My Alleged Husband

Chapter 388: Chapter 367 Getting Heavier_1

Time flew by, and Ran Zhihan’s belly gradually grew as time passed. Now, three whole months have gone by, and one could clearly tell whether the child inside her was a boy or a girl. Watching her belly slowly expand, she was filled with happiness. It seemed she had become even more radiant than before. All this time, every day had been a joy with tender care from her grandfather, her own parents, and her in-laws, as well as the love of her husband, Yichen. There was an endless array of foods every day, and whenever she saw the nourishing dishes everyone prepared for her, she felt a little amazed inside. When had she ever been treated so well? Just because she was pregnant, did her treatment improve so greatly? Whatever she wanted to eat, there it was. If she had known, she would have bravely decided to get pregnant sooner, just to enjoy these days a bit longer.

”Wife, you’re looking good today. How’s the baby? Is it kicking you in there? Have you been sneaking out to have fun behind my back?” Zhang Yichen asked Ran Zhihan.

”The baby has been very good today, hasn’t kicked at all. I feel heavier than before, like my waist can hardly support my body. Sigh, we still don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl. If it’s as active as this every day, it would be fine if it’s a boy. But what if it’s a girl? It’s very rare for a girl to be so active at this stage. If it really is a girl, I don’t know who would dare to marry her in the future.”

”A girl would be great, girls tend to look like their mothers, and you are so beautiful. Who wouldn’t be won over by that? You are beloved by everyone, flowers bloom in your presence. Anyone who sees our daughter will surely fall for her at first sight and want to take her home to be their wife. Besides, my daughter will be the world economy king’s daughter. Who would dare to reject her? And who wouldn’t want her? Everyone in the world is no fool. They all know that connecting with the Zhang Family can only lead to a soaring life!”

Ran Zhihan couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing what her husband said. Where was such self-praise coming from? How could their daughter withstand such a compliment?

”Aren’t you embarrassed? There’s no subtlety in boasting about your own daughter like that, so obvious! Don’t you know how to praise a bit more indirectly? It’s not that I dislike your compliments for our child, but you shouldn’t be so blatant. Who knows if our baby will turn out to be a little lazy, or as good-looking as you think? It’s simply an unpredictable outcome. The child isn’t even born yet; how can you decide so early? Let’s wait until the baby is born to see what to do about it!”

”Yes, yes, my lady wife, what you say goes. Whatever you say is right. How could I ever disagree with you? Every word you say is correct. I must obey you, how could I ever betray your wish?”

”That’s more like it. Seems my teachings haven’t been too bad, you’re quite teachable. When our son is born, I intend to teach him myself. I want to train him to be just like you. Sometimes I act so overbearing, sometimes I blame you for my own mistakes, and sometimes you might think I’m being irrational. But I hope you can understand that I act this way because I love you too much, I value you too much... So much so that I end up doing things that hurt you. Husband, let’s not ever fight again. Let’s live happily together with our child, isn’t that wonderful? Look at how blissful our life is now: we have a child, the fruit of our love, you are successful in your career, and I am fulfilled in love and work. Why wouldn’t I be happy? Many are envious of me, thinking I’m the luckiest woman in the world. I have my husband’s affection and a child born of our love, and my career is soaring, the envy of many. In fact, I feel good about myself. I see no one else’s husband is as good to them as my wife is to me. Perhaps you think I’m a little naive, but which woman doesn’t want to show off a little bit of happiness in front of others? Who doesn’t want others to know how happy they are?”

”Wife, I’ve never thought you were overbearing. I just feel that you are very feminine when you work so hard, making sacrifices for me. It pains me to see you working so hard for my sake. I always thought that I could give my wife everything she wants, but I later realized, I can give you anything but I cannot fulfill your dreams for you; your dreams are yours to achieve.”

”I know, and it’s precisely because you’ve understood all of this that you let me stay with you and let me pursue my own goals after marrying you. That is the happiest aspect of my life. There’s so much I can’t change, things that are predetermined, but I don’t regret any of it. Because every day I’m with you, I live incredibly happily. Your happiness makes me happy, your sadness makes me more upset than you, your heartaches are more important to me than my own. My life revolves around your emotions.”

”Fool, we are husband and wife. It’s said that ’spouses are like birds in the same forest, who fly separately when disaster strikes,’ but I have seen a different kind of couple in us. You are my greatest fortune. Marrying such a wife as you, I would die without any regrets. Because of you, my life is rich and colorful. You have added a shade of brilliance to my life, and seeing that brilliance makes me incredibly happy. Many times, I can’t change the outcomes I have to face, but I can control my own life. I want to walk this path with you, to create a happy future for us that will make everyone in the world envious...”
