Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 54: NZNZT: Chapter 54

Konoha Village.

It was late at night, and there were no pedestrians around the Uchiha clan headquarters, which was located on the outskirts of Konoha Village.

However, when Itachi arrived at the police force, he couldn’t find his father, Uchiha Fugaku.

After asking Uchiha Souichiro, his father’s assistant, he learned that Danzō had already been there before he arrived. Shisui had accompanied Danzō.

”I don’t know what Danzō and the clan leader talked about in the office. They left together not long after. I don’t know where they went,” another Uchiha clan member beside Uchiha Souichiro said to Itachi.

Since the Uchiha clan didn’t have a good relationship with Danzō, almost all the Uchiha clan members addressed him directly by name, without using honorifics.

Hearing this, Itachi decided to gather the clan members first and then go find his father.

After all, Danzō had personally come here. It was very likely that the conspiracy against the clan had already begun to be executed. He had to make the clan members aware of the danger.

Itachi sent the others in the police department away and spoke to Uchiha Souichiro alone, ”Danzō might be about to attack the clan. And the goal might be to destroy our entire Uchiha clan.”

Then, Itachi explained his observations and analysis to Souichiro.

Uchiha Souichiro had always been Fugaku’s confidant, and Itachi trusted him very much. He told Souichiro these speculations because Itachi needed a capable person to help him shoulder some of the burden at this time.

Hearing Itachi’s analysis, Souichiro felt a chill in his heart and was momentarily flustered. But seeing Itachi’s calm demeanor, Souichiro suddenly felt like he had a backbone.

”Itachi, do you have any solutions?” Souichiro asked expectantly.

Itachi shook his head and said slowly, ”To be honest, I don’t have any solutions. After all, I don’t know Danzō’s specific plan yet. But we can gather the clan’s strength first and have those who can’t fight evacuate.”

”I’ll leave this to you. When you arrange the clan members, just do it in Father’s name. I need to find Father. He can’t be harmed at this critical juncture!”

After giving Souichiro his instructions, Itachi immediately used the Genjutsu Crow Book to send out dozens of genjutsu crows to find his father, Uchiha Fugaku.

”Yusuke-sensei, if you were here now, how great it would be!” At this time, Itachi couldn’t help but think of Yusuke. He sighed again.

By a lake not far from the police force, Danzō, Shisui, and Fugaku were slowly strolling along.

The bright moonlight shone on the lake. Beneath the seemingly peaceful and serene atmosphere, there was a fierce killing intent hidden.

”Danzō-sama, I wonder what important matter brings you to the Uchiha clan?” Fugaku asked.

When Danzō had come to visit today, he said he wanted to find a quiet place to talk to him. Fugaku had been very surprised.

Fugaku had suspected that Danzō might want to negotiate a compromise with him, but he never dreamed that Danzō would want to destroy the entire Uchiha clan.

Danzō said slowly, ”This time, I’m here to talk to you about the future of the Uchiha clan!”

”Oh? What are your thoughts, Danzō-sama?” Fugaku looked at Danzō.

At this time, Danzō also turned to look at Fugaku. Their eyes met. Fugaku felt that Danzō’s eyes were full of killing intent.

”For the future of the village, I think...”

”The Uchiha clan no longer has a reason to exist!”

As soon as Danzō said this, Fugaku’s first reaction was that he had misheard.

But as Danzō finished speaking, eight Root ninjas rushed out from the forest by the lake, surrounding him.

This formation shattered the last bit of hope in Fugaku’s heart. He prepared himself for a desperate battle.

However, what Fugaku was most worried about at this time wasn’t his own safety, but the entire clan. It was obvious that Danzō was now going to attack the entire Uchiha clan.

Fugaku turned to look at Shisui, who was still standing motionless behind Danzō. His eyes were full of anger and disbelief. He also felt a sense of disappointment and sadness in his chest.

Shisui was one of Fugaku’s most valued juniors in the clan, but at this moment of life or death for the clan, he was standing on the opposite side.

Although Shisui had already shown his stance through his actions, Fugaku still didn’t want to believe it. He asked Shisui in a low voice, ”As a member of the Uchiha clan, tell me what your choice is.”

Facing Fugaku, Shisui felt guilty in his heart. But thinking about the irreconcilable conflict between the clan and the village, thinking about the future of Konoha, Shisui remained firm in his decision.

Shisui said, ”Clan leader, the clan and the village can no longer coexist.”

”For the sake of the village’s stability, to prevent a larger-scale internal conflict and casualties in the future, we need to cut the Gordian knot now!”

Hearing this, Fugaku roared, ”Uchiha Shisui, don’t forget what your last name is!”

Looking at Fugaku without fear, Shisui said in a deep voice, ”I’m Uchiha Shisui, but I’m also Konoha’s Shisui!”

At this time, Danzō raised his hand and waved. The eight Root ninjas immediately sprang into action. But they didn’t surround Fugaku. Instead, they scattered and cast a barrier, surrounding Danzō, Shisui, and Fugaku.

It was obvious that these Root members weren’t combat members. They were just a barrier team to trap Fugaku. The real battle would be fought between Danzō, Shisui, and Fugaku.

Shisui slowly drew the short sword on his back, and the Sharingan pattern appeared in his eyes.

Fugaku also activated his Sharingan, staring coldly at Shisui and Danzō.

The battle was about to begin!

During the Uchiha clan massacre in the original story, Fugaku had completely given up resisting.

But that didn’t mean that he wasn’t Itachi’s opponent at that time. A large part of this was because Itachi was his son, and Sasuke was also given a chance to survive.

However, now that the person carrying out the massacre was Shisui, Fugaku wouldn’t just sit back and wait for death.

As Danzō, Shisui, and Fugaku were facing off, Root had already deployed all its members to eliminate the outposts around the Uchiha clan headquarters. At the same time, they cast a large-scale genjutsu barrier to completely seal off the Uchiha clan headquarters.

This genjutsu barrier would confuse people’s vision and hearing. Even if a large-scale battle took place inside the Uchiha clan headquarters, people far away wouldn’t notice anything unusual.

And to prevent ninjas within Konoha from discovering the barrier, Root had also blocked the roads between the village and the Uchiha clan headquarters ahead of time, prohibiting anyone in the village from approaching the Uchiha clan headquarters tonight.

At this moment, the Uchiha clan headquarters was like a closed island. Konoha’s high-ranking officials’ plan to destroy the Uchiha clan had officially begun to be executed!
