Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 80: NZNT: Chapter 80

The Hatake clan, once one of the great clans of Konoha, had fallen into decline.

As the head of the main family, only Kakashi remained. The other clan members numbered only a handful, and most of them were no longer ninjas.

Looking at Kakashi’s luxurious mansion, Yusuke couldn’t help but sigh. Kakashi was truly a diamond bachelor.

Not only was he an elite jōnin in Konoha, trusted by the Third and Fourth Hokage, with a bright future ahead of him, but he also inherited the property of the Hatake main family. He was young, rich, and promising.

The gate was open. Kakashi lived alone and didn’t have any relatives or servants living with him. Yusuke walked right in.

As Yusuke arrived, Guy, Asuma, and Kurenai were also visiting Kakashi’s home. They were in the living room, drinking tea and chatting.

”I can’t believe Yusuke, who’s the same age as us, has become the clan leader of the Uchiha clan and even the Chief Hokage Advisor. It feels unreal,” Kurenai sighed, her tone filled with admiration.

”He’s truly my rival!”

Guy nodded in agreement, then looked at Kakashi beside him with a serious expression, ”Kakashi, you’re not bad either. I remember you told me you were the clan leader of the Hatake clan last time!”

Ignoring Guy, Kakashi turned to Asuma, who was sitting beside him, ”Yusuke’s relationship with your father, the Third Hokage, is very delicate now. But the Daimyo seems to have sided with Yusuke, and the situation at the higher levels has become more complex.”

”You’re right. The old man is really having a hard time now. I just hope they consider the village’s interests when they’re fighting,” Asuma said, puffing on his pipe.

Asuma wasn’t a petty person. He didn’t completely side with the Third Hokage in the struggle between Yusuke and the Third Hokage. Of course, he was more emotionally attached to his father, which was only natural.

”Fighting? What fighting?” Guy looked at Kakashi with a puzzled expression.

Kakashi continued to ignore Guy, ”A power struggle will inevitably lead to internal strife. This is...”

As he spoke, Kakashi’s voice trailed off. His eyes looked towards the entrance to the courtyard outside the living room.

At this time, everyone in the living room followed Kakashi’s gaze. They saw a tall young man wearing a white lab coat standing there. It was Yusuke.

Seeing that it was Yusuke who had come to visit, everyone in the hall stood up from their cushions. Except for Guy, they all seemed a little restrained.

After all, Yusuke’s current status had distanced him from everyone else. Although their ages were similar to Yusuke’s and they were also elite ninjas in the village, they were still overshadowed by Yusuke in terms of aura.

”Yusuke, I can’t believe you’re already a Hokage advisor. But according to our agreement, I haven’t lost to you yet until you become Hokage!” Guy said with a fighting spirit, laughing loudly.

”Was there such an agreement?” Yusuke thought for three seconds and confirmed that this agreement was something Guy had made up.

After greeting everyone, Yusuke said that he had something important to discuss with Kakashi alone.

Hearing this, Guy, Asuma, and Kurenai didn’t stay any longer. They said goodbye to Kakashi.

After they left, Kakashi said, ”Advisor-sama, what brings you here?”

Kakashi had mixed feelings about Yusuke’s presence. He was originally a genius ninja who was on par with him. They had both become the youngest jōnin in Konoha at the same time.

But now, he had become a high-ranking official in Konoha. This made Kakashi feel a little uncomfortable.

”I’m here for your left eye, or to be more precise, for Uchiha Obito’s left eye,” Yusuke said bluntly.

Hearing Yusuke’s words, Kakashi’s expression turned serious. He had thought that Yusuke was here to recruit him, but he didn’t expect it to be about Obito’s Sharingan.

Kakashi said solemnly, ”You want to take back Obito’s eye?”

Yusuke nodded, ”Yes.”

”What’s the reason? The Uchiha clan tacitly approved this before. Why are you suddenly asking to take back Obito’s eye now?” Kakashi asked.

He believed that a man like Yusuke wouldn’t deliberately target him, but he couldn’t think of any reason.

Yusuke sighed, ”I’m sorry, this involves a secret of the Uchiha clan, so I can’t reveal it.”

”But I believe with your insight, you’ve already noticed the burden that the Sharingan puts on you. Why are you still forcing yourself to use it?”

Kakashi shook his head, ”This burden is something I should bear.”

Yusuke understood Kakashi’s persistence. He wasn’t greedy for the power of the Sharingan. He couldn’t let go of his friendship with Obito.

But Obito’s Sharingan was too important. Yusuke had to get it.

If he had Obito’s left eye, he could break Obito’s ability to dematerialize. If he saw Obito again, Yusuke would have a good chance of killing him.

”Kakashi, you have no choice in this matter. I’m reclaiming Obito’s Sharingan in the name of the clan leader of the Uchiha clan,” Yusuke said calmly.

Looking at Yusuke, who was calm but determined, Kakashi felt a sense of powerlessness.

As the other man had said, unless he defected from the village, he had no way to refuse. The other man was not only powerful but also had a very reasonable reason. Even if he asked the Third Hokage to intervene, he wouldn’t be able to keep his Sharingan.

Looking at Kakashi, who was silent with a grave expression, Yusuke said slowly, ”When Kabuto returns, I’ll arrange for him to perform the surgery to transplant your left eye. Also, I’ll prepare a replacement left eye for you beforehand.”

”There are many things I can’t explain, but you can rest assured. I’m reclaiming Obito’s Sharingan for the sake of the village. When the time is right, you will understand my true purpose!”

After leaving Kakashi’s mansion, Yusuke returned to his laboratory, carrying a package the size of a human head. He headed towards a lake far from the village.

Upon arriving at his destination, Yusuke placed the package on a rock by the lake and opened it. Inside was a head with closed eyes, Hidan.

Hidan had been caught in Yusuke’s genjutsu and was now asleep.

Seeing Hidan’s still-full cheeks, Yusuke had to admit that the Jashin cult’s curse was truly miraculous. Yusuke had never fed Hidan food or water, but it seemed to have no effect on him.
