Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1710: Chapter 1614: How the Hell Did That Work?

The American team set off first, and several members were eagerly searching for a suitable spot to drop their lines. Upon finding an ideal area, they instructed the boatman to head that way. Meanwhile, the team members took out their fishing gear, baited the hooks, and cast their lines with a posture full of fighting spirit.

After casting the hooks into the water, these members finally glanced around the water’s surface, trying to locate the Huaxia team.

However, to their astonishment and bewilderment, just as they turned around, they saw that Huaxia woman named Huo smiling brilliantly at them from ten meters away. The odd and eerie quality of that smile sent a slight chill of unease through the American team members.

”What’s going on? What’s the Huaxia team doing? Why are they still following us?”

”This reservoir is so big. Why are they still following us?”

”Really haunting us persistently. What exactly do they intend to do? Are they planning to constantly cause trouble so that we can’t catch any fish and directly lose the competition?”

”Who cares what they do, we only need to focus on catching our fish. These people obviously have the mindset of dragging us down with them!”

”Exactly. The spot we’ve chosen definitely has fish. They might not be as lucky. If they want to trail behind us, let them. I even hope they’ll tag along. When we catch fish, I bet those Huaxia people will be hopping mad. It will be quite a spectacle!”

”Haha, I just love seeing those yellow monkeys getting all worked up! Just thinking about it feels great!”

The members of the American team chatted casually, envisioning in their minds the scene of the Huaxia team throwing themselves into chaos.

On the other hand, Huo Sining seemed in no rush. After instructing the boatman to follow behind the American team, she remained unfazed and casual throughout, taking her time.

In the FLW fishing competition, the organizers provide the fishing gear, and also supply bait to the participants. However, the rules do not require the use of the provided bait, so most contestants prepare their own secret bait mix beforehand rather than using the organizers’ bait.

After taking over Tang Ling’s fishing gear and bait, Huo Sining realized that Tang Ling’s bucket contained his own custom secret bait.

As for the composition of these baits, Huo Sining had no clue, but they looked quite similar to the cakes she fed to Heitan.

So, while the boatman sped towards the American team’s yacht, Huo Sining quietly infused a good amount of Spiritual Energy into Tang Ling’s bait while no one was watching.

Once the green Spiritual Energy was injected into the bait, Huo Sining grabbed a handful of bait, pressed it into a small round ball, and hooked it onto her fishing hook. By this time, the American team’s yacht had stopped.

The Huaxia team’s boatman had been instructed to closely follow the American team and maintain a distance of ten meters.

Being a seasoned boat operator, he strictly adhered to the Huaxia team’s command, maintaining the perfect distance—not too far, not too close. Seeing the American team halt, he promptly stopped the boat as well.

Zheng Huaqing and others were waiting for Huo Sining’s next move, only to see her leisurely raise her fishing rod after the American team baited their hooks. With an extremely amateur hand motion, she cast her line.

The hook landed several meters away on the water surface, wobbled as it sank, and even the float on the fishing line didn’t stand upright.

Seeing this, Huo Sining looked a bit embarrassed. She shrugged at Zheng Huaqing beside her and chuckled awkwardly, ”Oops, a blunder, a blunder!”

”...”

Seeing this situation, the expressions of the Huaxia team members darkened, even Zheng Huaqing looked utterly speechless and stunned, his mouth involuntarily twitching.

The audience in front of the TV watching the broadcast was also stunned, remaining in shock for a good half-second before they reacted.

”Pfft—”

”Hahaha—”

”Oh my, Queen, the perfect image I had of you in my mind just shattered!”

”Seriously, is it supposed to be this funny? With skills like this, it’s even worse than a rookie, yet she dared to boast about making the American team not catch a single fish. Are you sure you’re not here for a comedy act?”

”Oh my, I’m truly amazed. That casting skill—could it be any worse? It’s over, the Huaxia team is genuinely done for this time. Thinking of winning like this? Only if the sun rises from the west!”

”I don’t even know what to say about this. Sigh, can’t bear watching anymore. Why bother watching? They’re going to lose for sure!”

”Exactly, what strategy is this? Following the American team, they chose a good spot, you’re following them, and the fish will be caught by them. Isn’t this just foolish? What kind of senseless move is this?”

”This Huo Sining is obviously here to cause trouble. She doesn’t understand anything, just blindly directing. It would have been better not to have her participate. Without her, at least the Huaxia team might catch a few fish and save some face. Now that she’s here, I estimate by the end of the competition, the Huaxia team will be utterly disgraced!”

”...”

A group of netizens began to criticize online, clearly disappointed in Huo Sining. Initially, there was hope she might create a miracle, but seeing her unprofessional casting, that hope was shattered. They felt the future of the Huaxia team was bleak, with nothing to hope for.

Some viewers with fragile minds already sensed trouble, grabbing the remote to change channels, unable to bear watching the Huaxia team being crushed by the American team anymore.

Yet just then, someone online suddenly exclaimed, ”Look quickly! Something’s not right—”

”Wow, are you serious!”

”Bitten, it really took the bait!”

”The float is still out there on the water, hasn’t even sunk yet. How is this possible?”

”What fish it is isn’t certain yet; let’s wait and see!”

A group of people starting shouting online, and the viewers who were about to change channels realized that, just as they were covering their eyes a moment ago, Huo Sining’s rod actually caught a fish, and it was aggressively biting.

After other participants cast their lines, usually, the fish would tentatively nibble a few times to check the safety before biting down fully.

However, after Huo Sining cast her rod, the hook hadn’t even completely sunk into the water when a fish was already on the line. The fish was like a starving ghost reincarnated, biting fiercely as if afraid another of its kind would snatch it away.

The float, originally bobbing on the surface, was quickly pulled under the water by the fish, and the long fishing line was tautly stretched.
