My Alleged Husband

Chapter 380: Chapter 359: Going Home_1

Ran Zhihan quickly called Old Master Zhang to tell him that Zhang Yichen had agreed to return home. After hearing this, Old Master Zhang was simply too happy to think about anything else, his grandson had finally agreed to let his granddaughter-in-law come back home; it was truly a great joy!

”Husband, thank you. We should consider this matter in the past, and let’s not make a big deal out of it anymore, okay? Let’s let go of everything and just have each other. You’ve already said that we won’t have our own children within three years, so I also promise you, within these three years, I won’t force you to be with me, to have our own children. I just hope you can keep your promise, and after three years, you will definitely join me in having the fruit of our love!”

Zhang Yichen nodded and said to Ran Zhihan, ”Rest assured, since I promised you, I will definitely do it. I will not go back on my word. It is precisely for this reason that I agreed to your parents’ request, which I must also fulfill. I can’t let your parents think I’m an insincere hypocrite. They would never feel at ease handing you over to me. I want your parents to sincerely entrust you to me so that I can sincerely spend our lives together with you. Do your parents always worry that I might treat you badly? Then what’s the use of us being together? Your parents will always be worried, thinking that I’m not bringing you the best.”

”I really didn’t understand why you agreed to such unreasonable requests from my parents. But now I understand, it’s all for me. You’ve given up so much for our relationship, even accepting such terms. And yet, what can I do for you? I’ve been unreasonable, and that’s not right. I should always fulfill my responsibilities as a wife, be considerate of my husband, and understand everything he does is for me! Dear, the past is behind us now; let’s not cling to it any longer. The past is like clouds drifting away. Let’s not dwell on things that make us unhappy. Only by letting go and facing life with a cheerful heart can we have the best outcome, right?”

”Everything you’re saying is right. As long as you can stay at home, that’s enough for me. My requests are not many. I don’t want my wife to have to appear in public just to prove her capabilities. I want my wife to be able to peacefully enjoy a happy life at home, not having to struggle for her future livelihood. I just want to show everyone that I love my wife completely. I won’t let any harm come to her for anything, and I would never expect her to work tirelessly just to maintain our home. I can’t do that; I can’t bear to watch the woman I love, suffer mistreatment while doing it all for our family. Is it not good for you to simply be the wife of a CEO? A CEO’s wife has power, money, everything, which is much better than starting from the bottom and struggling slowly!”

”I know you have your struggles, and you’re doing all this for me. I don’t want our relationship to become awkward like it did before. After this matter, I’ve understood that as long as we can live together, even if you’ve agreed to those unforgivable conditions from my parents, what does it matter? As long as you are by my side, and I can see you every day, that’s enough for me. I’m not greedy, I don’t ask for much; I just hope my husband can always be happy, always smiling. I hope that every day with me, you can face me with the most beautiful smile and not feign kindness. Do you know? Seeing your bright smile means everything to me, not dissatisfaction time and time again...”

”Let’s not speak of this anymore. Grandfather is still at home waiting for us. Let’s hurry up and buy our tickets to go home. I believe Grandfather will be overjoyed to see us return together, and who knows, he might even greet us with a big hug!”

The two of them hastily bought their plane tickets and hurried back to their home. Upon arrival, seeing his grandfather sitting on the sofa, Yichen felt a pang of guilt. Why had he been so willful? Had he not run away from home, perhaps his grandfather would not have turned so pale overnight? His hair would not have become so white suddenly.

When Old Master Zhang saw his grandson and granddaughter-in-law returning, he was overjoyed and eagerly embraced Zhang Yichen, saying, ”It’s good you’re back, it’s good. You can’t be so willful anymore. You left like that, leaving your grandfather all alone here, what was I to do? I’m already so old, could you bear to let me spend my days in this big house, dying of loneliness? It was just a slap, my child. After raising you with so much effort, can’t I scold you?”

”Grandfather, sorry. I wasn’t considerate, I didn’t think things through. If I had considered your feelings, I wouldn’t have caused you such worry. From now on, I’ll never be so willful again, and I won’t run away from home. I will live well with my wife. You must take care. I’m sorry for turning you white-haired overnight. I’m sorry for breaking your heart over my issues. You’ve raised me with such effort, given me everything, and yet I treated you thus. You still hold me in such high regard. I really feel ashamed!”

”Silly child, as long as you’re back, that’s all I asked for. I don’t ask for much, just for you to come home. Sometimes, you really should contain your temper. How could a husband keep secrets from his wife? Since you decided to marry her, you should be honest with each other, right? I will not interfere with your affairs anymore, but I still hope that you will think carefully about many things and not make your wife troubled or sad. That’s the best outcome for me!”

”I understand, Grandfather.”
