Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1705: Chapter 1609: Resolution

”All three parties are backing this woman, even the Imperial Capital has been alerted. The chief of the police station was so scared he wet his pants. Because of this incident, both the chief and the team leader of the precinct have reached their limit. Do you think you can mess with someone like that?”

Klimo was shaken and too frightened to speak. He didn’t believe Fu Yuanshan would exaggerate in such matters. If the truth of the matter needed to be verified, a simple check would reveal if it was true or false. Fu Yuanshan had no reason to lie to him.

But precisely because this matter is likely true, Klimo became even more alarmed. He never expected that the trouble Edwin got into this time would involve such formidable individuals. Even if he were given several lives, he wouldn’t dare stand up for Edwin!

Fu Yuanshan saw Klimo’s emotions and looked sympathetically at Edwin before continuing:

”However, Edwin deliberately provoked these two individuals. Even if he was in the wrong from the start, he should have just left quietly and kept a low profile. No one would trouble him then. But instead of being discreet, he tried to bite back and even attempted to extort those two women for compensation. Isn’t that asking for trouble?”

At this point, Klimo had no dissatisfaction left. He nodded vigorously in agreement with Fu Yuanshan’s words.

Failing to harass women and even getting a hand broken was nothing glorious. Edwin didn’t sneak away quietly; instead, he was so flamboyant that everyone found out. Truly incomprehensible.

Moreover, a dislocated arm can be treated by an orthopedic doctor for little money. Yet Edwin demanded one million in compensation; has he gone mad with greed?

At this moment, Klimo couldn’t remember his determination to have Fu Yuanshan stand by Edwin. As a mere vice-consul, how could he clash head-on with the goddaughter of a nation’s leader? That would be overestimating himself, wouldn’t it?

Realizing this, Klimo broke off his conversation with Fu Yuanshan and approached Matthew, whispering in his ear.

After a while, the anger on Matthew’s face turned to shock and confusion. He glanced awkwardly and guiltily at Fu Yuanshan, but no longer dared to speak of compensation or apologies.

”Matthew, what’s wrong?” Noticing Matthew and Klimo’s odd expressions, Edwin and the other two team members exchanged glances, sensing something amiss. Edwin, most impatient, asked directly.

Matthew hesitated before finally shaking his head dejectedly, saying, ”Edwin, let’s go. We’ll get your arm fixed first, and I’ll explain the rest on the way.”

Hearing this, Edwin’s face stiffened with anger and said, ”Weren’t we supposed to get compensation and an apology before leaving? Why did your attitude change as soon as this yellow monkey showed up? Did some lousy director promise you benefits?”

Edwin’s face twisted with rage as he glared viciously at Fu Yuanshan and angrily at Matthew and Klimo.

”Enough! Edwin, you were wrong first. This matter has nothing to do with us. We rushed over to mediate on your behalf, and you don’t even appreciate it. Instead, you insult us. No wonder you got your arm twisted!”

Matthew’s face darkened. Initially, he was willing to stand up for Edwin, but because Edwin was at fault and the people he provoked were of such high status, Matthew grew increasingly dissatisfied with Edwin.

By this point, Matthew just wanted to get Edwin out of there because the embarrassment was unbearable.

If Edwin continued making a fuss, he might anger the two women inside the booth. If they pursued charges against Edwin, the police might end up arresting him.

Given the women’s status, such outcomes weren’t impossible, especially since they had surveillance footage. Accusing Edwin of sexual harassment or even attempted rape would be perfectly justified.

But if it came to that, no matter how hard FLW tried, they wouldn’t be able to protect Edwin.

Upon hearing Matthew’s words, Edwin fell silent, his eyes filled with suppressed anger and grievance. But with no one supporting him, he felt absurd and bewildered.

However, things had reached this point, and arguing further was meaningless. Matthew signaled the two team members to take Edwin away.

Edwin was led out of the bar and into a car.

But Edwin kept his head down the entire time, concealing his expression, but everyone sensed his intense irritation. No one dared provoke him at this moment.

With the situation resolved, Fu Yuanshan finally relaxed. He returned to the booth where Huo Sining was and reported the outcome to her.

Hearing Fu Yuanshan mention surveillance footage, Huo Sining raised an eyebrow with a faint smile, ”I didn’t know there were cameras in the bar’s corridor. It’s so dim there; would it capture anything?”

Fu Yuanshan chuckled cunningly:

”No cameras? Haha, from the time I entered till I left, how could I have had time to ask the bar manager about surveillance? But Edwin’s guilty conscience meant he wouldn’t dare confirm it, even if it didn’t exist. He doesn’t have a leg to stand on, so I just fabricated evidence to hold him at bay.”

Huo Sining nodded in agreement. Thinking about tomorrow’s fishing competition, she glanced at the deeply asleep Su Qingqing with sympathy, saying, ”It’s sheer bad luck, provoking Qingqing. This way, he didn’t get to enjoy anything and ruined his competition instead.”

Fu Yuanshan agreed, ”Considering Matthew’s concern for Edwin, Edwin probably had a good shot at winning. As they say, courting disaster leads to disaster.”
