shangguan Zhuo and Su Lingxue.

The former was an international superstar, crowned Best Actor, starting as an action star and now famous worldwide, indeed a big shot.

The latter, a former child star, had just graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and was already a well-known second-tier actress in the country, rising with immense potential.

The simultaneous arrival of these two at the hotel naturally attracted attention.

But Huo Sining didn’t feel it had anything to do with her. She wasn’t one to enjoy the hubbub, especially seeing the crazy fans; she was even less inclined to join in, instead heading back to her room via the elevator.

Unexpectedly, at around ten o’clock at night, just after Huo Sining finished bathing and was about to sleep, someone knocked on her door.

A girl staying alone in a hotel certainly wouldn’t open the door casually, and Huo Sining felt it unlikely anyone would be visiting so late, so she didn’t rush to answer.

Sure enough, the knocking stopped after a few tries.

Huo Sining thought it was just a confused guest knocking on the wrong door and didn’t pay attention, but just as she lay down, there was another knock.

This time, it was a rough and urgent banging that jerked Huo Sining awake.

A bit displeased, she considered that maybe Zheng Lixiang urgently needed her, so yielding to the possibility, she got up and went to the door, unlocking it.

Yet as she opened it, she found two complete strangers standing outside instead of Zheng Lixiang.

Being awakened by strangers in the middle of the night wasn’t pleasant, so she asked coldly:

”What is it?”
