Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1723: Chapter 1626: Fake Couple

From the look in her eyes, you can tell that this Su Lingxue is full of calculations.

Moreover, Huo Sining also understands very well that if Su Lingxue was originally aiming for the female lead role in ”The Legend of the Mermaid,” then her sudden appearance must have upset Su Lingxue. Under normal circumstances, it’s already good if this woman doesn’t hate her, but it’s absolutely impossible for her to forgive and get along with her in such a short time.

Therefore, Huo Sining estimated in her heart that this Su Lingxue approached her with other motives and intentions.

As Zheng Lixiang envisioned, Huo Sining joining her team as the new film ”The Legend of the Mermaid” lead actress was immediately reported by major media outlets on the launch day and became the top headline on the entertainment section of the portal websites in less than half a day.

”The Legend of the Mermaid” became popular even before airing, and earlier, the magic show ”A Tribute to the Mermaid Princess” performed by Huo Sining at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala was dug up again and went viral once more.

Many people, upon learning that Huo Sining would be playing the Mermaid Princess in the movie, expressed their support and anticipation. Many people were very approving of Zheng Lixiang’s casting choice, exclaiming that Huo Sining was the perfect fit for the Mermaid Princess role in their hearts.

Moreover, since Zheng Lixiang’s movie is based on the Oriental Pearl, the past events at sea involving the Oriental Pearl were also unearthed again, and many were curious about the survivors of the maritime disaster at the time. Some reporters even collected information from multiple sources and intentionally sought out the passengers from back then, hoping to discover the real inside story of the maritime disaster from them.

For a time, Zheng Lixiang’s film became the focus of widespread attention, making the investors of the film overjoyed and relieved.

In fact, when Zheng Lixiang first sought investment, many investors were not particularly optimistic about her sudden entry into the commercial film market as an art film director. Without her father Zheng Qinghua’s substantial contribution, it would have been difficult for her to gather all the funding needed for this film production.

The investors reluctantly put in some funds, all thinking the money might go to waste. However, seeing Huo Sining’s massive influence alone, these investors felt unexpectedly surprised.

Of course, along with the surprise, many privately regretted.

If they had known Zheng Lixiang had such ability to bring in Huo Sining, they would have gladly invested in the entire movie. Even if it didn’t break even, befriending Huo Sining would connect them with the Gu Family, Zhou Family, and Lu Family, making it a trade where they’d never lose.

However, it’s too late for them to regret now, as their extensive considerations at the time caused them to miss the best opportunity to connect with the higher-ups.

Huo Sining didn’t expect such a sensational effect either. Although she knew that Zheng Lixiang chose her as the lead actress, it was mainly because she performed the magic ”A Tribute to the Mermaid Princess” on the Spring Festival Gala years ago, and Zheng Lixiang needed her popularity to boost the hype of ”The Legend of the Mermaid”.

However, even after taking on the lead actress role, Huo Sining had no real intention of entering the entertainment industry. Acting in ”The Legend of the Mermaid” was just a casual endeavor, agreeing to it purely out of interest in the film.

Unlike those actors, although Huo Sining is quite famous, rarely do reporters follow her around.

This has a lot to do with Huo Sining’s current status. She joined the Gu Family, which means entering an official protective zone. Chen Yu, being in the propaganda department, can know any developments basically at the first moment.

Reporters don’t have the guts to report gossip about the Gu Family, and if they secretly try to photograph, they might not even be able to keep their jobs.

Without the interference of reporters, Huo Sining is quite happy filming on the set. It was after joining the crew that she realized what being an actor truly was; behind the glamor was such hardship.

Huo Sining plays the mermaid, and as she herself is a mermaid, and with her suggestions, the character aligns closely with her, so most of her acting is essentially her real self, making the filming process relatively smooth.

Zheng Lixiang invested a lot of financial resources and connections into this film, and the biggest star is the male lead, Shangguan Zhuo.

This man is tall and handsome, with delicate and bold features, especially with his mesmerizing dark eyes that make him extremely attractive.

As soon as this guy appears, he mesmerizes all the women, driving the lead supporting actor Chen Yu to exclaim that he wants to leave the crew, as all the girls are drawn to Shangguan Zhuo.

Upon hearing Chen Yu’s childish complaints, everyone couldn’t help but laugh, and even Shangguan Zhuo looked helpless. It’s not his fault for being handsome, but shouting about it isn’t right either.

Su Lingxue is the most affectionate towards Shangguan Zhuo among the women. Whenever Shangguan Zhuo appears, this woman invariably cozies up to him, offering coffee, bringing towels, sometimes even intimately holding Shangguan Zhuo’s arm.

However, every time Su Lingxue shows up, Shangguan Zhuo’s face turns extremely unpleasant, with dark clouds swirling in his eyes, and he rarely acknowledges Su Lingxue even in front of others.

The nearby staff have grown accustomed to this, but Huo Sining’s gaze towards the two was somewhat peculiar.

Huo Sining, with memories of future events, although knowing little about the entertainment industry, remembers some major entertainment events clearly.

Su Lingxue and Shangguan Zhuo did indeed sell the image of a golden couple in earlier years, hyping up their screen couple status for many years, which many people outside supported. Despite their nearly ten-year age difference, both are entertainment giants, so media and fans alike anticipated their union.

But at the end of 2013, Su Lingxue was suddenly exposed having secret meetings with a Hong Kong and Taiwan male tycoon late at night, and even scandalous photos were exposed, causing a huge stir in the entertainment industry.

Originally, Huo Sining also thought that Shangguan Zhuo and Su Lingxue were really a couple and sympathized with Shangguan Zhuo for being cheated. But now, witnessing their bizarre interactions, Huo Sining has a new perspective. Regardless of the specifics, it’s clear that Su Lingxue and Shangguan Zhuo are definitely not a couple.
