My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2102: Chapter 1935: It’s All My Fault

Every signal you once gave me has made my tears flow.

Zhang Zhentian himself doesn’t know what he should do exactly, his biological father is coming to find him, wanting to take him back home, but when he recalls the time he actively went back home, his father rejected him again and again at the door. Even though it’s painful inside, he’s even more conflicted and agonized. Many things make him think about these issues repeatedly, and often his heart cannot accept many things that happen, but there is no way out, because his father’s ultimate choice is not him. Yet now his biological father unexpectedly says these words to him; how could his heart not be moved? But how can he completely manage to do this properly?

Sometimes it’s like this, maybe you feel the things you’ve done were unintentional, not intentionally trying to make things become like they are now, but in others’ eyes, since you made such a choice back then, why regret now? This is where every person’s perspective differs, yet at this point, everyone’s heart feels conflicted too, what should be done? On one hand is one’s own dignity and pride, on the other is the warm family, what should one choose?

Zhang Zhentian finally decides to call Old Master Zhang; he feels no matter what decision he makes, he should inform his biological father. Regardless of whether the decision is good or bad, at least he must respect himself and avoid being someone impolite, let alone ungrateful. He absolutely cannot let the world label him as such a callous villain.

When Old Master Zhang at home received the call from his biological son, he was absolutely overjoyed inside. He believed that with his painstaking requests, his son would surely rush back home, because he also knew as a father he was not intentional. He knew his son longed to be with the family, for when he went to find his son, he saw the longing in his eyes. But when he heard what his son said, his previous ecstasy was instantly frozen. Turns out, it wasn’t what he thought inside; he didn’t understand what kind of hatred made his son unwilling to come back despite his pleadings.

”Zhentian, have you decided to come back? If so, then quickly pack and come back. If it’s inconvenient for you, you can tell me and I’ll come to pick you up. As long as you can come back, everything can be discussed...”

Zhang Zhentian felt quite distressed upon hearing his father say this, even though he ultimately chose not to return home, seeing his father’s ecstatic demeanor made it hard to share such a cruel truth with him. Perhaps he truly realized his mistakes? Should he rethink again, why make family relations so terrible when things could be resolved amicably? At times, can he really bear it inside? Why not question his own heart’s desires?

”Dad, it’s not what you think; today I’ve called not to say that I want to come back, but to tell you I don’t want to. I feel like I’ve become used to life outside all these years. When I initially returned home, regardless of your reasons, you consistently shut me out. At that time, you didn’t let me come home, proving that inside you didn’t really want me back. So why should I disturb everyone’s peace now? I think living alone outside is quite good; there’s no need to make small matters big. My wants are actually simple — for a happy life undisturbed by anyone. I know your words are heartfelt, but I still can’t give up my prejudice against you. After so many years of being shut out, I can’t let it go. I’m sorry, Dad, my current decision might surprise you deeply, and be disheartening, but I hope you understand my intentions. Since I’ve made this decision thoughtfully, I won’t regret it. This decision is deeply considered. I can’t bear to say such harsh words face-to-face, for I can’t bear to see the hurt expression on my father’s face and as a son still abandoned you callously. I can’t. My heart has begun to grow old with time, unclear if it’s age or what else, but I hope for your understanding; you know the things I’ve done aren’t without reason — I merely don’t know how to return to the past!”

”Don’t you miss your biological son and grandson? Do you know the decision you make today might lead you to regret someday? If you don’t return today, your son might choose never to forgive you in this life. Do you truly want your son to hate you for a lifetime? Do you know how much he’s longed for his father to guide and help him all these years? Yet you, wandering outside for so long, have you not roamed enough? Do you wish to continue drifting outside, unwilling to have a home? Do you know your every decision always breaks the hearts of those who love you unconditionally, who always clean up the mess silently behind you? I don’t want to say anything; I just want to ask you — when doing things, can you never act so selfishly again? Do you think being selfish is good? Your selfishness doesn’t just harm yourself, but always those who love you most. Do you realize others love you because they care, treating you as family, valuing you? Yet you hurt others’ hearts this way — aren’t their hearts human too? If someone’s heart dies, then for life, they won’t be moved by anyone — do you understand? Do you really want others never to be moved by you again?”

Just pretend it’s a joke you made; I can’t forget it no matter what. The wounds you inflicted on me, Zhihan, do we still have a future?
