Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 82: NZNT: Chapter 82

”Roar!!”

The Shinigami, tightly suppressed by Yusuke, roared angrily. The ghost flames surrounding its body suddenly erupted, completely enveloping it.

With the ghost flames protecting its body, the Shinigami no longer feared being hit by the flames wrapping around Ryūjin Jakka. The ghost flames could automatically counteract the flames on Ryūjin Jakka.

But because the ghost flames were countered by the Yang flames, the Shinigami’s consumption was significantly higher than Yusuke’s. However, the Shinigami’s soul power was inherently stronger than Yusuke’s, so it didn’t mind this consumption.

Gradually, the Shinigami began to turn the tide. While frantically attacking with its short sword, it also continuously used its soul power to unleash a five-meter radius hemispherical shockwave around its body, similar to the ”Arcane Explosion” skill of a mage in a game called ”World of Warcraft” from Yusuke’s previous life.

Yusuke had to dodge these attacks. If he were to be touched by these ghost flames, it would burn his soul, which would be very troublesome for Yusuke, who was currently relying on Reiatsu to fight.

While keeping his distance from the Shinigami, Yusuke also kicked Hidan’s head far away to prevent it from being accidentally injured. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

”A-oh~~” Hidan’s head made a long, drawn-out sound as it flew through the air.

Looking at the Shinigami, with its green face, sharp fangs, and swirling ghost flames, Yusuke exclaimed in admiration, ”It’s no wonder it’s called the ’Shinigami.’ It’s really not easy to deal with. But that’s good enough to test the power of Bankai!”

Raising his arm, Yusuke held Ryūjin Jakka horizontally in front of his chest. He slowly spoke.

”Bankai: Zanka no Tachi!”

All the spiritual energy surrounding Yusuke and the flames burning on Ryūjin Jakka in his hand flowed into the blade. The blade also turned into a dull, dark red.

Hidan’s head, which had been kicked far away by Yusuke, saw Yusuke’s transformation and shouted in fear, ”You not only put out the fire, but your sword is rusty too. Let’s run together!”

The Shinigami, however, showed a puzzled expression. The enemy in front of him had suddenly withdrawn his aura. Not only had the spiritual energy around his body disappeared, but the flames on his weapon had also vanished.

But for some reason, the Shinigami felt that he had become even more dangerous.

Yusuke, who had activated his Bankai, didn’t give the Shinigami much time to think. He rushed towards the Shinigami, holding his Zanpakutō.

Seeing the murderous Yusuke, the Shinigami immediately released its spiritual energy, creating another hemispherical ghost flame shockwave around its body.

But this time, Yusuke didn’t retreat. Instead, he thrust his Zanpakutō forward, its tip touching the ghost flames in front of him.

With just a light touch, a blindingly bright spot suddenly appeared where the tip of the blade met the ghost flames. From this bright spot, a wave of blazing gold flames instantly surged forth, igniting the ghost flames that the Shinigami had released.

In an instant, all the blue ghost flames in the hemispherical area centered on the Shinigami turned golden. The Shinigami, engulfed in these golden flames, let out a terrifying roar.

But relying on its powerful soul power, the Shinigami continuously released a large amount of blue ghost flames from its body, stubbornly resisting the burning of the golden flames.

Yusuke hadn’t used his full power. The power of Bankai was too strong. Yusuke was also worried that one strike would incinerate the Shinigami to nothingness, ruining his plan to use the Shinigami to create Yin Release Chakra Crystals.

But it seemed that the Shinigami’s soul power was still very abundant. Yusuke no longer hesitated and immediately activated the ”Two World Seal,” drawing on the Yin Release chakra of the Nine-Tails and continuing to infuse it into the ”Ryūka no Ken” in his hand.

The ghost flames inside the Shinigami’s body surged out like they were free, using its vast soul power to forcefully extinguish the surrounding golden flames.

However, it was clear that the Shinigami’s soul consumption was significant. Its body had shrunk by a whole circle.

But before the Shinigami could breathe a sigh of relief, Yusuke instantly appeared beside it. In the Shinigami’s terrified gaze, Yusuke swung his blade again, slashing at the Shinigami.

Instinctively, the Shinigami raised its short sword to block. The moment the short sword collided with the dark red katana in Yusuke’s hand, another wave of golden flames erupted, igniting the Shinigami once more.

The power of the Zanpakutō and its techniques wasn’t fixed but had a great range of variation depending on the user’s Reiatsu. With the addition of a large amount of Nine-Tails Yin Release chakra converted into Reiatsu, Yusuke’s Reiatsu increased significantly, causing the flames to erupt with several times more power than before!

The Shinigami desperately wanted to escape back to its own space, but it knew that even if it ran away immediately, the flames that were burning it like a leech would follow it, ultimately leading to its demise.

With a painful roar, the Shinigami actually showed a look of submission and began to beg Yusuke, ”Save me. I’m willing to submit.”

It wasn’t uncommon for summoned creatures to speak. Not to mention the toads, snakes, and slugs of the Three Great Sage Sites, even some relatively ordinary summoned beasts, such as Kakashi’s summoned dog, Pakkun, Guy’s summoned turtle, and the ninja cat clan, could all communicate in human language.

As it spoke, the Shinigami’s body had shrunk to one-fifth of its original size. It was clear that it couldn’t hold on much longer under the burning of the ”Zanka no Tachi” flames.

Seeing this, Yusuke, who was about to dismember the Shinigami, changed his mind. He quickly took out a large scroll from his storage scroll.

This was a summoning scroll that hadn’t been signed with any creature yet. Yusuke had prepared it a long time ago, intending to use it to sign a contract when he encountered a suitable summoned creature.

The summoning contract that Yusuke had prepared wasn’t an equal contract. It was more like a master-servant contract. The master, of course, was Yusuke.

”Please! I’m about to die!”

The Shinigami let out another painful roar. Its body had shrunk even more.

Yusuke quickly unrolled the summoning scroll, signed his name on it, and pressed his thumbprint on the seal.

Yusuke was also very anxious. Once he signed a summoning contract with the Shinigami, it would become his power. Every bit of power it consumed would be his loss.

Seeing that Yusuke was finally ready, the Shinigami quickly split off a strand of its soul and injected it into the sealing array on the summoning scroll. The sealing array on the summoning scroll lit up.

After confirming that the summoning contract had taken effect, Yusuke immediately used Ryūjin Jakka to extinguish all the flames that were engulfing the Shinigami.

The Shinigami had lost a large amount of soul power. Its original body, which was about five people tall, was now only about two people tall.

After Yusuke dealt with the Shinigami, Hidan, who was standing beside him, was also dumbfounded.

He hadn’t expected that Yusuke would defeat such a terrifying monster as the Shinigami and even sign a summoning contract with it.

”What kind of damn contract did I take? I’m actually fighting against something like this?”

Hidan couldn’t help but mourn for himself and Kisame, who had died in battle.

After examining the greatly shrunken Shinigami, Yusuke breathed a sigh of relief.

Although it had lost a lot of soul power, the quality, or rather, the density of the Shinigami’s soul hadn’t decreased. This was why the Shinigami’s body had shrunk.

If the Shinigami had consumed such a huge amount of soul power and its body was still the same size, then the quality of its soul would have inevitably decreased.

As long as the quality of the soul remained unchanged, it wouldn’t affect Yusuke’s refinement of high-quality ”Yin Release Chakra Crystals.”

Under the Shinigami’s fearful expression, Yusuke cut off a piece of its soul and refined it into a ”Yin Release Chakra Crystal” on the spot.

Looking at the translucent blue crystal in his hand, radiating pure soul power, Yusuke nodded with satisfaction, ”All that’s left is to find two tailed beasts!”
