Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 81: NZNT: Chapter 81

”Release!”

Yusuke clasped his hands together, releasing the genjutsu that Hidan was under. As soon as Hidan opened his eyes and saw Yusuke in front of him, he began to curse.

”If you make another sound, I’ll throw you into a tank full of chili oil,” Yusuke said calmly, glancing at Hidan.

Hearing Yusuke’s threat, Hidan immediately shut his mouth, not daring to make another sound.

”This guy is even more evil than Jashin-sama!” Hidan thought to himself.

Seeing Hidan quiet down, Yusuke smirked and pulled out a grotesque, grimacing mask from his pocket. He slowly put it on Hidan’s face.

Hidan looked at Yusuke, who had a mischievous look on his face, and wanted to ask what he was going to do to him. But remembering the threat, he didn’t dare to speak.

As soon as Yusuke put the mask on Hidan’s face, Hidan immediately felt an indescribable cold, eerie atmosphere. It was as if he was being watched by a pair of evil eyes.

Yusuke didn’t feel what Hidan was feeling. He pressed two fingers together and placed them on Hidan’s crown, injecting a wave of chakra into it.

As the chakra flowed in, a huge, soul-shaped monster appeared behind Hidan’s head. It was the Shinigami summoned by the ”Shiki Fūjin” technique!

Feeling a cold, evil aura coming from behind his head, Hidan felt as if the evil eyes that had been watching him were now right next to him.

”Is there something behind me?” Hidan asked, his voice trembling.

Yusuke slowly turned Hidan’s head, allowing him to see what had caused his fear.

Before him was a huge monster, four or five people tall. Two black horns protruded from its long, yellowish hair. The monster’s skin was a strange, deep blue, and its mouth, full of fangs, was holding a short sword horizontally.

The monster’s body was very muscular. It was wearing a white cloak, and swirling, jewel-shaped ghost flames surrounded its body.

Around the monster, there was an invisible, eerie aura that made any creature that approached it feel cold and evil. In Yusuke’s view, this aura was very similar to Reiatsu.

”What the hell is this?!” Hidan swallowed nervously, his voice hoarse.

Hidan’s soul power wasn’t strong enough to see the Shinigami. But now, as a sacrifice offered to the Shinigami, he had a soul connection to the Shinigami, so he could see it.

”This? It seems others call it the Shinigami. I’m curious to see if you, protected by Jashin, can be killed by the Shinigami,” Yusuke said half-jokingly.

In Yusuke’s view, Hidan’s head was still quite valuable for research. If possible, Yusuke didn’t want the Shinigami to take Hidan’s soul.

But if Yusuke himself wasn’t the Shinigami’s match, then he could only apologize to Hidan.

”Help!” Hidan cried out tragically.

At that moment, a chilling laugh echoed.

The Shinigami slowly removed the short sword used to reap souls from its mouth. It was clearly ready to enjoy Hidan’s soul.

Seeing the short sword slashing down, Hidan closed his eyes in despair. He could feel that the short sword in the monster’s hand could kill him.

But soon, Hidan realized that the pain he had imagined didn’t come. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Yusuke standing in front of him, holding a katana, blocking the Shinigami’s short sword.

Seeing that someone could block him, the Shinigami, surprisingly, also showed a look of surprise. After all, it had never encountered a creature that could stop it. This was the first time.

Shifting its gaze from Hidan to Yusuke, the Shinigami suddenly flew towards Yusuke, its short sword slashing at him.

Facing the Shinigami’s attack, Yusuke immediately raised his sword to block. The Shinigami was already very large, and this downward slash gave the impression of being unstoppable.

Clang! With a clash of Reiatsu, Yusuke blocked the Shinigami’s short sword.

Although he had defended against the Shinigami’s attack, Yusuke felt immense pressure. He was barely able to block it.

This discovery didn’t bother Yusuke. Instead, it confirmed his previous thoughts: the Shinigami was a monster with incredibly powerful soul power!

Because the Shinigami was in a soul state, it didn’t have muscle tissue. Its power came entirely from its soul.

Sensing the extremely pure soul aura emanating from the Shinigami, Yusuke was certain that if he could cut off a piece of the Shinigami’s body and refine it into ”Yin Release Chakra Crystal,” it would be enough to be used as a seal material for a tailed beast-level Yang Release chakra.

Just as Yusuke was thinking about cutting off a piece of the Shinigami, the Shinigami showed a very cunning smile.

A thin, bony claw covered in seals suddenly extended from the Shinigami’s abdomen, quickly grabbing towards Yusuke.

Once grabbed by this claw, a creature’s soul would be pulled out of its body. If the creature’s soul power wasn’t strong enough, it would be at the mercy of the Shinigami.

Yusuke, with his rich combat experience, easily dodged the Shinigami’s sneak attack. At the same time, he swung his Zanpakutō and chopped off the hand that had extended from the Shinigami’s abdomen.

A piercing scream rang out. It was the Shinigami screaming in pain after Yusuke chopped off part of its soul.

The Shinigami now had an angry expression. It had never experienced such pain.

The cold aura around it erupted, and the jewel-shaped ghost flames surrounding its body began to burn fiercely.

Ghost flames rose from the short sword in the Shinigami’s hand. It charged at Yusuke again.

Seeing this, Yusuke didn’t dare to be careless. He released Ryūjin Jakka’s Shikai, holding his Zanpakutō, which was burning with red flames, and fought the Shinigami.

As Yusuke and the Shinigami’s weapons clashed, the red flames and the blue flames intertwined.

At the same time, there was a constant ”sizzling” sound, similar to the sound of flames burning and evaporating water. But this was the sound of the two flames burning and consuming each other.

The battle became more and more intense. Yusuke gradually gained the upper hand.

Although his Reiatsu was far weaker than the Shinigami’s, Yusuke discovered that his Zanpakutō’s Yang flames countered the Shinigami’s Yin flames. And Yusuke had an overwhelming advantage in swordsmanship. The Shinigami was only able to defend against Yusuke’s attacks by relying on its reaction speed, which far surpassed that of humans.

But as Yusuke’s attacks intensified, the Shinigami became overwhelmed and unable to defend itself. Its body was constantly struck by Yusuke and ignited by the flames on Ryūjin Jakka. ℴℴ𝘮

Fortunately, the Shinigami could control its ghost flames to counteract them. Otherwise, the battle would have already ended.
