My Alleged Husband

Chapter 383: 362 Chapter Three Years’ Time_1

Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian, after ceaseless persuasion by Old Master Zhang, finally chose to remarry. What they did wasn’t just about wanting to continue living by each other’s side but also about wanting to give their son a complete family. Deep down, they both understood that any child would absolutely wish for their parents to always be by their side. They believed this to be true for their son as well; for their son’s sake, they ultimately should make a sacrifice. Having been deprived of their love and affection for over a decade, how could it just fade away into nothing? Didn’t they owe it to their son to make amends? Their son had given so much, and they had suffered so much hurt, all because of them. How could they possibly live their lives in peace? How could they not sacrifice for their son’s sake? They could no longer be as selfish as they had been before. In the past, they could abandon their kin and everything else for their own matters, but not anymore. They now had something that tethered them, and that was their son. To them, their son was now the most important thing.

After Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian moved back into the Zhang Family home, they lived happily together. Time flew by, and before they knew it, three years had passed. Today marked the third anniversary of the three-year promise shared between Ran Zhihan and Zhang Yichen.

”Zhihan, today marks the three-year promise we made to each other. I can hardly believe how quickly these three years have passed. In this time, you’ve achieved a great deal, and you’ve contributed a lot to my business. I can tell that you truly love me. But now that these three years are up, I hope you can answer me honestly, do you still want to continue living with me? Do you still want to spend the rest of your life with a foolish man like me?” Zhang Yichen said, holding Ran Zhihan’s hand tenderly.

”Yes, time does fly. In the blink of an eye, our covenant is reaching its final day. Today is the day we make a significant decision. I’d also like to ask you, do you still want to live with me? I have no money, no power, no influence, but I have a heart that truly loves you. Are you willing to spend the rest of your life with someone who has nothing?”

”Fool, you are the woman I’ve yearned for. How could I not want to continue living with you? Don’t you know how much I’ve given for you? You are the only woman in my heart, my only wife for life. Whether you choose to continue living with me or not, you will always be my wife, and that will never change. Believe me, I will always be by your side, as long as you’re willing to work together towards a future that belongs to us. Then, we will have our own precious symbols of love. The things that happened three years ago might still cast a shadow in your heart, but three years have passed, and I believe those shadows have long since vanished. You’re stronger than I thought. Over these three years, I’ve seen your perseverance, your determination to never give up on anything, I’ve seen a whole new you, a new version of my wife, my pride, my greatest happiness in life. Being able to live with you is a blessing from my past life, and I will never let go. If you want to leave, tell me now, because today is your last chance. Once today passes, you can never leave me again.”

”Don’t worry, I will never leave you, no matter what. You are the man I’ve wanted most in my life. I want to be with you, not because of your money, your status, or your family background, but because of your character. I know how noble you are, and I see that nothing can easily sway the decisions you make. Your determination to be with me at any cost shows how much you care for me. Yet, I acted petulantly three years ago because of your concern, and for that, I’m sorry. Every time I think about it, I feel guilt for making you leave home and for worrying Grandfather because of me. But three years have passed, and I hope we can leave those issues behind us and just live happily together. Don’t you remember your cousin’s three children? They’ve been a tremendous help to us. If it weren’t for those three brothers mediating for us, how could we be where we are today? Actually, I’ve kept a secret from you. When we argued and I left home that time before three o’clock, I went to see the eldest son. He urged me to trust in you, trust that you did what you did out of love. It was because of his words that I chose to believe in you. Do you know? He truly helped us a lot on our journey of love, always wishing for us to live well. At first, he had a slight fondness for me, but gradually, because of your relationship, he began to treat me like his own sister. I’m truly grateful for him, and because of him, we have our happiness today. Shouldn’t I be thankful? We should live well, fulfilling their wishes. Would it be right for them to help us so much, only to end up disappointed?”

”Oh, you little silly thing, still keeping secrets from me, huh? Come on, spill it. What else haven’t you told him? Confess and you’ll be spared, resist and you’ll face harsher consequences. If you confess, I’ll let you off the hook. But if you don’t, well, you’ll have to face the family law when you get home.”

”Hey, why so fierce? Oh my, I’m so scared. How can I dare to go home with you? I don’t want to live with you anymore, haha, just kidding. Come chase me, you come chase me!”
