My Alleged Husband

Chapter 367: Chapter 347: Gone?_1

”Grandfather, please be at ease, I’ll do my best to find him and bring him back, but I just hope that when he does come back, you won’t ever hit him again because of me. Doing so would only make him resent me more and worsen the relationship between us as a couple. Let this be the last thing you do for me, your granddaughter-in-law!” Ran Zhihan said to Old Master Zhang.

Old Master Zhang also felt that what his granddaughter-in-law was saying made a lot of sense. Now that there was no other option, he could only take things one step at a time. He agreed to her terms for the time being, to prevent the even worse outcome of his grandson also leaving him, which would truly leave him with nothing.

”Alright then, I’ll agree to your request for now, but you must promise me to bring my precious grandson back. As long as he can return home, I won’t interfere in anything between you two anymore. I will let you handle your lives on your own. I just don’t want my grandson to become numb and unrecognizable — someone who I can’t recognize as the child I worked so hard to raise, the child I watched grow up. I know his character best, but now, his personality has changed so much that I can’t accept it. When you see him, please speak well on my behalf, ask him to forgive my impulsiveness that led to slapping him, and tell him not to bear a grudge against me. I had no other choice.”

”Grandfather, I understand. I will definitely bring him back. Now that we have come to an agreement, I should set off to find him. Although I cannot be sure if I will find him, because the world is so vast and there are so many places where he might be, places that I might not know!”

Old Master Zhang nodded and said, ”Then you should go, my dear. Grandfather wishes you good luck and that you may bring your husband back home safely.”

Without saying anything more, Ran Zhihan left home. She had no other path to take now but to search for her husband, yet the world was so immense. Her husband could be in any corner, but where should she begin searching? She didn’t necessarily know every secret place he had...

Ran Zhihan thought it over and decided to give Lei Jian a call.

Seeing the call from Ran Zhihan, Lei Jian answered, ”Zhihan, what made you think of calling me today? Are you missing me?”

”Hmm, I’m not in the mood for jokes. I have something serious to talk about!”

Lei Jian could hear the helplessness in Ran Zhihan’s voice. ”What’s wrong? Did you two have a fight? That doesn’t seem right. Didn’t you just finish celebrating your wedding? How could newlyweds be at odds so quickly?”

”It’s not about whether we fought or not, it’s that he has disappeared from my sight, and I don’t know where he has gone. I just wanted to ask you, in this vast world, where should I start looking for him? Do you have any idea where he might go? I need your help to find him.”

”What happened between you two? I remember that before your marriage, things were always good between you, not to the point of arguing and running away right after the wedding. Is there some misunderstanding?”

”It’s a long story, but the gist of it is... How can I put it? I simply couldn’t hold back and ended up arguing with him loudly, and because of that, he now looks like this, ran away from home, and I can’t find him anywhere. The world is so big, each place with its secret spots, and I might not know every one of his hideouts. Where should I go looking for him now? Seeing Grandfather so lost and sorrowful at home, witnessing his heartache from self-blame, my heart is truly uneasy. Right now, I just hope to find him quickly, because only then will Grandfather stop mourning.”

”So, that’s what happened. But I’m afraid I can’t help you with this. You know exactly who he is. If he doesn’t want to be found, you could search the whole world, to the ends of the earth, and still not find him because he is an economic tycoon. You are husband and wife, why let small issues lead to disputes? Such friction could not only harm your marital relationship but also affect the long-term bond you share. Let me give you a piece of advice, stop arguing over trivial matters. It’s not easy for two people in love to end up together, and if they have been brought together by destiny, then they’ll want to be with each other. If it’s been decided by fate, what is there to pick at? You and Yichen are such a couple, predestined by the heavens. Don’t let anything else alter your relationship. Doing so will only undermine the belief in each other and diminish your place in each other’s hearts. Do you really want to watch your husband fly far away just days after your wedding? Are you willing to let your loved one go like that? I believe you don’t want to see that happen, as it would be contrary to natural justice. You’re so compatible and love each other so much. You’ve come this far on the strength of your love. No matter what has caused the current situation, you need to believe it all stems from love. That’s the reason for the great sacrifices you’ve made. He doesn’t wish to avoid having children with you; he just doesn’t know how to be honest with you about this matter. He doesn’t want to upset your parents or cause a rift with them over their expectations. Do you understand? You were both too impulsive, not fully understanding each other’s feelings, and so you lashed out. Do you think that’s right? Is it worth it to damage the relationship you’ve cultivated over so many years? It was difficult, and you suffered a lot to get to where you are today. Is it really worth giving up so easily over a few words or a promise? I hope you understand that fate cannot be changed, even if you wish to change it. But on top of what’s fated, you should still cherish each other...”
