Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 79: NZNT: Chapter 79

Shortly after Yusuke officially became the clan leader of the Uchiha clan, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire summoned the Third Hokage, the Hokage advisors, and Yusuke to the Land of Fire’s capital to discuss the nomination of Yusuke as the new Hokage advisor.

Before the discussion began, the Daimyo met with Yusuke alone.

Although Yusuke had used ”Kotoamatsukami” to impose his will on the Daimyo, it didn’t change the Daimyo’s personality or his understanding of common sense.

Therefore, besides his absolute trust in Yusuke, the Daimyo’s other ways of handling affairs hadn’t changed at all. This was the magical aspect of the ”Kotoamatsukami” genjutsu.

During this meeting, Yusuke openly criticized the Konoha management team led by the Third Hokage. Under their management, Konoha had gone from prosperity to decline in just a few years.

A few years ago, Konoha had masters like the White Fang, the Sannin, the Yellow Flash, Danzō, and Uchiha Fugaku. It was a time of great prosperity. No other ninja village dared to challenge Konoha’s authority.

But now, the White Fang had committed suicide, the Sannin had left the village, and the Yellow Flash was in a coma. Danzō’s Root organization and the Uchiha clan had also fought each other, leading to the destruction of Danzō and Root, and the Uchiha clan suffered heavy losses.

All of this clearly showed the incompetence of the Third Hokage and the management team he led.

Under Yusuke’s reasoned analysis and the influence of ”Kotoamatsukami,” the Daimyo fully agreed with Yusuke’s perspective. He was also very dissatisfied with the Third Hokage and the two current Hokage advisors.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Yusuke proposed a plan to restructure Konoha’s management team, which the Daimyo supported.

In the subsequent meeting with the Third Hokage and the two Hokage advisors, the Daimyo personally proposed the restructuring plan for Konoha’s management team that Yusuke had outlined. He added two new positions: Chief Advisor and Honorary Advisor, to help the Hokage make decisions.

Although it was said to be ”help,” anyone could see that this was actually a way to balance the Hokage’s power, greatly reducing his authority.

The Third Hokage and the two advisors raised objections, but under the Daimyo’s insistence, they had no choice but to compromise in the end.

When Yusuke, the Third Hokage, and the others returned to Konoha, the Third Hokage had no choice but to officially announce the three appointments proposed by the Daimyo.

These three appointments left everyone in Konoha in disbelief and made all the forces realize that the power distribution in Konoha was about to undergo a major reshuffle.

The first appointment was to appoint the current clan leader of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Yusuke, as the Chief Hokage Advisor. The Chief Hokage Advisor’s position was higher than that of a Hokage advisor.

The reason for the appointment was to commend Yusuke for breaking up Danzō and Root’s attempts to disrupt Konoha’s stability and for exposing the numerous crimes committed by Danzō and Root. It was also to commemorate the contributions of the entire Uchiha clan to the Land of Fire since its participation in the founding of Konoha.

The second appointment was to add a new Honorary Advisor.

The Daimyo was very dissatisfied with the inaction of Konoha’s high-ranking officials in recent years. He decided to appoint an Honorary Advisor to represent him in overseeing Konoha’s high-ranking officials. When Konoha’s high-ranking officials had major disagreements on decisions, they could report to the Daimyo for a final decision.

This Honorary Advisor was naturally the helper that Yusuke had found for himself, increasing his influence in high-level decision-making.

The third appointment was a brand new position. Konoha would establish a ”Konoha Research Institute,” dedicated to the development of jutsu and tools. Yusuke would be the first director and would be fully responsible for the construction and operation of the institute. All the researchers who had previously belonged to Root would be transferred to the Konoha Research Institute.

From this point forward, the Uchiha clan officially returned to the political core of Konoha, and the name Uchiha Yusuke spread throughout the ninja world.

Yusuke now held four positions: Chief Hokage Advisor, Director of the Konoha Research Institute, Head of the Konoha Police Force, and clan leader of the Uchiha clan.

With his power in hand, Yusuke immediately began to reorganize the Uchiha clan. He took back all the power of the three clan elders and entrusted it to Souichiro and Itachi.

At the same time, Yusuke established an audit team led by Itachi to severely punish those clan members who had misbehaved. Of course, most of those punished were the radical clan members.

If Fugaku had been clan leader and wanted to implement these measures, he would have faced enormous backlash within the clan. It wouldn’t even be impossible for him to be overthrown.

But now, with Yusuke, who had immense prestige, leading the reform, no one in the clan dared to object. The clan’s reorganization was successfully completed.

After resolving the clan’s ”internal troubles,” Yusuke officially opened up the recruitment range for the Police Force. Many small ninja clans and ninjas without affiliations began to join the Police Force.

Some larger ninja clans, such as the Aburame clan, the Nara clan, etc., also sent a few members to join the Police Force. This was considered a good start to contact the Uchiha clan and expressed their intention to no longer be hostile to them.

Almost all the forces keenly sensed that the person with the most authority in Konoha would no longer be the Hokage but the young Chief Hokage Advisor, who was fully supported by the Daimyo!

In the Head of the Police Force’s office, Yusuke, Itachi, and Souichiro were discussing the recent reorganization of the clan.

”How are the radical clan members doing? Are any of them daring to cause trouble?” Yusuke asked.

Souichiro laughed, ”No, those guys are all behaving now. It’s all thanks to Clan Leader’s prestige!”

Since Fugaku’s death, Souichiro had become Yusuke’s capable assistant. Although his personal strength was average, he was mature and steady in his work and had some prestige within the clan. Yusuke trusted him.

Hearing Souichiro’s words, Itachi shook his head, ”Teacher’s prestige is only one aspect. If we just rely on prestige to forcibly suppress opponents, the clan will eventually revert to its old ways.”

”The reason why those radicals are quiet now is mainly because of your measures, Teacher. It’s made the clan return to the core of the village and gradually take a leading position. Even the radical clan members have been convinced.”

Souichiro nodded in agreement.

Yusuke waved his hand, ”I’ll only manage these trivial matters for now. I’ll leave the Police Force entirely to you two.”

”I’ll still focus on training. Only report things that you can’t handle to me.”

Itachi and Souichiro said in unison, ”Understood!”

At this time, a young Uchiha ninja named Uchiha Haruyuki, who was a talented young ninja in the clan, entered the office, holding a stack of clothes.

Although Uchiha Haruyuki was rather plump, he was very agile. He had also awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan.

Seeing that he was talented and very clever, Yusuke had appointed him as his assistant to run errands for him. Of course, Yusuke would also occasionally guide him in his ninjutsu training, which greatly benefited him.

It’s worth mentioning that Uchiha Haruyuki was the one who had timidly said at the previous clan meeting, ”If we’re making a disciple the leader, why not directly make Yusuke-sama the clan leader?”

”Clan Leader, this is the Hokage advisor’s shawl and scarf that was custom-made for you. Please try it on,” Uchiha Haruyuki said to Yusuke, holding the clothes in his hands.

Yusuke picked up the light green shawl and looked at it. He imagined Homura Mitokado’s style and instantly lost interest in this ”Hokage advisor outfit.”

He waved his hand and picked up a white lab coat from the coat rack and put it on, ”Just put the shawl and scarf in the cabinet. I’ll just wear the Research Institute director’s lab coat from now on.”

Yusuke was still wearing his Konoha jōnin uniform vest, but the difference was that he now had a white lab coat over it, representing the identity of the Konoha Research Institute director.

”Itachi, Souichiro, the Police Force is in your hands. I have something to do at the Hokage Tower.” After speaking, Yusuke left the Police Force office.

When Yusuke arrived at the Third Hokage’s office in the Hokage Tower, the Third Hokage and several advisors were already present.

Yesterday, Konoha had received a letter from Kumogakure. The letter mentioned that Kumogakure would soon send an envoy to visit Konoha and continue to establish a peace treaty between the two ninja villages.

The Third Hokage had called this meeting with the advisors to discuss how to receive the Kumogakure envoy and the content of the treaty.

As a time traveler, Yusuke naturally knew the conspiracy behind Kumogakure’s envoy visiting Konoha.

Establishing a peace treaty was just an excuse. The real purpose was actually the Hyuga clan’s Byakugan.

In the original story, the Kumogakure ninja who visited secretly kidnapped Hyuga Hinata, the Hyuga clan’s eldest daughter. After he was killed by Hyuga Hiashi, they forcefully demanded that Konoha hand over the culprit who had killed the visiting ninja.

After deliberation, Konoha’s high-ranking officials and the Hyuga clan ultimately chose to have Hyuga Hiashi’s younger brother, Hyuga Hizashi, who was from the branch family, die in his brother’s place to resolve the crisis.

This choice not only gave Kumogakure no excuse to start a war, but also ensured that the Byakugan on Hyuga Hizashi’s body, who had the ”Cage Bird” curse mark, could not be used or researched, protecting the Hyuga clan’s Byakugan secret.

Therefore, for Konoha’s high-ranking officials, this was the most perfect solution.

But this wasn’t the outcome that Yusuke wanted to see now. Yusuke wouldn’t choose the same approach as Konoha’s high-ranking officials in the original story, sacrificing their own people to appease their enemies.

After all, in Yusuke’s mind, Konoha was already his asset. He didn’t want to offer his face to Kumogakure to step on.

A slight smile appeared on Yusuke’s lips as he thought to himself.

”This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.”

”Once Kumogakure takes the initiative to stir up trouble, Konoha can launch a righteous war to defend its territory!” ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

”This war will not only be about taking Kumogakure’s tailed beast but also about pushing my reputation and the Uchiha clan’s reputation to the peak of the village!”

After discussing the Kumogakure envoy’s visit with the Third Hokage and the others, Yusuke left the Hokage Tower and returned to his laboratory. He entered his spirit world and began his training for the day.

Yusuke had a feeling that he had made some breakthroughs in his mastery of Ryūjin Jakka recently.

And today, he would try the power of his Bankai again!

His training method was still to fight against Ryūjin Jakka’s manifestation. Although Yusuke had split off one-fifth of his soul a while ago, Ryūjin Jakka felt that Yusuke’s power hadn’t decreased but had actually increased. He had a new aura.

Their swordsmanship clashed repeatedly, scorching flames flying everywhere. Although Yusuke was still no match for Ryūjin Jakka, he had a faint sense of being evenly matched.

”That’s a little interesting!”

Blocking Yusuke’s powerful slash, Ryūjin Jakka pressed down on the blade, looking at Yusuke in front of him.

”It seems you’ve changed quite a bit recently. You always couldn’t unleash the domineering power of the flames before. But now, you’ve given me a little hope,” Ryūjin Jakka continued.

Looking at the Ryūjin Jakka manifestation, which looked exactly like him, Yusuke’s eyes seemed to be filled with flames. He grinned, ”People always change with their environment. It’s time for me to change too.”

”Bankai: Zanka no Tachi!”

Yusuke’s Reiatsu suddenly surged around him, forcing Ryūjin Jakka to take two steps back.

This Reiatsu didn’t spread out but, along with the flames surrounding his body, flowed into the katana in Yusuke’s hand. The blade, which had originally shimmered with a cold light, became a dark red!

Looking at the seemingly ordinary katana in Yusuke’s hand, which concealed the power of raging flames, Ryūjin Jakka’s eyes flashed with brilliance. He exclaimed in admiration, ”Good! I didn’t expect you to succeed!”

”I thought you could only reach Bankai by constantly honing your skills and increasing your Reiatsu. It seems you’re not so hopeless after all.”

Since becoming clan leader of the Uchiha clan and then further becoming the Chief Hokage Advisor, Yusuke had felt his mindset and aura gradually changing.

An aura and domineering presence he hadn’t had before began to form around him.

Of course, the aura that Yusuke commanded was still far inferior to that of someone like the Captain-Commander. After all, the other’s domineering presence was mostly innate, while Yusuke’s had gradually developed through his change in status.

”If a domineering man like Madara had gotten his hands on Ryūjin Jakka, he probably would have unified the ninja world by now,” Yusuke couldn’t help but think to himself.

”How about it? Try out the power of your ”Zanka no Tachi?” Ryūjin Jakka smiled at Yusuke.

”Zanka no Tachi” was one form of Ryūjin Jakka’s Bankai. It could seal all of its Reiatsu into the blade of the Zanpakutō. When Zanka no Tachi struck its target, the Reiatsu sealed within the blade would instantly erupt, creating a burst of flames that would incinerate the enemy to ashes.

In terms of power, ”Zanka no Tachi” was the most basic form of Ryūjin Jakka’s Bankai. Its destructive power was far inferior to that of the ”Zanka no Tachi - East - Kyokujitsu.”

Although he was only using the most basic form of Ryūjin Jakka’s Bankai, and his Reiatsu was far less than that of the Captain-Commander, Yusuke could feel that even Shisui’s Susanoo from before could be incinerated to ashes with one strike from him now!

He deactivated his Bankai. The dark red color on the blade of the katana in Yusuke’s hand gradually faded.

”There are no enemies in the spirit world, so I can’t see the true power of Bankai.”

”But I already have a very good target to test it on!”

The next day, the Third Hokage officially announced the upcoming visit of the Kumogakure envoy and assigned Nara Shikaku to be in charge of the reception.

Everyone in Konoha thought this was a peaceful and friendly visit. No one imagined that it would be the spark that ignited a war!

At this time, Yusuke arrived at the Hatake clan’s compound.
