Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 68: NZNT: Chapter 68

”Impossible! How could you possibly have come back from Amegakure? Did you never leave Konoha?”

Looking at Yusuke, who had suddenly appeared in front of him, Danzō asked in shock.

To completely eliminate the Uchiha clan, Danzō had deliberately joined forces with the Third Hokage to use a feint to draw Yusuke away. He had also teamed up with Obito to set a trap, hoping to eliminate Yusuke with the power of Akatsuki.

But now, Yusuke’s appearance had plunged Danzō into true despair. He had no power left to deal with this man, which meant his plan had completely failed!

”Danzō, except for you and these few, all the other Root ninjas who participated in the attack on the Uchiha clan have been wiped out. The reinforcement you called has also escaped.”

”Do you have anything else you want to say before you die?”

Looking at Danzō, Yusuke said calmly.

Hearing this, Danzō’s expression instantly became ferocious. His eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, like a demon from hell.

Ever since Sarutobi became the Third Hokage, Danzō had established Root and had been diligently cultivating it until now. Root was everything to Danzō!

Now, all his years of hard work had gone to waste. Danzō had an urge to charge at Yusuke and fight to the death. But his rational mind knew he had no chance of winning. He forcibly held himself back.

”You guys, stop him. Buy me some time!”

Suddenly, Danzō issued his final order to the three Root ninjas. Then, he quickly turned and ran away.

The three Root ninjas exchanged glances and, regardless of their own lives, charged at Yusuke.

Activating his curse mark, Yusuke released Ryūjin Jakka, drawing upon his Reiatsu to meet the three Root ninjas head-on.

”Flame Annihilation!”

A golden-red blade light flashed, and three charred corpses fell to the ground. Yusuke quickly chased after Danzō, who was running away.

Yusuke was now going all out. No one could stop his determination to kill Danzō!

Danzō had to die!

Sensing the scorching heat coming from behind him, Danzō turned back in terror. He saw Yusuke’s eyes, filled with murderous intent.

”Ah!”

With a scream, Danzō’s left arm flew into the air, broken at the elbow. He hadn’t been able to dodge in time and had used his left arm to block Yusuke’s slash.

Looking at the flames still burning along the break in his left arm, Danzō, in order to save his life, grabbed a kunai with his right hand and brutally severed his left arm at the shoulder. For a moment, half of Danzō’s body was completely drenched in blood.

Seeing Danzō’s tenacious will to survive, Yusuke couldn’t help but sigh.

Danzō was indeed a formidable opponent. Although his strength was considered the weakest among the Kage-level ninjas, his ruthlessness, cruelty, and willpower were undoubtedly top-notch.

He had previously been subjected to ”Tsukuyomi,” a genjutsu that caused immense mental trauma, and now his left arm had been severed at the shoulder. At this time, Danzō was almost at his wit’s end.

However, Danzō didn’t give up on survival. He continued to limp forward, trying to escape. But although he was running, his speed was about the same as an ordinary person walking.

”I can’t die. Only I can bring lasting peace to the ninja world!” Danzō kept repeating these words incoherently.

Releasing Ryūjin Jakka’s Shikai, Yusuke instantly appeared in front of Danzō. He raised his katana, pointing it at Danzō.

”Uchiha Yusuke, you can’t kill me. You don’t understand the mission I’m trying to accomplish!” Danzō roared at Yusuke, his face contorted with desperation.

But seeing that neither Yusuke nor Itachi, who had arrived nearby, was moved, Danzō roared in a mournful tone, ”You all want my life, but who understands my heart?”

”Who understands my heart?!”

Looking at Danzō, who was shouting with all his might, Yusuke said coldly, ”Ridiculous!”

”An old scoundrel who hides in the shadows and will stop at nothing to achieve his ambitions, daring to speak so arrogantly.”

”If the ninja world needs someone like you to bring peace, then this world truly has no hope!”

Before Yusuke finished speaking, with a flash of blade light and a spray of blood, Danzō’s head was in Yusuke’s hand. His ferocious expression, filled with bewilderment, was forever frozen on his face.

Thus, the great warlord, Danzō, fell.

Because Danzō had been beheaded by Yusuke, the bandages that had been tightly wrapped around his head and right half were instantly scattered, revealing the body underneath.

Danzō’s skin, hidden under the bandages, was a grayish-green color, completely different from the color of the skin on the other half of his body.

”Teacher, Danzō’s body seems unusual?” Itachi asked Yusuke, who was standing nearby.

Yusuke nodded, ”Yes, Danzō has been using the First Hokage’s cells to conduct human experiments. It seems he’s started to modify his own body.”

Hearing the words ”human experiments,” Itachi frowned, ”Did the Third Hokage know about this?”

”The Third Hokage shouldn’t have tolerated human experiments. After all, Orochimaru, one of the Sannin, was discovered by the Third Hokage for this reason and then defected from the village.”

”Do you think the Third Hokage knew?” Yusuke didn’t answer Itachi directly but asked a question in return.

Itachi sighed. He already had the answer in his heart. Then, he curiously asked Yusuke, ”Teacher, how did you know all this?”

Yusuke glanced at Itachi, ”That’s why I’m your teacher.”

Itachi: ”...”

After dealing with Danzō, Yusuke walked towards Shisui, who was still lying on his back, gasping for breath. Itachi, carrying Fugaku’s body in his arms, walked over as well.

”Do you have any last words?”

Looking at Shisui, who was staring blankly at the night sky, his face filled with tears, Yusuke said slowly.

Shisui’s eyes, which had been staring straight ahead, moved and turned towards Yusuke.

”Kill me,” Shisui said flatly. Grief can be overwhelming. It was obvious that Shisui, whose ideals had been shattered, was now heartbroken.

”Teacher, can I talk to Shisui for a bit?” Itachi asked Yusuke.

Yusuke nodded in agreement.

Looking at Shisui, Itachi said slowly,

”Shisui, is this your ’capacity’?”

”You were first manipulated by outsiders, stood against your clan, and wanted to personally destroy your family. Now, after failing, you want to die?”

”If you think escaping responsibility is your so-called ’capacity,’ then I can only look down on you!”

”Shouldn’t you be fighting for your clan with all your might now, making up for the mistakes you made?”

After finishing his verbal assault, Itachi looked at Shisui with a hopeful gaze.

Hearing Itachi’s words, a glimmer of light flashed in Shisui’s eyes, but it quickly dimmed.

He shook his head. His voice was filled with regret, and tears welled up in his eyes again, ”Itachi, I’m sorry. I can’t face any of my clan members anymore!”
