Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 67: NZNT: Chapter 67

Itachi didn’t budge under Danzō’s intimidation and insisted on dealing with him first because when Yusuke activated ”Kagero Dance,” he sensed Yusuke’s chakra.

Knowing that Yusuke had returned to the clan, Itachi was completely relieved. Now, all he had to do was take down Danzō.

Looking at Itachi, who seemed calm and indifferent to him, Danzō snorted heavily. Four Root ninjas suddenly jumped out of the nearby lake. This was clearly a backup plan Danzō had prepared.

Danzō was also very wary of the Uchiha clan’s genjutsu.

There was a saying in the ninja world: ”When facing an Uchiha clan member one-on-one, you can only run away.” It was because it was difficult for a single person to handle the Uchiha clan’s dojutsu.

Although this was a general statement and didn’t apply to all ninjas, it illustrated the power of the Uchiha clan’s dojutsu.

By calling out the four Root jōnin who had been waiting in ambush, Danzō’s goal was to have them support him if he fell under genjutsu.

”Uchiha Itachi, you’re out of time. I’m going to send you to see Fugaku soon!”

Looking at Itachi, Danzō said confidently.

In Danzō’s opinion, with the support of his subordinates, he was completely unafraid of Itachi’s genjutsu.

He and his four jōnin-level subordinates could easily deal with Itachi.

But at this moment, Danzō saw that the Mangekyō Sharingan in Itachi’s eyes suddenly became illusory.

As the scene in front of him suddenly rotated and changed, it eventually turned into a world of only black and red.

Danzō knew that he had fallen into Itachi’s genjutsu, but thinking that his subordinates were still there, he wasn’t worried.

”I know you’re a skilled genjutsu ninja, but I still have four subordinates. Even if I’m caught in genjutsu, they can support me or attack you at any time!”

Finding himself bound to a rack in a humiliating kneeling position by Itachi, Danzō suppressed his anger and said coldly.

Itachi didn’t respond to Danzō’s words. He still had a blank expression, but he now held a thin, cone-shaped weapon in his hand.

But this cone-shaped weapon was no ordinary weapon. It was covered with countless small barbs, which would make anyone’s scalp tingle. It was hard to imagine the pain of being stabbed by such a weapon and then having it pulled out of your body.

With a piercing sound of metal entering flesh and Danzō’s scream, Itachi’s cone-shaped weapon pierced deeply into Danzō’s abdomen.

”This genjutsu is called Tsukuyomi. Those without the Sharingan can’t resist it.”

”In the world of Tsukuyomi, space, time, and matter—all are under my control.”

”Enjoy the next 72 hours of pain!”

As Itachi pulled the cone-shaped weapon with countless barbs out of Danzō’s body, Danzō screamed in agony.

But Danzō’s willpower was incredibly strong. Despite such intense pain, he didn’t faint and remained conscious.

You see, the human body has a protective mechanism. When it experiences unbearable mental pain, the brain forces the person to fall into a coma to protect the mind from collapsing.

For example, in the original story, Kakashi was tortured by Itachi in the world of Tsukuyomi. Each time, he would faint from the excruciating pain and then wake up again, repeating the cycle.

But the next moment, Danzō suddenly realized that he was completely unharmed. What scared him was that he still hadn’t escaped the genjutsu called ”Tsukuyomi.” Two Itachis, each holding a cone-shaped weapon with barbs, were standing in front of him.

Itachi still had a blank expression. He stabbed the weapon in his hand into Danzō’s body again, while continuously repeating the words he had said before.

”This genjutsu is called Tsukuyomi. In the world of Tsukuyomi, I control everything.”

”Enjoy the next 71 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds of pain!”

Hearing Itachi’s words, Danzō looked at the blood-red moon in the sky of the Tsukuyomi world and let out a desperate cry, ”No!!!”

With a thud, Danzō suddenly collapsed to the ground, weak, before the surprised eyes of the four Root jōnin.

”Danzō-sama!”

The four Root ninjas immediately rushed forward to support Danzō, asking what had happened.

Danzō’s face was now extremely pale. Fine beads of cold sweat covered his forehead, and his lips were completely bloodless.

Danzō didn’t speak. He just looked at Itachi, who was looking down at him, with bloodshot eyes.

The pain he had suffered in the world of ”Tsukuyomi” was unprecedented for Danzō. If he had to go through it again, even he would surely collapse.

”You useless fools, didn’t you notice that I was under genjutsu? Why didn’t you do anything?”

Danzō coldly shouted at his subordinates, but his voice was now very weak.

The four Root ninjas looked at each other, confused, and one of them replied, ”Danzō-sama, you just called us out, and then you suddenly collapsed. We didn’t notice any signs that you were under genjutsu.”

Hearing this, Danzō understood the mechanism of the ”Tsukuyomi” genjutsu. It was clear that he had been tortured for 72 hours in that illusory world, but it had only been a moment in reality.

Thinking about this, Danzō immediately used chakra to block his optic nerves again to prevent himself from being caught again.

As Danzō was catching his breath, Itachi, who had just unleashed his ultimate move, ”Tsukuyomi,” felt intense discomfort in his eyes.

The drain on dojutsu power from ”Tsukuyomi” was proportional to its power. This caused Itachi, who had just awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and was using this ability for the first time, to suddenly experience blurry vision and excruciating pain in his eyes.

But what shocked Itachi the most was that Danzō had actually withstood the power of ”Tsukuyomi.” He had experienced such pain and hadn’t suffered a mental breakdown.

Although Itachi hated Danzō deeply, he couldn’t help but admire his willpower.

At this time, Danzō roared, pushing away the two Root ninjas who were supporting him, and stood up on his own strength.

”I’m the one who will unify the ninja world. How can I fall here?”

”How can I fall here?!”

As Danzō finished speaking, he had already charged towards Itachi with the four Root ninjas.

Although Danzō was mentally exhausted and his strength was only about 30% of his normal level, the four Root ninjas assisting him were elite ninjas who excelled in combat.

Under the attack of the five, Itachi, whose eyes were in excruciating pain, was quickly on the defensive.

Itachi was only ten years old at this time. He was far from the strength he had when he appeared in the original story. He hadn’t expected ”Tsukuyomi” to put such a heavy burden on his eyes.

Just when Itachi was about to be overwhelmed, a powerful pressure from his soul suddenly descended upon Danzō and the other four Root ninjas.

It was Yusuke, who had just arrived!

He was using his ability to release Reiatsu to suppress Danzō and the others.

”Who’s there!”

Sensing a strong killing intent, Danzō was shocked. He instinctively pulled a Root ninja in front of him to shield himself and used the momentum to dodge to the side.

A scream rang out. The Root ninja who had been pulled to be a shield was cut in half. His upper body struggled for a few moments before going still.

”Danzō, tonight is your death.”

Yusuke walked towards Danzō step by step, his katana raised, his expression cold.

Although his face was emotionless, everyone present could see the killing intent and determination in his eyes.

”Teacher!”

Seeing Yusuke standing in front of him, Itachi’s voice was filled with excitement. In that moment, he felt like he had found a pillar of support.
