Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 90: NZNT: Chapter 90

After discovering the Kumogakure team heading towards them, Itachi used his phantom crow, flying high in the air, to observe their movements.

A glint of killing intent flashed in his eyes, and Itachi didn’t hesitate to lead his team towards them. He had a hunch that this Kumogakure team was targeting him.

At this time, Itachi had successfully fused his father, Fugaku’s, Mangekyō Sharingan. With the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, he was confident in defeating any enemy!

Previously, after Kumogakure’s forces had clashed with him, there were still a few Kumogakure ninjas who survived. It wasn’t that he couldn’t kill them. He simply hadn’t used his Mangekyō Sharingan as a trump card.

A few minutes later, the two ninja teams from Konoha and Kumogakure finally met. Both sides saw the full picture of the other team.

The Kumogakure team had about forty people, slightly more than the Konoha side. In terms of elite status, both sides were about the same.

However, the Konoha side was mostly composed of elite Uchiha clan members, who had the innate advantage of the Sharingan kekkei genkai. They were slightly superior in terms of individual abilities.

Looking at the two leaders of the Kumogakure team, Itachi quickly recalled the information about them in his mind: Kumogakure’s strategist, Dodai, and the Two-Tails jinchūriki, Yugito Nii.

Looking at the tall, thin woman with long, beige hair tied in a long braid, Itachi quickly commanded, ”The leader of the other side is the Two-Tails jinchūriki and Dodai. I’ll take on the Two-Tails jinchūriki. Izumi will deal with Dodai.”

”Everyone else, be careful. The other members are also elites. They’re not easy to deal with!”

Hearing Itachi’s words, all the members of the Konoha vanguard except Izumi were stunned. They hadn’t expected their captain to dare to directly confront the jinchūriki without choosing to retreat.

However, they were all elite ninjas from Konoha. Although they were very worried, they still perfectly executed Itachi’s orders and met the Kumogakure ninjas closest to them.

Soon, the two teams, moving quickly towards each other, collided. The ninjas on both sides immediately engaged in a fierce battle.

”Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!”

Facing Yugito Nii, Itachi quickly performed a jutsu to disrupt her movements, spitting out a large amount of high-temperature flames.

Yugito Nii remained expressionless. Her gaze towards Itachi was arrogant. It was clear that she didn’t take this young boy seriously.

”Fire Release!”

Yugito Nii opened her mouth, and a deep blue chakra flame ball in the shape of a rat broke through Itachi’s ”Great Fireball Technique,” splitting the flames in two. Yugito Nii then followed the ”Fire Release,” passing through the flames and continuing to attack Itachi.

Itachi had a kunai in his hand, while Yugito Nii’s hands had transformed into long claws. They passed each other, completing a clash.

Seeing that the Konoha boy named Uchiha Itachi was looking at the kunai that had been cut in two by her claws, Yugito Nii thought that he was worried about how to deal with her ”Cat Claw.” But what she didn’t expect was that Itachi was actually thinking about how to capture her without fail!

Before they set out, his teacher, Yusuke, had already instructed him to try to capture the Kumogakure jinchūriki alive if he encountered them.

Yusuke had already told Itachi about the positive and negative ”Two World Seals.” Itachi also knew that the tailed beasts were very important to him and his teacher.

If Itachi had encountered Yugito Nii one-on-one, he wouldn’t have had to think too much. He could have simply used ”Tsukuyomi” on her first.

After upgrading to the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, ”Tsukuyomi” still consumed a lot of Itachi’s chakra, but it no longer caused him the same severe discomfort. Therefore, after using ”Tsukuyomi,” Itachi still retained most of his fighting strength.

However, someone who had been hit by ”Tsukuyomi” wouldn’t necessarily collapse immediately. If the victim had enough willpower and mental strength, they could temporarily endure the damage from this mental attack and still have the chance to resist or escape, just like Danzō.

As for his teacher, Yusuke, who had only felt a little tired after experimenting with the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan ”Tsukuyomi,” Itachi no longer considered him within the realm of normal humans. Yusuke, who had cultivated his soul power, was probably the person with the strongest will in the Naruto world.

Thinking quickly, Itachi decided to lure Yugito Nii to the side first, separating her from her teammates. Then, he would quickly subdue her, preventing her from escaping or being aided by her other teammates.

While Itachi was fighting Yugito Nii and secretly luring her to the edge of the battlefield, Izumi and the captain of the Kumogakure team, Dodai, were fighting.

The Land of Lightning had a strong martial arts culture. Most people learned swordsmanship from a young age. Therefore, many ninjas from Kumogakure also used katanas as weapons. Although Dodai was most skilled in Lava Release jutsu, he was also very proficient in swordsmanship.

In terms of combat experience, Izumi was clearly far less experienced than Dodai. But relying on her extremely sharp katana, ”Senbonzakura,” and the ”Genryu” swordsmanship she had learned from Yusuke, which used chakra to simulate Reiatsu, Izumi actually had the upper hand and was suppressing Dodai.

With a series of dazzling pink sword flashes, Dodai could only dodge constantly. He couldn’t even block her attacks.

Because of his excellent observation skills, Dodai knew that his ordinary katana couldn’t withstand the blows of her weapon. If their weapons clashed, his weapon would be destroyed. This was the biggest reason why Izumi had the upper hand.

However, although Dodai was at a disadvantage, he was secretly looking for Izumi’s weakness to create an opportunity to strike a decisive blow.

”Intelligence says that this little girl is the commander’s sister and disciple. The fact that he could train a girl this young to such a level shows that the commander must be incredibly powerful.”

Looking at the lovely girl in front of him, who still had a little baby fat on her face, Dodai secretly admired her. But he also had a strategy to deal with her.

”Lava Release: Protective Membrane Wall!”

Dodai, who was dodging Izumi’s attacks, suddenly opened his mouth and spat out a large amount of yellow, viscous substance towards Izumi.

After solidifying, this viscous substance was like rubber. It had excellent extensibility and resistance to impact. Even sharp swords couldn’t easily break through the defensive wall formed by this substance.

But Izumi didn’t seem to care about this membrane wall. Although she felt a little disgusted, she didn’t hesitate to slash through the membrane wall with her sword. Then, she quickly slashed at Dodai, who was looking at her in shock.

In an instant, Dodai was cut in half vertically by the sharp pink blade in Izumi’s hand. The look of disbelief on his face froze.
