Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 63: NZNT: Chapter 63

The battle between the Root ninjas and the Uchiha clan ninjas had reached a fever pitch. With Root having a significant numerical advantage, the Uchiha clan ninjas were on the defensive.

”Damn it, we’re taking too many casualties. Where is that guy with the swirl mask that Danzō-sama mentioned?”

Danzō was not present. His confidante, Aburame Torune, was leading the Root attack on the Uchiha clan.

Root had already lost nearly a third of its personnel. Even though he was Danzō’s confidant, it would be difficult for him to explain this to Danzō afterwards.

”Sir, the reinforcements that Danzō-sama mentioned haven’t appeared yet. Could something have happened?” a subordinate asked Aburame Torune.

”Perhaps. But no matter what changes, we just need to execute Danzō-sama’s orders. Tell your men to intensify their attack. Even if there are no reinforcements, the plan won’t stop!” Aburame Torune said sternly.

After instructing his subordinates to strengthen their offensive, Aburame Torune slowly walked to the front lines where the two sides were locked in a stalemate.

Looking at the Uchiha clan ninjas who were constantly being pushed back, Aburame Torune shouted, ”Tonight, the Uchiha clan will be erased from the ninja world!”

”You are surrounded now. If you surrender, you might still have a chance to live!”

Aburame Torune said these words to demoralize the Uchiha clan ninjas. Even if any Uchiha clan members surrendered, they wouldn’t have a chance to survive!

However, as soon as he finished speaking, a cold voice suddenly rang out.

”Erase the Uchiha clan? I, Uchiha Yusuke, would like to see who has such big ambitions!”

The voice wasn’t loud, but everyone present could hear it clearly.

Everyone present looked towards the source of the voice. They saw a straight figure standing on top of a tower, with the bright full moon in the night sky behind him.

Due to the angle of the light, everyone couldn’t see Yusuke’s face clearly, only a vague outline.

But Yusuke’s golden-red tomoe Sharingan caught everyone’s attention.

”Uchiha Yusuke, the strongest Uchiha, has not awakened his Sharingan” had always been a funny anecdote in Konoha Village, even in the ninja world. No one knew whether he truly hadn’t awakened his Sharingan or if he was intentionally hiding his strength.

But now, the unprecedented Sharingan pattern in Yusuke’s eyes shocked all the ninjas present. No one doubted that Yusuke’s abnormally shaped Sharingan must have extraordinary abilities!

The entire battlefield seemed to freeze for a moment. Even the ninjas who were fighting seemed to pause slightly.

Yusuke’s appearance was a fatal blow to the morale of the Root ninjas, but for the Uchiha clan members, it was like finding a lifeline.

”Great, it’s Yusuke-sama. We’re saved!”

”Yusuke-sama, you’re here. Please help us destroy Root!”

Compared to the silence of the Root ninjas, the Uchiha clan ninjas erupted in cheers.

Seeing Yusuke appear, Uchiha Souichiro also looked overjoyed and quickly jumped several times to Yusuke’s side.

Although he was very curious about Yusuke’s Sharingan, Souichiro didn’t ask much at this time. Instead, he simply told Yusuke about the situation tonight.

From Souichiro, Yusuke learned why he hadn’t seen Danzō, Shisui, Fugaku, and Itachi.

At this time, Yusuke, with his powerful spiritual power, sensed the burst of chakra power coming from afar, from Fugaku and Shisui.

”This feeling... it’s Susanoo!” Yusuke thought to himself in shock.

According to his senses, it was Shisui fighting Fugaku. This meant that Shisui had taken over the task of clan extermination that Itachi had originally undertaken.

Looking at Souichiro beside him, Yusuke said, ”I’ve sensed the clan leader’s location. We need to finish this quickly, and then I need to go support the clan leader!”

After saying that, Yusuke unsheathed his katana and charged directly at the Root ninjas.

”Don’t be afraid, everyone. There’s only one of him. He’s just trying to intimidate us. He’s nothing to fear!”

Although Aburame Torune was also wary when he saw Yusuke appear, he was in a situation where there was no retreat. He could only shout loudly to encourage his men’s morale and then lead several elite Root ninjas to intercept Yusuke.

On the other side, the battle between Fugaku and Shisui had also reached a critical point.

Danzō, who was also trapped in the barrier, had been watching the battle between Shisui and Fugaku coldly from the beginning, showing no sign of intervening.

The reason why Danzō didn’t intervene and attack Fugaku with Shisui was because he was playing his own game!

Danzō had long coveted Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan. In Danzō’s plan, he would wait until Shisui and Fugaku were both injured before taking Shisui’s Sharingan and eliminating them both.

This way, he could not only obtain Shisui’s ”Kotoamatsukami” ability but also clip the Third Hokage’s wings. Afterwards, he could just blame Shisui’s death on Fugaku. Danzō wouldn’t have to bear any responsibility.

Looking at the two Susanoo fighting in front of him, Danzō couldn’t help but smile coldly, waiting for the opportunity to make his move.

”Uchiha Shisui, are you still so stubborn? Do you really want to see your own clan members slaughtered by outsiders?”

While controlling his Susanoo to resist Shisui’s attacks, he roared loudly at Shisui.

Fugaku’s Susanoo was red, similar in appearance to Itachi’s Susanoo, but it didn’t have the ”Ten-Tails Sword” or the ”Yata Mirror.” It used a giant red katana as a weapon.

At this time, Fugaku was already in the upper hand. At the age of thirty, he was at the peak of his ninja strength. Whether it was his dojutsu or chakra, he was superior to Shisui.

”Clan leader, you are the one who is stubborn! It is your narrow-minded view of the clan that has led to this situation. If we don’t take action now, it will only lead to a greater disaster!”

Shisui, who had been repelled, immediately controlled his Susanoo to attack Fugaku again, his dojutsu power erupting.

As an idealist, Shisui only wanted to uphold the ”Will of Fire” and complete the mission that Konoha’s high-ranking officials had given him. He didn’t care about his own safety or the waste of his dojutsu power. He fought with all his might, using a strategy of trading blows with Fugaku.

Facing Shisui’s frenzied counterattack, Fugaku was also in a difficult situation. If he exhausted his dojutsu and chakra, even if he defeated Shisui, he wouldn’t be able to deal with Danzō, who was waiting in the wings.

”Shisui, what are you waiting for? Use your strongest move to finish him off.”

”Once you’ve dealt with Uchiha Fugaku, you won’t have to participate in the rest of the mission. I’ll take Root to finish things up.”

At this time, Danzō ordered Shisui.

Hearing Danzō’s words, Shisui no longer held back. He directly used his Susanoo’s ultimate move.

The breastplate on the chest of the green Susanoo he was controlling suddenly opened, revealing a giant green tomoe inside.

”Susanoo: Ninjutsu: Ninety-Nine!”
