Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1746: Chapter 1648: Oolong

Huo Sining’s lips were pressed into a line, her gaze fixed on the tablet in her hand, constantly refreshing the screen.

It’s been three hours since the incident, but from start to finish, Huan Rui hasn’t spoken a word to defend their artist.

Huo Sining knew very well that Su Lingxue bought drugs from that Fei Biao just to frame her, but claiming that she used them herself—Huo Sining was one hundred percent unconvinced.

Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen were vain and selfish, eager to climb up the social ladder, but to say they were involved in drug trafficking—lend them ten guts, and they wouldn’t dare.

Women like them are only fit to play dirty tricks and target unsuspecting newcomers in the entertainment industry; when it comes to big issues, they’re at a complete loss.

Yet, as the quasi-leading lady of Huan Rui, Su Lingxue was abandoned like a pawn in this major event, with no support, and even the celebrities under Huan Rui were keeping their distance, afraid of any association with her. It shows that Su Lingxue’s reputation in the entertainment industry was indeed poor.

“Will Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen really be sentenced?”

Xie Yuxing felt a bit uncomfortable and couldn’t help but ask.

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining looked up in surprise at Xie Yuxing: “You think they shouldn’t be sentenced?”

Xie Yuxing shook her head: “No, they’ve done wrong and should be punished. I know this kind of outcome is rather…”

Huo Sining understood what Xie Yuxing meant and sighed inwardly.

Why bother, divine vengeance might be forgivable, but self-inflicted harm—who could be at fault?

If they hadn’t provoked her, how would they have ended up in such a situation?

However, Huo Sining knew that sending these two to jail indeed seemed too harsh, so after hesitating, she decided to call Gu Xu and ask him to speak with Director Xing, if possible, to be lenient.

But to Huo Sining’s surprise, before she could make the call, Gu Xu’s call came in:

“Huan Rui bailed them out.”

Huo Sining was stunned: “Bail? You’re saying Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen were released? How is that possible? The evidence is conclusive; they could directly be prosecuted. How could they still be bailed out?”

Gu Xu was baffled as well: “I wanted to ask you what’s going on. Director Xing just called me and said that the box of ‘Pearl Powder’ actually contained milk powder, not drugs.”

Huo Sining was dumbfounded: “Milk powder? Is it real or fake? Could there be a mole within the detective bureau who swapped it out?”

Gu Xu denied: “That’s impossible, Director Xing’s people have clean backgrounds, and I’ve had them watched. With such a major issue, under the very nose, it’s impossible for this to happen. The box must have contained milk powder when the police found it.”

Huo Sining’s mind was in knots; she couldn’t grasp the situation: “But it doesn’t make sense. Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue definitely bought drugs, didn’t Yu Fei monitor their communication devices? Huang Jingwen indeed conducted transactions with Fei Biao, and there’s evidence of financial exchanges. This cannot be faked, and they’re not brainless enough to use milk powder to frame me.”

Gu Xu agreed that the situation was inexplicable, asking: “When you found that box in your room, did you check what was inside?”

Huo Sining rolled her eyes: “How could I check? The situation was urgent; I just grabbed it and sent it out. Given that a box suddenly appeared in my room, obviously I thought it must be drugs, never expected it would be milk powder, plus I’ve never come into contact with drugs, how could I tell if it was real or fake?”

Gu Xu thought her reasoning made sense too; in such a situation, seeing an unexpected box would naturally lead someone to assume it contained drugs, without time to consider further.

“This is indeed strange because the evidence found was milk powder, making it unfeasible for the detective bureau to continue questioning them. And Huan Rui hired lawyers to bail them out, leading to a big Oolong mess.”

Gu Xu’s voice was deep, clearly dissatisfied with this result, but given the reversal, even with ability, meddling in the detective bureau to turn white into black was impossible.

Nevertheless, those two being out doesn’t mean the matter can simply be brushed aside.

Gu Xu’s eyes were filled with gloom; Huo Sining was his Achilles’ heel, who he wouldn’t hurt at all—so how could he allow anyone to bully her?!

Those two women dared to resort to such a vicious method to harm his wife; it’s utter foolishness!

After hanging up Gu Xu’s call, Huo Sining wore a strange expression, contemplating the entire situation before finally pinpointing the key to the reversal to one person.

She instinctively looked at Xie Yuxing: “Sister Xing, where’s your assistant?”

Xie Yuxing was startled, suddenly remembering her assistant was complicit, not just Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen.

“She’s still in my room, I could call her up,” Xie Yuxing suggested.

Huo Sining waved her hand: “Let me join you to go down; I have something important to ask her.”

Xie Yuxing found it odd but didn’t ask further; after all, Yang Suxin was indeed guilty, and whether Huo Sining wanted to question or report her, Xie Yuxing had no grounds to stop it.

Upon reaching Xie Yuxing’s room and opening the door, Yang Suxin indeed was still there, but her eyes were swollen, evidently from crying. Seeing Xie Yuxing enter, Yang Suxin shivered involuntarily, instinctively lowering her head, avoiding eye contact.

However, unexpectedly, from behind Xie Yuxing, another figure emerged, directly grabbing Yang Suxin’s arm: “Su Xin, I have questions for you!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Su Xin trembled with disbelief, looking at Huo Sining incredulously: “Miss Huo, how come it’s you, weren’t you…”
