My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2112: Chapter 1945: Missed

I missed your love for a long, long time. I’ve always been hoping to run into you on some street and hold your hands tightly.

Zhang Yichen knows that Xia Jing must have gone off to cry secretly by herself again. He knows that although Xia Jing appears very strong on the outside, her heart is actually exceedingly fragile, unable to withstand any harm. Yet this time, the harm to Xia Jing is just too great. Perhaps in her heart, she will never be able to forget her husband’s abandonment of her in this lifetime!

No woman can endure such pain. The marriage she painstakingly built, the feelings she worked hard to maintain, shattered just because of a simple mistake. Who could accept that? Maybe in Zhang Zhentian’s eyes, his wife is a strong person who doesn’t cry, no matter the difficulties she faces. Yet he could never have imagined that his wife is utterly heartbroken this time due to his abandonment, crying secretly in her bedroom every day and night, and no one knows!

Xia Jing is really at a loss, not knowing what she must do to make her husband change his mind. Perhaps it was predestined for them to have this ending, only that it came a little sooner than she expected, catching her off guard.

Zhang Zhentian, for the sake of his son, repeatedly searched for Xia Jing but she just wouldn’t tell him. He truly didn’t know where to look for his wife.

On this day, Zhang Zhentian once again found his father, hoping to probe if his son had told his father Xia Jing’s location.

Old Master Zhang felt a bit baffled to see Zhang Zhentian return to the Zhang Family. How could his son suddenly come back without any prior notice?

Seeing his father coming down the stairs, Zhang Zhentian excitedly walked toward Zhang Mo.

”Why did you think of coming back on your own today? Is there something you want to ask me?” Old Master Zhang didn’t believe his son would come back here as if nothing happened unless he wanted to know the truth about something.

Upon hearing his father’s words, Zhang Zhentian felt his father indeed knew something, which made him even more agitated. He excitedly grabbed his father’s hand and asked, ”I want to ask you, do you know where Xia Jing went?”

Old Master Zhang felt baffled upon hearing Zhang Zhentian’s question and spoke to Zhang Zhentian, ”Zhang Zhentian, are you kidding me? Your own wife is missing, and you’re coming to tell me this? What does your wife going missing have to do with me? How would I know where your wife went?”

Zhang Zhentian felt a bit confused as well. Doesn’t his father know where his wife is? Then why was he acting like he knows everything when speaking to him?

”Didn’t Yichen tell you where Xia Jing went?” Zhang Zhentian asked suspiciously.

”Don’t you find your questions amusing? Even if I know, so what? If I don’t know, so what? Why would I tell you? The decision to divorce her was yours, not because I forced you into it. Even though she has now chosen to leave, why bother bringing her back just to hurt her again? Perhaps in Xia Jing’s heart, she’s already disheartened by you.”

”I knew you definitely know where she went. Since you know, could you tell me? I am willing to do anything as long as she can come back to me!”

Old Master Zhang couldn’t suppress his curiosity hearing his son’s words. He wondered what his son meant by willing to do anything.

”Then tell me, what are you willing to sacrifice to bring her back to your side?”

”As long as she can come back to my side, I can never step into the Zhang Family home for the rest of my life. As long as she can come back to my side, I can go my whole life without acknowledging you or my son...”

Old Master Zhang was stunned. Does that really mean so little to Zhang Zhentian? For a woman, he would abandon himself time and again.

”Zhang Zhentian, have you forgotten? You were the one who wanted a divorce. I didn’t stop you, but you resolutely decided to divorce your wife. Since you made such a decision then, what qualifications do you have to regret it now? Don’t you know a man’s word is steadfast? How can you keep going back on things? Do you always regret your decisions after making them? Do you have a sense of responsibility as a man? To be blunt, even if you abandon me and your son now to find her, she might not continue living with you. If a woman is determined to divorce because of a small mistake from her husband, she cannot forgive her husband, because such hurt cannot easily heal. I advised you to think twice before making the decision, yet you persisted. Can repenting now change anything? Your wife has already left. Wherever she is, she likely won’t live with you anymore. If a woman is heartbroken by her husband, her heart dies, and it can’t be easily revived. Do you think a dead heart can be revived?”

Zhang Zhentian had to admit his father made sense, but he just couldn’t remain indifferent. His wife left unexpectedly. His heart couldn’t stay calm. No matter how far, he needed to find his wife. Even if it took years, he wouldn’t stop searching until the day he found her.

”Dad, since you don’t know where she went, consider today as my farewell. I’ve thought it through; I can’t lose the woman I love the most. Despite what she’s done to hurt me, I can’t let her go. I aim to find her. The world is vast, and I know the difficulties in finding her, but I can’t simply give up. Over a decade of marriage isn’t easily forgotten. Every day, every night, she stood by me. Without her, my life loses its luster. I want to spend an eternity with her, never parting. Now I’m going to find the woman I love the most. While I’m gone, take care of yourself. Wait for me to bring my wife back, so our family can lead the happy life we want.”

”Since you’ve made your decision, I won’t stop you. But remember, think twice before you act. Don’t hurt yourself or the person you love the most...”

I know we can no longer find any reason to embrace. All the pain has already spoken. I don’t know if that is enough. Perhaps we can still hold each other tightly like yesterday. Can you forgive all my mistakes? Can I still hear you say you love me?
