Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Contact the headquarters!”

Walter’s voice rang in his ears, as clouds of explosions emerged around him. Sequence Number 89 forced his eyes open and activated the tactical computer on his wrist.

During high-speed movement, still in a bizarre position as if tucked under someone’s arm, the difficulty of this action for Sequence Number 89 was not to be underestimated. However, the effort might not yield any returns.

Seeing the constantly spinning waiting icon on the tactical computer, Sequence Number 89’s heart sank.

”It’s over, the signal source is blocked, communication with the outside is cut off, this is an ambush, Captain!”

”This is not an ambush.”

Walter’s voice remained as calm as ever: ”This is the battle we must face!”

...

”Missing?”

”Just missing. All members of Walter’s squad are completely out of contact, we don’t know what they encountered, we don’t even know if they are alive or dead.”

Fran held his forehead at this moment, clearly deeply troubled by this unexpected situation.

Walter, in the military, was considered a special entity himself—being Sequence Number 3, after joining the military, his strength grew increasingly with the support of military resources, and the gap in strength with lower sequences widened evermore. To say who is the strongest under Tang Haofei and Wen Yu now, it’s undoubtedly Walter.

Moreover, the most crucial thing is Walter is absolutely loyal to Lin Haifeng, he is also the biggest card Lin Haifeng can play now. Although the military had prepared for heavy casualties before the battle began, the news of Walter’s squad missing still felt like a sledgehammer, making Fran’s head ache.

”What about the Sky Eye System? Didn’t the Sky Eye System detect what happened inside?”

Fran shook his head: ”All signals are cut off, all perception means are cut off, no system is functioning properly, Walter’s squad did not transmit any intelligence in the second before losing contact; their last location was at the mid-slope of Mount Kosciuszko, the rest we know nothing.”

This means the information warfare was lost...

Wen Yu lifted his head, his eyes seemed to penetrate the earth, staring intently at Mount Kosciuszko in the distance, until a voice sounded from behind: ”Wen Yu, try to save him.”

Wen Yu nodded slightly, then spoke a phrase that seemed like a deferral but wasn’t: ”I will let Cyclops and the others pay attention, yes, the specific situation, it still depends on Walter’s fortune.”

...

At the foot of Mount Kosciuszko, the Demon Tribe’s constructed defense line could be described as impregnable. Since ”Wen Yu” and Tang Haofei were pulled into the treasure land, a large number of high-level demon fiends surged out from Mount Kosciuszko, cooperating with the reinforcements from the nearby Demon Realm’s Gate, firmly locking down the entire Mount Kosciuszko. Apart from a few elite squads with strong strength and good luck, the rest cannot cross the line.

And here, is the main battlefield of the war at this stage!

”Cannons! Where are the cannons? Blow that bunker up front for me!”

”Air support, bomber, helicopter, fighter plane, or drone, flying mutant beasts are fine too, just give us anything that can fly!”

”Where are the experts? The strong ones? Where are our Sequence-class experts on this side? Damn it, how do you expect us to defend without strong ones!”

Unlike previous war models, aside from a few legion-type professionists with similar professions that can mutually amplify, most professionists are more suited for small-scale battles, which makes the whole battle situation appear chaotic.

The roar of humans, the wild howls of demon fiends, the screeching of mutant beasts echoed across the sky and earth, and within this bloody and brutal battlefield known as a meat grinder, three tiny figures were merging into the tide of battle like small thieves, unable to stir up any waves.

In mini state, Cyclops was only the size of a small forearm, Star was a bit larger, but insignificant compared to the nearby mutant creatures that stretch over ten meters, let alone Luo Luo, who was now attached to an unmutated ant, perfectly hidden beneath Cyclops’ short hair, invisible to the naked eye.

Cyclops crawled forward on the battlefield like a thief, and Star followed suit. Their target...

”Cyclops brother, how far is it to Mount Kosciuszko?”

Luo Luo’s voice came from above.

”Very far, very far...”

Cyclops was also helpless. Although the mini state excelled in concealment, to remain hidden, he couldn’t use much power to boost speed. With the speed slowed, the time to complete the mission would inevitably be prolonged.

”Let’s fight our way in, fighting our way in should be faster.”

Star’s suggestion made Cyclops shake his head directly.

Ordinary demon fiends naturally couldn’t withstand the breakthrough of three soul pets, but can the demon fiends here be described as ordinary? Once discovered, with Limit Breakthrough Level demon fiends entangling endlessly, let alone completing the mission, he might only be able to let the boss pull the three pets back to the Soul Realm space by then.

The colossal feet of demon fiends and mutant beasts in front seemed like towering pillars jumping on Cyclops’ head, and one big foot kicked Cyclops, which made Cyclops annoyed. He opened his mouth and bit off a hoof of a bull demon, then suddenly enlarged his head and instantly swallowed the bull demon’s body whole.

”Burp~~”

A comfortable burp, and it didn’t attract any biological attention.

”The taste isn’t bad...”

Cyclops’ eyes spun around as he more carefully observed the chaotic surroundings, until Wen Yu’s urging voice echoed in his mind again, Cyclops then set aside his little thoughts of foraging, leading the two younger siblings deeper into the battlefield.

...

Over ten minutes later, when the three soul pets of Cyclops rushed out of the edge of the battlefield, Mount Kosciuszko was already in sight in the distance.

”Hoo~~”

Cyclops sighed in relief, then looked at the main battlefield still in chaos behind him, and began to prepare to complete the mission.

”Luo Luo, you go over there, find the squad led by Hao Yun, Star, you go over there, find the squad led by Bomber Man, I’ll go find Qin Tian and the others, after finding them, bring them here to rendezvous.”

”Received.”

”Received.”

Star and Luo Luo responded, then transformed into light and left, while Cyclops sensed for a moment, immediately detecting the direction of the mission objective.

Gather all squads that broke into the defense circle, bring them to Mount Kosciuszko to find Walter, and then enter the Dimensional Maze.

This was Wen Yu’s latest order to Cyclops.

”Must be Old Man Fran who’s stirring the pot, afraid of too much sequence loss, wanting me to act as a babysitter...”

Cyclops mutteringly revealed the truth of the matter, then looked towards the distance.

There, in Cyclops’ perception, Sword Light rose wantonly, while four familiar auras were clearly detectable, undoubtedly Qin Tian and the others.
