Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1713: Chapter 1617: Is That Fish Raised by You?

”There’s a fish biting the hook!”

At that moment, someone from the American team exclaimed, suddenly standing up, their face filled with uncontrollable excitement.

Upon hearing this, everyone looked toward the American team, even the drones flew over, capturing a close-up of the team member and his fishing rod.

Meanwhile, the Huaxia viewers in front of the television sank inwardly, silently thinking, ”Trouble, the bass shoal is indeed beneath the American team’s boat.”

Edwin, hearing the commotion, was also pleased, flashing a sly smile toward Huo Sining’s side.

However, what puzzled everyone was that after the American team member’s exclamation, the float showed no further activity.

Unlike the previous feeding frenzy when Huo Sining fished in this area, this time the American team arrived, but after some tentative bites, the fish stopped biting altogether.

Everyone stared unblinkingly at the American team, yet after two or three full minutes, no fish were hooked, let alone pulled down underwater.

It was then that a commotion suddenly erupted from the Huaxia team.

While a group of spectators and drones focused on the American team, just ten meters away from their yacht, Huo Sining leisurely reeled in her line, a large blue fish unabashedly frolicking at the surface, stirring small waves.

No matter how the fish struggled, it couldn’t resist the human pull, eventually getting slowly pulled ashore. Huo Sining calmly used a net to scoop the fish out of the water.

Another big bass was caught, and seeing this bizarre scene, everyone was stunned, mouths agape, unable to find words.

Huo Sining’s expression remained unchanged, not even glancing at the American team, she changed the bait and cast again, and everyone saw a familiar scene – within seconds, another fish was hooked.

One fish, another, then another...

Even though the American team took over Huaxia team’s former spot; even though Huo Sining often made mistakes in casting, unable to get the float upright; even though Huo Sining lacked any fishing technique; even though she appeared quite delicate, her fishing speed was faster than any angler at the entire FLW event!

”Damn, what’s going on, wasn’t it said the fish were under the American team’s boat?”

”This is against nature, she’s a freak, it’s like the fish are obeying her down there!”

”I can’t take it anymore, let me laugh a bit, the American team is utterly dumbfounded, they surely didn’t expect things to turn out like this!”

”Ahahaha, I see the American team captain’s face turning green, what a sour sight!”

”Any fishing experts here, can you explain what’s happening? I’m dizzy, can’t figure out what’s going on!”

”Right, it’s so strange, why does Huo Sining hook a fish as soon as she casts, while the American team gets ignored? Are these fish raised by Huo Sining’s family?”

”Even domesticated fish aren’t this obedient, this is so bizarre.”

Not only were TV viewers confused, but even both Huaxia and American teams were equally dumbfounded.

It seemed like Huo Sining’s personal show, every time she cast, fish instantly bit, while the fish on other team members’ lines didn’t even sniff the bait, and even when one or two occasionally tried, they quickly shunned it.

Now, Huaxia team members were overjoyed, while the American team was nearly boiling with rage!

”Referee, we suspect the Huaxia team’s bait contains fish-addictive special additives!”

Unable to hold back after witnessing the scene, Edwin shouted loudly about problems with Huaxia team’s bait.

The FLW’s rules allow contestants to bring their own bait, but no special additives beyond typical bait – like drugs or fish-exciting substances are allowed. Violations can result in disqualification and a five-year ban from FLW outdoor competitions.

So Edwin’s complaint quickly drew organizers’ attention, who immediately sent people to investigate the composition of Huo Sining’s bait from the Huaxia team.

Upon hearing Edwin’s protest, Huo Sining smiled slightly, the irony in her eyes even more pronounced.

Calmly continuing to fish despite Edwin’s complaint, she showed no panic or tension, and even welcomed the organizers’ inspection, as if it was merely a routine check.

Seeing this, Edwin sneered. He believed Huo Sining was putting on a brave face, but she must be petrified inside.

He couldn’t fathom, if the bait didn’t contain special ingredients, why did the fish only bite the Huaxia woman’s hooks, yet not sniff theirs? Something was definitely fishy!

Astonished spectators watching on TV felt tense upon hearing Edwin’s complaint, their hearts skipping a beat.

Even these viewers sensed something odd, since it defied logic. If Huo Sining’s bait was clean, then why only her hooks were bitten? Were these fish part of some beauty club, choosing only to nibble on rods handled by her?

Yet, everyone’s suspicion and worry were needless, as organizers promptly sent experts with professional equipment, taking samples from Huo Sining’s bait bucket, concluding the bait was ordinary, compliant with competition rules.

”No, that’s impossible! If there’s no issue with the bait, why do the fish flock to her hooks only?”

Upon hearing this result, Edwin’s face changed instantly, utterly disbelieving the innocence of Huo Sining’s bait.

The organizers stood firm, telling Edwin if he doubted their instruments, he could consult a professional agency for another test!

Edwin was speechless, face stiffening as he hung his head and fell silent.

Throughout Edwin’s fuss, Huo Sining remained unperturbed, steadily catching several more fish. Seeing Edwin continue to stir trouble, Huo Sining couldn’t help but smile:

”Mr. Edwin, if you don’t cast soon, the competition time will run out.”
