My Alleged Husband

Chapter 366: Chapter 346 Ran Zhihan Found Out_1

”Grandpa, how could you hit Yichen just because of me? Do you know, in his heart, you are the one who loves him most? He believes that no matter what happens, you would never lay a hand on him. But today, because of the conflict between him and me, you hit him. What must he be thinking in his heart now? I’m sure he hates me to death by now. If it weren’t for me, your relationship wouldn’t have turned out this way. And now that you and your grandson are at odds like this, all the blame has fallen on me!” Ran Zhihan was desperately anxious. She didn’t want her husband to think that she was the cause of all this, but now she was at a loss for words. How could Zhang Yichen possibly listen to Ran Zhihan’s explanation? He had already decided that all the changes were because of Ran Zhihan.

”Child, I’m sorry, I had not realized this matter would turn out like this. I thought he was just having a simple quarrel with you, but I didn’t expect it to be so complicated! You should go find him quickly. I’m worried his emotions are so bad that something unfortunate might happen.”

Ran Zhihan truly didn’t know what to say to Elder Zhang. Although she knew her grandfather did it to seek justice for her, there was no need for the situation to have escalated like this. Now she has to find someone, but where could she go? She knew that these past few months he meant well, trying to win justice for her, but she still couldn’t forgive her grandfather for acting impulsively. His casual slap had led to endless troubles for her in the future.

”Grandpa, you know what kind of person your grandson is. His self-esteem and pride are so important, and you just nonchalantly slapped him. How can his heart accept that? Now you want me to go find him, but where should I go? The world is so vast, for all we know, he might have already booked a flight and left this place! You also know he’s a titan of the world economy. If he decides to leave, all he has to do is give the order, and who would dare disclose his whereabouts, even if I am his wife?”

When Old Master Zhang heard Ran Zhihan saying this, he felt there was indeed some truth to it. His grandson’s commands—who would dare defy them?

”What should we do now? If I had known, I wouldn’t have hit him. It’s all my fault. How come I couldn’t bear even this? Why did he have to hit her? Now, the person is gone because of me? Where should I go to find him? In such a vast world, how should I go about looking for him...”

Old Master Zhang was frantically worried about his grandson leaving because of what he had done. How could he be at peace with himself? But the deed was done, and what more could he do? He had no choice but to repeatedly seek help from his friends to find him.

”Grandpa, I know you did this to gain justice for me, but you really shouldn’t have hit her. In her heart, she admires you so much, regards you as the most important person to her. In her heart, she can’t tolerate anyone saying a bad word about you. But today, you intervened in our conflict and slapped him with your own hand, causing his heart to be in unbearable pain. He must feel that because of me, you have changed, become distrustful of him. Right now, his heart must be full of hate for me, because for my sake, you reluctantly hit him. It’s my emergence that caused the peace of your family to be broken. How could he not hate me?”

”Zhihan, actually, none of these things have anything to do with you. He made mistakes on his own and should be brave enough to bear the responsibilities that come with those mistakes. Yet, he pushed all the responsibility onto others. This is what I cannot tolerate. If that’s the case, what difference is there between him and his parents? If so, then what use were all those years of my careful guidance? I want to see my grandson succeed, become a great person. There’s an old saying, ’To be a person and to achieve success is to conquer the world.’ If he hasn’t even learned how to behave, how can he grow up? If he hasn’t grown up, how can he create his own empire?”

”Oh, I know what you mean—I know he’s in the wrong—but the fault doesn’t lie with him. It’s because of the exceptional affection between him and me that my parents made such unreasonable demands on him. This has nothing to do with him; it’s because he loves me that he has become like this. Grandpa, if Yichen comes back, please don’t criticize him anymore for my sake. It’s not easy to have a relative who cares about you so much. Don’t break his heart, or it will be a loss not worth the gain!”

Old Master Zhang knew Ran Zhihan made sense, but he still didn’t want his grandson to end up like this. Whatever the problem was, he should have told his wife, and of course, his grandfather. His silence meant he didn’t value his wife or his grandfather, right?

”Zhihan, I know you want what’s best for me and for Yichen, but I still cannot tolerate my painstakingly raised child turning out just like his parents. If that’s the case, why did I bother to educate him to be talented? Why didn’t I just let him fend for himself?”

”Grandpa, how can you say such things? If he heard you say that, he would feel even worse. Perhaps he’s just momentarily unable to accept living together with two people, my intrusion into his life. But after a while, when he gets used to living with me, he won’t be like this anymore. I believe that one day he will realize that living together requires honesty. I don’t want to make any judgments about this matter right now. Let’s talk about it after some time has passed. If he wants to go out and walk around, let him go peacefully. Don’t disturb him, lest he thinks I’m always trying to control him.”

”Alright, since you say so, I won’t say anything further. If he wants to go out and walk around, I’ll let him be. But he must come back. I don’t want him to wander outside, walk about, and eventually forget where his home is. If that happens, I wouldn’t want him to continue wandering. Child, if only he were half as sensible as you. I will never be able to understand what made him turn into what he is today. Now he feels like a stranger to me, different; it’s as if the grandson who used to treat me so well has disappeared...”
