Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 94: NZNT: Chapter 94

The Kumogakure tent erupted in a frenzy after Dodai finished his report. The Raikage’s face was filled with rage. He couldn’t wait to charge into Konoha’s base and take back the Two-Tails jinchūriki.

Although the Kumogakure ninjas were intimidated by Konoha’s strength, they couldn’t believe that Yugito Nii and Dodai had been defeated by two unknown boys and girls.

It was simply unbelievable that Yugito Nii, the Two-Tails jinchūriki, had even been captured alive.

But Kumogakure’s united and warlike nature meant that they wouldn’t easily compromise or abandon their comrades.

”Raikage-sama, let’s launch a full-scale attack and fight Konoha to the death!”

”Yes, Raikage-sama, we must get Yugito-sama back!”

Although Dodai, Mabui, Samui, and other calm-headed individuals tried to persuade them to think things through, they couldn’t stop the Kumogakure ninjas who were filled with righteous indignation.

With a bang, the Raikage shattered the desk in front of him again.

”Get the entire army ready. Tonight, I’ll personally lead the entire army into battle! Not only will I get Yugito back, but I will also personally take care of that Uchiha Yusuke!”

Hearing the Raikage’s decision, the cautious Dodai wanted to try to persuade him. But before he could speak, the Raikage’s words stopped him.

”This time, the entire army will be deployed. You will be the overall commander, Dodai!”

Shaking his head, Dodai could only accept the order. He had to put aside his doubts and focus on figuring out how to defeat Konoha.

Compared to the outrage in Kumogakure, the Konoha side was both surprised and delighted by their success in capturing the Two-Tails jinchūriki alive.

Most people had been very dubious about assigning Itachi, a young ninja, to lead the vanguard.

But the facts proved that Itachi had not only suppressed Kumogakure’s vanguard force despite being outnumbered but had also demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities.

Now, he had led his team to defeat an elite team led by Kumogakure’s strategist, Dodai, and the Two-Tails jinchūriki, Yugito Nii. He had even captured the Two-Tails jinchūriki alive. This was simply unimaginable.

Besides, after Itachi and Izumi displayed their Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, the fact that they possessed the Mangekyō Sharingan spread.

Everyone was amazed by the power of the Uchiha clan and even more awed by Yusuke, the clan leader.

Because Itachi had captured Yugito Nii, Yusuke guessed that the hot-tempered Fourth Raikage would likely launch a full-scale attack to reclaim the jinchūriki. Therefore, Yusuke decided to order his army to temporarily retreat as well.

Except for the reconnaissance teams, all the other teams that were still operating outside converged on the camp to prevent them from being defeated one by one by the Kumogakure army.

After issuing his orders, Yusuke dismissed everyone. He went with Itachi and Izumi to the place where the Two-Tails jinchūriki, Yugito Nii, was being held.

Yugito Nii was still unconscious, and she might never wake up again.

Yusuke nodded in satisfaction and praised Itachi, ”You’re a worthy disciple. You haven’t let me down.”

As Yusuke said, having such a capable subordinate like Itachi was indeed a very pleasant thing.

”Wait, wait, wait, brother, I contributed a lot this time! If it weren’t for me, the enemy might have escaped.” At this time, Izumi excitedly tried to take credit with Yusuke.

Yusuke patted Izumi’s head and smiled, ”Good, good. Brother will reward you when this war is over.”

”But Izumi, although your Mangekyō Sharingan ability consumes less chakra, you should still try to use it as little as possible. Understand?”

Hearing Yusuke’s words, Izumi nodded seriously. She had been reminded by Yusuke before, so she hadn’t used her Kōdo Shunshin ability at the beginning of the battle.

Seeing a hint of worry beneath Izumi’s smile, Yusuke said, ”Izumi, you don’t have to worry too much. Brother will definitely find a way to solve your eye problem as soon as possible.”

”Okay!” Izumi’s eyes were filled with trust.

After seeing the Two-Tails jinchūriki, Yusuke asked Itachi and Izumi to go and rest well, to prepare for the decisive battle that was likely to happen.

As for extracting the Two-Tails from Yugito Nii’s body and sealing the Two-Tails’ Yang Release chakra and Yin Release chakra into the positive and negative ”Two World Seals,” they would have to wait until the war was over and they returned to Konoha.

After all, extracting a tailed beast from a jinchūriki’s body was a very time-consuming and laborious process. For example, in the original story, Akatsuki had to gather the strength of several official members to extract the One-Tails from Gaara. They also used the S-rank sealing jutsu, ”Fūinjutsu,” and it took them two days to complete.

Now, Kumogakure could attack at any time. Yusuke naturally wouldn’t have the time or energy to deal with the Two-Tails at this stage.

”Using the capture of the Two-Tails jinchūriki to lure Kumogakure into a decisive battle is also a good opportunity. If we defeat Kumogakure and quickly move to the eastern front where Kirigakure is located, we might even be able to capture the Three-Tails as well!” Yusuke thought to himself.

This morning, he had received intelligence from Jiraiya’s side. The eastern front with Kirigakure was very stable, so he didn’t have to worry and could focus on dealing with Kumogakure.

Originally, Yusuke had been hesitant about whether to reveal the information about the Fourth Mizukage being under genjutsu control to Kirigakure. But after thinking it over, he decided to give up.

If Kirigakure released the Fourth Mizukage from the genjutsu, he would know that he was actually controlled by the Sharingan. The Sharingan was a symbol of the Uchiha clan.

At that time, Kirigakure might not stop attacking Konoha. Instead, they might push the Uchiha clan into the spotlight.

”Two-Tails, Three-Tails, Eight-Tails. War always hides great opportunities!”

While Konoha, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure were engaged in fierce battles, Kabuto was learning senjutsu from the Slug Sage in the Shikkotsu Forest.

In a swamp shrouded in mist, a giant white slug, whose height was unknown, lived there.

Half of the slug’s body was hidden beneath the swamp, while the other half extended out of the swamp, surrounded by mist.

This slug was the legendary Slug Sage!

As one of the Three Great Sage Sites, the Shikkotsu Forest was different from the Ryuchi Cave and the Myōbokku Mountain in that the Slug Sage lived alone. It was a self-contained entity and didn’t have any subordinates or descendants. Unlike the snakes of the Ryuchi Cave and the toads of the Myōbokku Mountain, which lived in groups.

Because the Slug Sage’s body was so enormous, it contained an immense amount of senjutsu chakra. The slugs that Tsunade and Kabuto summoned were only a small part of the Slug Sage’s body.

Before Kabuto went to the Shikkotsu Forest, Yusuke had instructed him not to be disrespectful to the Slug Sage, even though the slugs he usually summoned were very gentle and easy to talk to.

After all, many times, the most ruthless people seem harmless, just like the First Hokage.

Although Yusuke hadn’t interacted with the Sages of the Three Great Sage Sites, based on his judgment, he always believed that the Slug Sage was perhaps the strongest of the three.
