My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2137: Chapter 1970: For You and For Her

”I once told mom and dad that this would always be their home, and now I hope this will forever be my wife’s home, no matter when she can return to my side, no matter if her master ever meets me again in this life, I hope this will be her lifelong home!”

Xia Jing didn’t expect her husband would so calmly let her go away this time. He knew each of her requests seemed almost impossible for him to fulfill, although she said she no longer wanted any contact with this man, deep down she still quietly hoped, hoping that one day she could meet the man she once loved again. Her heart would never forget this man, even though he said he had long forgotten her, she just didn’t want to face her own heart. How could the inner pain allow someone else to constantly sprinkle salt on it?

Zhang Zhentian forced a smile from his lips directed at his wife. He knew that this might be the last time he would see her in his life, but he didn’t regret it. Instead, he felt this was a good result. Everything was because of him that it turned out this way, and now all these things would finally end because of him.

Xia Jing saw her husband’s rather difficult forced smile. Her heart was still in pain. No matter what, he was the man she once loved the most. But today things have turned out like this. How could his heart not ache? Although ultimately all of this wasn’t mainly her fault, she still bore some responsibility.

”Actually, you don’t need to waste time with me. You can go find a woman more worthy of your efforts. She’ll be better than me. Unlike me, everything I do only brings you sorrow, and I’ve hurt you for so long. You should live a happy life belonging to you and enjoy your happiness. Don’t waste time on me; I’m not worth it.”

”Actually, deep down, you still care about me, don’t you? You just don’t know how to talk with me, how to continue living with me. It used to be because I hurt you, so you feel the two of us together aren’t suitable no matter what. But I want to ask, does your heart still have my presence? I just need one sincere word, no more difficulty for me, okay? I’m begging you!”

”Indeed, my sincere heart contains you. How could I simply forget you? You were the person I lived with for over ten years - my love for you is sometimes like water spilled, impossible to recover. Everyone understands this principle. We’ve become the way we are now. No one should continue making things difficult for each other. You should have your happy life, and I should wander alone seeking my own horizon. Maybe it will be hard, maybe it will be painful, but I still want to challenge myself. I don’t want to waste my entire life here.”

”No matter what things you’ve done, what words you’ve said, I’ve long ceased to blame you. I’ve forgiven you for a long time, but I didn’t know how to express these words to you. I felt if I told you these words in advance, then my dignity would be gone. I have always been such a prideful woman. For my dignity, I can even hurt the person I love most, who has never left the depths of my heart.”

”Being able to hear your sincere words, my heart is deeply moved. Thank you for telling me these things. If you’re out alone, be careful and never casually trust strangers. You can be very naive, easily believing whatever others say, and easily falling for tricks. So always stay alert around others, don’t trust anyone in the world but me. I’m afraid you’ll be deceived, and then you’ll be sad and hurt, and I won’t be able to be by your side immediately.”

”Ultimately, all this resulted in the current situation because of me. So no matter what, I must take full responsibility. I’m letting you go now, letting you leave here, just hoping you understand that I still love you. My love for you is no less than before; in fact, I love you even more because you gave me such a perfect life. Although you won’t be with me anymore in the future, accompanying me, I am still grateful to you, thanking you for bringing me so many years of joy.”

”I still say, if you’re tired of wandering outside, remember to come home. Where I am is your home. I will be waiting here steadily for you to return to me. I will never again force you or make things difficult for you. I will silently support every decision you make; I will watch you achieve every goal you desire through your effort. When you’ve accomplished all your goals, I will quietly be proud of you, because you are my wife, my lifelong wife, and no one can change this fact. Perhaps sometimes I am indeed very stubborn, but please believe I truly love you sincerely...”

Xia Jing knew how hard it was for Zhang Zhentian to say these words to her. And now he’s willing to say them voluntarily, proving he’s truly opened up and wishes to allow her a path to explore her desired horizon on her own. Should I really be happy? Why do I feel a bit unhappy now instead? Is it because I haven’t forgotten him?

”Since you said so, I won’t say anything else. I only hope during this time you can happily live the life you desire. Make sure to live well. Who knows when I won’t want to wander outside anymore and might wish to return to your side? I hope you won’t mind me then...”

The two people who once loved each other the most still ended up on this path. No one expected it would turn out this way. The deeply loved ones ultimately parted because of mistrust, leading their marriage to doom. If they had truly loved each other more from the start, would things now not have become so challenging? They clearly didn’t need to part; they could have continued to accompany each other in life. Yet ultimately they chose to be apart, entering their own solitary lives without the other’s presence.

Elder Zhang, hearing their conversation, finally felt relieved. The result is neither good nor bad, yet perhaps it ultimately helps cultivate trust between them, making it a positive outcome. He can finally be at ease.

I have awaited a long time for family harmony and prosperity, for happiness and a joyful family. Yet ultimately, because of me, the happy family crumbled.

This lifetime I wish for nothing else except for her to return to this family, truly allowing me to have a happy life.
