Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 78: NZNT: Chapter 78

As things were heating up in Konoha, Akatsuki’s meeting was also held on schedule.

The one presiding over the meeting was, of course, the Deva Path Pain, who was secretly controlled by Nagato. The Akatsuki members attending the meeting were all thought projections, enabled by Pain’s ”Shurado.”

Looking at the sparse few figures, Pain’s already cold voice became even colder, ”Why are only a few of you here? Where are Hidan and Kisame?”

Obito had seen Yusuke appear and bring Hidan’s head the night Root was destroyed, but he didn’t provide this information to Nagato. It was a personal collaboration between him and Danzō, and he didn’t want Nagato to know.

”Kisame is dead, and Hidan is as good as dead. This mission was a complete failure,” Sasori said calmly.

This mission to ambush Yusuke was a disgrace to Sasori’s career. Not only had he lost many puppets, but he had almost lost his own life.

But this incident had also served as a wake-up call for Sasori. He had realized the limitations of his puppetry abilities and was now thinking about how to create more powerful puppets!

Hearing Sasori’s words, Pain turned towards where Kakuzu’s thought projection was, his voice filled with killing intent.

”Kakuzu, I need an explanation!”

”In the past, you’ve killed a partner, but the missions were still completed. This time, you’ve killed two, and the mission failed. Are you challenging my authority?”

Kakuzu was startled for a moment, then understood Pain’s meaning.

It turned out that he had already ”accidentally killed” three partners, leading Pain to believe that he had also killed Kisame and Hidan this time.

Kakuzu quickly explained, ”Leader, you’re mistaken this time. The target’s strength was truly unfathomable. If the target hadn’t left unexpectedly, both I and Sasori might have died at his hands.”

Hearing Kakuzu’s words, Pain was also startled. He hadn’t expected that anyone in the ninja world besides him could have such strength.

”Recount the details of the battle,” Pain said coldly.

Kakuzu, hearing this, recounted the details of the battle from beginning to end.

After he finished, everyone present, except for Kakuzu and Sasori, felt a sense of disbelief.

”In my opinion, the only person in the organization who could defeat him is you, Leader,” Kakuzu concluded.

Hearing Kakuzu’s account, Orochimaru was also shocked.

”Has Yusuke’s strength reached this level?”

He had originally assumed that Yusuke would give these Akatsuki members a taste of his power, forcing them into a tough battle. But to his surprise, Yusuke had completely overwhelmed them, even killing two of them.

”It seems I need to hurry up and improve the initial version of the ’Demonic Statue of the Realm of Living Beings’ technique and then go to the Land of Snow as soon as possible!” Orochimaru thought to himself, planning his next move.

At this time, Pain was also wary of Yusuke, but only wary. In his view, he, who possessed the Rinnegan, still had the power to absolutely crush all other ninjas.

”This Uchiha Yusuke you’re talking about, he’s actually that strong? You guys aren’t exaggerating to make yourselves look better, are you?” A woman’s voice rang out.

From the silhouette of her thought projection, it could be seen that the woman was very tall, with her hair tied up in a high bun.

She was a new member who had recently joined Akatsuki. Pain hadn’t introduced her yet.

Sasori snorted coldly, ”Who are you?”

”She’s the organization’s new member, Pakura. I’m sure you’ve all heard of her name. Her code name is ’Ju,’” Pain introduced.

After Yusuke had warned her, Pakura had successfully avoided the combined attack of the Sand and Mist Villages against her. Filled with resentment, she had left Sunagakure and sought an opportunity to get revenge on the village.

Later, while traveling, she was discovered by White Zetsu. Pain personally invited her to join Akatsuki.

Because Yusuke had disguised himself when he interacted with her, Pakura didn’t know that he was the one who had warned her.

”Scorch Pakura”, huh? Just a young ninja, yet she’s so arrogant. I’m currently lacking in usable human puppets. Although you’re not very talented, you’ll have to do for now,” Sasori said slowly.

Pakura also had a hot temper. Hearing Sasori’s words, she sneered, ”If you’re not afraid of your remaining puppets being burned to ashes, then give it a try.”

”Enough!” Pain interrupted their argument. His voice wasn’t loud, but both of them fell silent.

Looking at this small group of people, Pain felt a headache coming on.

He had just recruited Pakura, a new member. Pain had secretly been happy, thinking that he would soon have enough manpower to carry out his subsequent plans.

But just as he had recruited one member, he had lost two. His plans were suddenly stalled.

After thinking for a moment, Pain decided that he needed to recruit more members first. ”Kakuzu, you’ll work with Pakura; Orochimaru and Sasori will form a new team.”

”Your next mission is to each find a suitable official member!”

After the meeting ended, Orochimaru, who had been silent the whole time, asked Kakuzu, ”Now that Hidan’s head is gone, why don’t you give me his body? I’ve always been interested in his body.”

Kakuzu: ”150 million! Hidan’s body is yours!” At this time, Kakuzu still couldn’t forget the 150 million bounty on Yusuke.

Orochimaru didn’t say anything else. He silently deactivated his thought projection.

Seeing that Orochimaru had left, Kakuzu turned to Sasori, ”You’re also interested in Hidan’s body, aren’t you?”

Sasori sneered, ”150 million? You can keep him for yourself!”

At this time, in the capital of the Land of Fire, a black crow flew into the Daimyo’s mansion courtyard.

This crow was naturally Yusuke’s clone, Genya. At this moment, Genya was quietly perched on a branch of a large tree, waiting for the Daimyo to pass by.

In Yusuke’s plan, he was going to use ”Kotoamatsukami” to control the Daimyo of the Land of Fire!

Yusuke had also considered using ”Kotoamatsukami” to control the Third Hokage, but after careful consideration, he abandoned this idea.

Controlling the Third Hokage would indeed allow the Uchiha clan to quickly gain a foothold in Konoha, but controlling the Daimyo would allow Yusuke to control the political resources of the Land of Fire’s upper echelon, paving the way for the Uchiha clan to eventually dominate Konoha and even the Land of Fire.

As for the Third Hokage’s own strength, Yusuke didn’t really care. In Yusuke’s plan, his three disciples would all become Kage-level or even above-Kage-level ninjas in the future!

Although controlling the Daimyo with ”Kotoamatsukami” was very simple, Yusuke couldn’t just let Genya charge into the Daimyo’s room and forcefully use ”Kotoamatsukami.”

After all, as the highest leader of the Land of Fire, the Daimyo was also protected by many elite ninjas.

Otherwise, if any ninja could assassinate the Daimyo, the Five Great Nations would have already fallen into chaos.

Not long after, the Daimyo came out of his room. He saw the crow perched on the branch.

This was his chance. In an instant, Genya’s pupils turned into the pattern of Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan, and he used ”Kotoamatsukami.”

The will that Genya imposed on the Daimyo was very simple: to believe that the Uchiha clan could make the Land of Fire stronger and to unconditionally trust the clan leader of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Yusuke!

”Kotoamatsukami” was truly the strongest genjutsu. It controlled the Daimyo in an instant, leaving no trace. The ninjas guarding the Daimyo didn’t notice anything unusual.

After using ”Kotoamatsukami,” Genya’s eyes returned to normal. He spread his wings and flew towards Konoha.

At this time, the Third Hokage in Konoha had no idea that his boss had become Yusuke’s puppet!
