Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1715: Chapter 1618: Team Tournament Champion

Time ticked away bit by bit, and those team members were directly made dispirited by Huo Sining, even outright giving up, allowing time to slip away.

Until the referee blew the whistle, announcing the end of the competition, the Huaxia team finally breathed a sigh of relief, while on the American team’s side, everyone was crestfallen and looked ashen-faced.

From the beginning of the match, the Huaxia team’s ship never let the American team’s yacht fall behind, always staying leisurely just behind the American team.

Of course, everything indeed happened as Huo Sining had mentioned before the competition: during the four-hour fishing period, the Huaxia team astonishingly did not allow the American team to catch a single fish, not even a shrimp.

No one could explain what exactly was going on, even the professional fishing experts invited by the television station couldn’t elucidate the phenomenon.

Online platforms were buzzing, with everyone speculating that Huo Sining must have done something that caused the American team to suffer secretly, but exactly what Huo Sining did, no one knew.

The more it was like this, the more curious the netizens became, because everyone was well aware that fish are different from other animals.

Land animals like dogs, cats, and rabbits at least possess some degree of intelligence; even if their IQ isn’t high, they can be domesticated. Over time, those animals might develop intuition, form conditioned responses, and could even follow human commands.

But aquatic animals like fish, being cold-blooded and ectothermic, are utterly incapable of developing intelligence and emotion, much less follow human commands, because fish have extremely short memory spans, lasting only a few seconds. Although they are very alert, they can’t comprehend human nature like primates.

So it was speculated that Huo Sining must have used some method to make the fish follow her.

However, in a competition setting, whatever methods are used, each relies on their own abilities. From an outside perspective, Huo Sining hadn’t conducted any foul play, so even Edwin couldn’t find fault with Huo Sining and had to admit defeat.

The final results were evident: although the other members of the Huaxia team had caught very few fish, adding Huo Sining’s spoils made their score far leading, surpassing the second place by more than thirty fish. This number was undoubtedly a record for team events in many years of the FLW competition.

The referees and organizers were stunned by the data, and even the host and commentator excitedly announced the results from the podium, exuding pride in the Huaxia team’s victory.

Although this FLW was held in the Magic Capital, the Huaxia team’s home turf, they didn’t really possess any inherent advantage. Before the competition began, neither the host nor the commentator expected that the Huaxia team could win this team match.

Firstly, outdoor fishing competitions are physically demanding and focus heavily on endurance, which is a weakness for Huaxia people. In terms of strength and endurance, Europeans and Americans are veterans.

Europeans and Americans are naturally robust, much larger compared to Asians, so outdoor fishing is more suitable for them, whereas Huaxia people are at a disadvantage in this area.

Secondly, this time the Huaxia team was short one member, which affected their overall strength in comparisons with other teams. Additionally, once the competition began, the most combative player, Tang Ling, was injured in the arm by the American team, disabling him from continuing, which further weakened their strength.

So at the beginning of the match, the host and commentator weren’t optimistic about the Huaxia team, even mentally preparing for the Huaxia team to come last.

Unexpectedly, out popped a Cheng Yaojin situation in the middle, and it turned out to be a female Cheng Yaojin, directly reversing the situation, leading the Huaxia team to victory, catching a swarm of bass and relentlessly pursuing, leaving the American team nowhere to retreat, in utter disarray.

Seeing the scores displayed for the American team on the electronic screen, and then observing the American team members returned to the shore, their faces pale, refusing to interact with anyone on the field, even the host and commentator felt immense sympathy for the American team’s plight.

Anyone could empathize with the frustration, imagining any participant entering a competition only to be mastered by a woman, while the opponent charges forward triumphantly, leaving oneself spinning in circles, yielding nothing. Such feelings would definitely not be pleasant for anyone.

However, the more the American team felt frustrated, the more it made the Huaxia team’s glory shine, especially when the electronic screen displayed the huge gap between the Huaxia team’s achievements compared to the American team’s, it commanded absolute respect.

A group of fishing enthusiasts felt great admiration towards Huo Sining, even nurturing a hidden ambition.

This Huo Sining must have mastered some special method to achieve such great results in the fishing competition; if they could know this method, they would undoubtedly be invincible in upcoming matches.

Yet, such ambitions mostly remained in the realm of thought, as they were very aware that if Huo Sining indeed had such a method, with Huo Sining’s astuteness, there’s no way she would share such a valuable thing with them.

Even Zheng Huaqing didn’t ask Huo Sining how she accomplished it. Though filled with curiosity and confusion, he understood boundaries and knew that if Huo Sining truly possessed such a method, it might be her key to livelihood and definitely wouldn’t be easily taught to others, so he prudently avoided asking.

Other Huaxia team members, while also envious, were after all not very familiar with Huo Sining, so they couldn’t bring themselves to ask such a question.

Moreover, Huo Sining’s willingness to step in and help them win this match was indeed a kind act; they knew better than to be greedy.

Today’s match was a group event, so no matter how outstanding individual performance might be, it didn’t count towards personal scores. Even though Huo Sining’s results were extraordinary, the glory wasn’t exclusively hers, as these scores were recorded as part of the Huaxia team’s accomplishments as a whole, holding little personal association with Huo Sining herself.

The Huaxia team won first place in the team competition, earning a reward of fifty thousand US dollars, which brought immense joy to the members, as smiles spread across their faces.

Yet Zheng Huaqing understood that this achievement was brought about by Huo Sining, and truth be told, the prize money should all be distributed to Huo Sining.
