Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1722: Chapter 1625: Foil

Huo Sining playing the role of the Mermaid Princess is, of course, the perfect choice.

At this moment, the reporters seemed to have returned to last year’s Spring Festival Gala, recalling when Huo Sining appeared on stage wearing a long gown, performing magic in a giant glass water tank like a real mermaid.

With her prior performance setting the stage, everyone comparing Su Lingxue now would not dare to contradict by saying the female lead of the movie ”The Legend of the Mermaid,” Su Lingxue, was more suitable.

Even Shangguan Zhuo believed that Zheng Lixiang selecting Huo Sining to play the Mermaid Princess was the perfect match.

However, those reporters knew clearly that with Huo Sining’s status and position, she had no need to earn money in the entertainment industry; her casual hand stitches were enough for an average person’s lifetime expenses.

But it is precisely because of this that the reporters felt even more shocked; none of them thought the female lead Zheng Lixiang had hidden for so long turned out to be Huo Sining.

After Huo Sining became famous overnight at the Spring Festival Gala, countless companies wanted her to shoot commercials, television shows, and movies, but all these offers were rejected by Huo Sining. Later, Huo Sining even found an agent specifically to reject these invitations.

Since then, everyone knew Huo Sining would not develop in the entertainment industry.

Although at that time Huo Sining was already as popular as the midday sun, making people envious and jealous, she did not want to enter the circle, and no one could truly force her in.

However, many people regretted Huo Sining’s squandering of her fame, knowing how many people in the entertainment industry would give anything to be famous, but no matter how hard they try, they just can’t achieve it.

Huo Sining clearly had such good resources, but she didn’t care at all, how could one not feel angry and regretful?

Afterwards, Huo Sining appeared several times on the entertainment headlines, but everyone had grown used to it and knew this girl wouldn’t develop in the entertainment industry, so they had little feeling about it, only sighing secretly to themselves, or saying few words, that the girl’s life is too good.

Thus, when Huo Sining truly appeared before them as the movie’s female lead, these reporters were shocked, each as if they had taken a shot of adrenaline.

Because they knew clearly that once this news was released, it would definitely cause a big sensation.

At the same time, they truly admired Zheng Lixiang for being able to persuade Huo Sining to emerge, as so many people had failed before, yet Zheng Lixiang succeeded.

However, at this moment, the reporters still didn’t know that the reason Huo Sining agreed to appear in this movie was because the movie held special significance for her.

Once Huo Sining revealed her identity, the reporters were instantly thrilled, and the original focus of the launch ceremony, Shangguan Zhuo and Su Lingxue, were directly squeezed aside by the reporters. All microphones and flashlights were directed at Huo Sining, and the reporters’ questions came one after another, turning it into a small press conference for Huo Sining.

Shangguan Zhuo, as a gentleman who had been fighting in the entertainment industry for many years, naturally had better composure than others, so when these reporters ignored him to interview Huo Sining, he did not show any displeasure but instead smiled sincerely at her.

But Su Lingxue was different; her original goal was to replace Huo Sining and take over the position of the female lead.

Therefore, she and Huan Rui tried to bribe the reporters in an attempt to tarnish Huo Sining’s reputation through smearing.

But she never expected that the plan would die before it even started.

Would the granddaughter of a high-ranking official need to climb up in the entertainment industry through backdoor rules? Such a report, if written, would probably amuse the audience to the point of no return to reality.

Su Lingxue felt hatred indeed, yet helpless, because with Huo Sining’s identity so prominent, even if she had the courage, she didn’t dare touch an official’s granddaughter, unless she wanted a swift demise.

The reporter bribed by Huan Rui targeting Huo Sining at the launch ceremony was already scared dumb, fleeing quietly from the side once he realized the chaotic situation.

What a joke; if this actress is truly a newcomer, helping Huan Rui wouldn’t be a big deal, but this woman is from the Imperial Capital’s official family, he wouldn’t dare tarnish her, it’s a death wish.

Neglected by reporters, this launch ceremony became a side note, Su Lingxue feeling unconvinced, standing close by, head down to hide the jealousy and resentment in her eyes, unsure of what she was thinking.

Because everyone’s focus was on Huo Sining, no one noticed Su Lingxue’s oddness, yet Huo Sining seemed to sense something, glancing towards Su Lingxue with a faint smile.

After the launch ceremony, the filming officially started.

Though Huo Sining wasn’t from the entertainment industry, due to her high-profile wedding with Gu Xu, known to everyone, few didn’t know her identity, so once she joined the cast, both actors and staff were courteous, even though Huo Sining was new, no one dared speak out against her.

However, though they were polite, Huo Sining wasn’t naive enough to think everyone was good, and once in the crew, she remained cautious.

Despite not being in the entertainment industry, she knew it only appeared glamorous, with unknown disorder underneath; she had learned this from Li Youyou’s tactics at the Venice Film Festival.

An actress with little fame had such capability; naturally, Huo Sining could deduce the nature of others in this industry.

Therefore, towards this group’s members, especially the actors, Huo Sining maintained caution, fearing being used, especially with Su Lingxue, she kept an extra distance.

Indeed, soon after the launch ceremony, Su Lingxue proactively approached her to make friends, trying to win her over, even bringing her agent Huang Jingwen to apologize.

Though Huo Sining said nothing, she inwardly felt disgusted by these moves.

Despite her young age, Huo Sining had sharp instincts, and with the Water-Repelling Pearl’s protection, she sensed clearly that Su Lingxue’s approach wasn’t genuine but had ulterior motives.
