Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 58: NZNT: Chapter 58

”Interesting! Still trying to struggle?”

Seeing Kabuto and Izumi seemingly preparing to resist, Obito said calmly.

Seeing Obito seemingly unguarded, Kabuto quickly formed hand seals and released an Earth Release jutsu.

”Earth Release: Earth Spike Jutsu!”

Suddenly, a large number of cone-shaped earth spikes shot out from under Obito’s feet, piercing him.

At the same time, Izumi, who was supposed to be standing beside Kabuto, suddenly appeared behind Obito and slashed towards his neck.

”We got him!”

At that moment, Kabuto and Izumi couldn’t help but feel overjoyed. They hadn’t expected that this strangely dressed, imposing enemy would be defeated so easily.

But the next moment, they noticed something was wrong. Their attacks had hit the enemy, but they didn’t feel like they had hit anything solid. The enemy was still standing in front of them unharmed.

”Such a simple and practical tactic. One person uses ninjutsu to distract the enemy, while the other leaves a shadow clone behind and secretly launches a fatal attack from behind.”

”If it were an ordinary person, they might have fallen for it. Unfortunately, your opponent is me!”

Obito didn’t counterattack. Instead, he said in a confident tone.

Izumi stepped forward and swung her sword at Obito several times, but without exception, each strike passed through his body without causing any damage.

”Impossible. Is this genjutsu?” Izumi retreated to Kabuto’s side after several attacks failed.

Kabuto shook his head, ”No, it must be a space-time ninjutsu. This jutsu allows him to become intangible, just like how he suddenly appeared in this sealed tunnel.”

With a powerful sense of pressure, Obito slowly walked towards them step by step.

”Excellent observation skills. So, how are you going to deal with this?”

”Wind Release: Vacuum Wave.”

Kabuto formed hand seals and spat out several air waves with extremely high penetrating power. But as he expected, all the attacks passed through the other party’s body.

At this time, Obito’s movements suddenly became faster. He instantly appeared behind Kabuto and grabbed him with one hand.

Seeing this, Kabuto immediately raised his hand to block. He didn’t know that if Obito touched him, he would be pulled into the Kamui dimension.

The moment his hand touched Kabuto’s arm, Obito suddenly returned to his intangible state. The reason was that Izumi’s katana had just slashed from behind Obito, forcing him to abandon his physical form and pull Kabuto into the Kamui dimension.

As Obito passed through Kabuto’s body in an intangible state, he suddenly turned his head. His crimson Sharingan was filled with killing intent.

Kabuto also turned his head at the same time to observe Obito’s movements. He saw a swirling spatial distortion suddenly appear in front of the eye exposed by Obito’s mask.

”Oh no!” Kabuto thought to himself.

Suddenly, five or six shuriken flew out from the swirling spatial distortion, flying straight towards Kabuto’s face.

It turned out that Obito had used his Kamui ability to directly shoot shuriken from the Kamui dimension through his Sharingan.

Facing such a close-range attack at such a tricky angle, Kabuto was unable to dodge.

Clang, clang, clang, several sounds rang out, accompanied by several flashes of sword light. The shuriken were all knocked down. It turned out that Izumi had provided timely support.

”Wood Release: Sharp Spike Technique!”

Kabuto, who hadn’t had time to breathe a sigh of relief, saw that Obito suddenly extended a wooden spike from his right palm, stabbing towards Izumi, who was beside him.

Kabuto was shocked. He immediately pushed Izumi away, sacrificing himself. He was pierced in the abdomen by the wooden spike in Obito’s palm.

”Oh? What a touching camaraderie, but...”

Seeing Kabuto blocking the attack for Izumi, Obito couldn’t help but sneer.

”This move isn’t so simple!”

As Obito finished speaking, several sharp wooden spikes suddenly burst out from Kabuto’s body. In an instant, Kabuto was covered in blood.

Originally, even if Obito’s Sharp Spike Technique had hit Izumi, he wouldn’t have launched a second attack with the wooden spikes. After all, he planned to capture Izumi alive. Before confirming Yusuke’s death, Izumi would be a backup hostage.

But since the target was Kabuto, Obito wouldn’t show any mercy.

At this time, Kabuto’s eyes widened, and he covered his abdomen with his right hand. His body uncontrollably knelt on the ground, then fell to the ground with a thud.

”Kabuto!!!”

At this time, everyone around them exclaimed. Uchiha Izumi and Yota immediately rushed to Kabuto’s side and hugged him, crying.

Because Yota was extremely sad and crying loudly, a heavy downpour suddenly began in Konoha Village. However, no one in the tunnel noticed.

The Sharp Spike Technique, a piercing attack launched from within the body, could damage the body’s organs from the inside. It was extremely fatal to normal humans. At this time, Kabuto was no longer breathing.

Looking at Kabuto, whose body was pierced by wooden spikes, Izumi was stunned. Two lines of tears flowed down her cheeks. Scenes of her time with Kabuto flashed before her eyes.

”Hello, I’m Yakushi Kabuto. Pleased to meet you!”

”Izumi, here, have some of these dumplings!”

”Izumi, you should use this jutsu like this. Come on, form the hand seals with me!”

”Oh, Izumi, I’m not your opponent in taijutsu anymore!”

Since Kabuto had been brought home by Yusuke more than three years ago, Izumi felt like she had gained another brother.

This brother wasn’t as admired by her as Yusuke, and he wasn’t related to her by blood. But whether it was eating, training, playing, or going on missions, this brother was always by her side, giving her help and care.

Suddenly, blood mixed with her clear tears. The pattern in Izumi’s Sharingan pupils suddenly changed.

The three tomoe slowly disappeared, forming a pattern of five petals surrounding a pistil, like a cherry blossom.

At this moment, Izumi had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan!

The condition for Uchiha clan members to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan was the death of a close relative or loved one. Ultimately, it was an intense mental stimulus that broke through a certain limit, triggering the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Seeing Kabuto pierced by wooden spikes and lifeless, Izumi, who had long considered Kabuto as a brother, also broke through that limit because of the mental stimulus!

”I’m going to kill you!” Izumi said coldly, looking at Obito in front of her.

She sheathed her Senbonzakura and took a starting position for a swordsmanship technique.

”Hahaha, let me see your power. As expected of Uchiha Yusuke’s sister. I didn’t expect you to give me such a surprise!”

When Obito saw that Izumi had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, he was initially startled.

But soon, he was overjoyed. After all, a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan was invaluable. At this time, in Obito’s eyes, Izumi’s Mangekyō Sharingan was already within his grasp.

With his body in an intangible state, Obito walked towards Izumi step by step. He was now enjoying the feeling of toying with his enemies.

”Huh?”

Seeing Izumi, who had already appeared in front of him with her hand on the hilt of her sword, using Shunshin no Jutsu, Obito couldn’t help but feel a chill in his heart, as if he sensed danger.

Although he was very confident in his intangible state, Obito still instinctively dodged to the side.

A pink, dazzling blade light, like a blooming cherry blossom, flashed past his eye. Obito felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, and a familiar arm, accompanied by a spray of blood, floated in the air.

”Is this my arm?”
