My Alleged Husband

Chapter 352: Chapter 332 Give up persuading!_1

”Zhihan, thank you, but you don’t need to try to persuade your mother for dad anymore. Her mind is made up, and no one’s words will be of any use,” Zhang Zhentian said. ”Since your mother no longer has a place for dad in her heart, why should you intervene and make things difficult for her? I know you don’t want to see your beloved husband troubled or to have him caught between his parents, and I understand your intentions. A harmonious family is the foundation of all success, but now that your mother has made her decision, you both should understand that whatever she decides, nobody can change her mind. She won’t easily alter her decision!”

”Dad, I know mom is indeed stubborn, but I really don’t want to see our son caught in the middle and troubled. When I see him alone and distressed, I know what he’s thinking. He feels torn because of your relationship, which is why I’m speaking to you both today. These words are from the heart, not just for show. I believe that if you could reconcile, our family could truly live happily together!”

”Good child, Grandfather knows you are doing this for the happiness of the whole family, but since that’s the case, there’s no need to keep trying in vain,” Old Master Zhang said. ”Having a good granddaughter-in-law like you is a blessing I’ve earned in this lifetime. Even if I were to die, I wouldn’t have any regrets. Taking care of my grandson makes me truly happy.”

”Well, if both grandfather and dad say so, then I won’t try to persuade mom anymore. Since you’ve made this decision, it means you’ve thought it through on how to live going forward. However, I still want to say a few last words: Even if one pours their entire being into someone, if the end is self-made and self-consumed, you should still go on without hesitation. How will you know if you don’t try? How will you know if you’re truly incompatible if you don’t give them a chance? Feelings are fostered through compromise, not instantly perfect like a fated love. Easily given up love is not true love. If both parties put their hearts into it, no matter how many people interfere, you won’t part because you hold onto the deepest memories of each other. You always keep them at the deepest place in your hearts, and nothing will make you doubt or change that, unless you truly stop believing in the other person!”

Upon hearing Ran Zhihan’s perspective, Zhang Zhentian, Xia Jing, and Old Master Zhang were all amazed. Could this really be a speech from a young girl in her twenties? How could she understand so much, things that even they themselves did not fully grasp, despite being decades older? But, unable to articulate these thoughts themselves, they wondered if their confusion was simply a symptom of their age. If one cannot hold onto the ones they love most, what purpose do they have left in this world?

Zhang Yichen never expected his own wife to be so astute. How would he dare to trouble her in the future? If he were to oppress his own wife, wouldn’t he just be crushed by her dignity?

”Wife, you say you’re so smart—how will I ever dare to bully you in the future? If I do bully you, won’t I be crushed to death by you, and wouldn’t you torment me every day?” Zhang Yichen said jokingly.

”Silly husband, think about it, how could I bear to torment you? You are the man I love the most, I could give up everything for you. It’s for you that I’ve come this far today. If I can share this insight today, it’s because I believe that everyone present understands these truths. I just don’t want our moms and dads to go through any emotional torment. We’ve already experienced how much emotional torment can hurt. We’ve been through so much together to be able to stand side by side today—why should we let our parents endure the trials we faced between us?” Ran Zhihan answered Zhang Yichen with a smile.

”Mom and Dad, as your son, I have never interfered with any decisions between you two before. I hope today you can heed this piece of advice from your son: don’t give up on the love between you so readily. You love each other so much. You were willing to give up everything for the sake of each other’s freedom back then—there’s nothing you can’t let go now. Those difficult decisions that were so hard to make in the past, you managed to make them with a firm heart. Why can’t you do the same now? Don’t let yourself regret it for the rest of your life over any matter. Regret will only lead to more pain! I know what you want to say. I won’t hate you for what you’ve done to me before, because you are my parents. My wife has proven with facts that no matter what one’s parents have done, as their children we cannot hold grudges against them. It is because of our parents that we have life; without them, there would be no us today. No matter what our parents have done, we as children must be grateful to them and thank them with a heart full of gratitude and not with a resentment that seeks to blame them. I really hope that on this significant day of my marriage, my mom and dad can reconcile, to no longer haggle over past grievances. That’ll only lead to mutual hurt. You both say you want to make amends to me—then please do so in this matter. Give me a complete family, so that my future son can also receive his grandparents’ love. Don’t let my child grow up knowing that his grandparents are divorced; that would cause him pain as he grows older...”

”Yichen, it’s not that Mom doesn’t want to agree with you, but there’s really no way. Your dad’s decision has killed my heart, and a person whose heart is dead can’t fall in love with that person again! Once, I could give up everything for him, even my kingdom, but he cruelly abandoned me over a lie. This proved that I meant nothing to him. Since he holds me in such disdain, why should I stubbornly cling to him?”

”Since Mom you are still so determined, unwilling to get back together with Dad, then I have nothing more to say. I just hope in the future you won’t regret today’s decision!”
