Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The Mountain Kui had grown much larger than it was three days ago. After taking down the Demon Fiends in Battle Zone Africa and harvesting a vast amount of Creation Energy, the Mountain Kui naturally became one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Right now, Tang Haofei was standing at the Mountain Kui’s feet, looking up at the towering mountain. Although he’d seen the Mountain Kui in action on surveillance video, being this close yet unable to sense the slightest trace of life was, for him, a rather novel experience.

”Nice, really nice. This big guy’s strength shouldn’t be bad, right.”

Tang Haofei smacked his lips with feeling, clearly having a strong liking for this kind of tall, massive, pure-strength-type brute.

Wen Yu merely smiled without saying anything. He casually sent out a Spiritual Fluctuation toward the Mountain Kui, and the Mountain Kui immediately opened up the passage leading into its body. Tang Haofei didn’t even think to suspect Wen Yu might have done something inside, set up some trap or whatever, and stepped decisively into the mountain’s belly.

...

”Up ahead is my Soul Experiment Lab, used specifically for researching the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.”

”The passage on the right is my bedroom, the one on the left is the guest room. Mm, I specifically left that one for you. If you want to stay here a couple days, you can stay there. I’ve already tidied it up for you. The space is big, and most importantly, the soundproofing is great.”

”If you need anything, just shout. Once the Mountain Kui hears you, it’ll respond immediately.”

”Like a caretaker?”

”Mm, the Mountain Kui does basically count as my caretaker right now. Very convenient.”

”What a waste...”

Tang Haofei muttered under his breath, nobody knew what he was thinking. After a long moment, he suddenly asked Wen Yu a question out of nowhere.

”So, I want a Weapon. Can you help me add an Artifact Spirit or something to it?”

Artifact Spirit...

Although the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill could indeed attach Souls to Weapons and such, and overall it really did come out similar to something like an Artifact Spirit, hearing this come out of Tang Haofei’s mouth still made Wen Yu feel a bit like he’d wandered into the wrong genre.

”I can, sure, but that thing will be forcibly obedient to me. You dare use it?”

”Why wouldn’t I dare!”

Tang Haofei spoke with bold righteousness. Wen Yu curled his lip and didn’t say more, and Tang Haofei very tactfully filtered out the topic on his own, no longer bringing up Artifact Spirits and the like.

”But seriously, this Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill is really useful. Thinking about it now, since you can turn a whole mountain into a puppet, then couldn’t you turn an ocean, a jungle, a desert into puppets? Or let’s go bigger—could you turn Earth itself into a puppet?”

Tang Haofei’s chatterbox trait flared up again; he muttered non-stop behind Wen Yu. Wen Yu didn’t directly answer, just smiled and shook his head.

He had, of course, thought about these questions. The main problem was still that there wasn’t enough Creation Energy. Once there was enough Creation Energy, whether these things could be done or not...

You tell me?

...

They walked through the winding tunnels inside the mountain. Only after they’d basically toured the Mountain Kui’s insides did Wen Yu finally escort Tang Haofei and his harem group to the guest rooms.

The Mountain Kui brought over tea and snacks for Tang Haofei and the others. Wen Yu then chatted with Tang Haofei about some meaningless topics for a while, and afterward used the excuse of an unfinished experiment to take his leave first. Tang Haofei didn’t try very hard to keep him.

After leaving the guest room, Wen Yu turned back to the Soul Experiment Lab. While using the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill to create a few skills below C-Class, he also initiated a spiritual link with the Mountain Kui, carefully monitoring Tang Haofei’s every move.

After a while, a full-on porno scene played out before Wen Yu’s eyes. Seeing this, Wen Yu decisively ordered the Mountain Kui to maintain surveillance while he cut off his Spiritual Fluctuation link with it.

This time, Tang Haofei’s visit really didn’t seem to harbor any malice. The things he said, on the whole, were fairly sincere. In the short term, this visit of his indeed didn’t look like much of a threat. Even so, Wen Yu still couldn’t afford not to be on his guard.

And inside the Mountain Kui, Wen Yu could be certain that none of Tang Haofei’s actions could escape his sight.

Origin Extraction Device (Species-specific Esoteric Level item): a hollow conduit forged from living matter mixed with World Origin Heart Scraps, composed of three parts.

First is the power unit, which supports the Origin Extraction Device in one-directional movement and provides the power source for extracting Origin Energy.

Second is the conduit section, responsible for transporting the extracted Origin Energy.

Third is the obstruction-breaking structure at the tip, which is responsible for smashing through any surface obstacles encountered in the Origin Extraction Device’s forward progression.

Note 1: Due to the special material of the Origin Extraction Device, it itself possesses characteristics of a living being, and therefore can only cross between worlds once the Level 6 Level Lock has been broken.

Note 2: Because the Origin Extraction Device is extremely powerful and contains World Origin Heart Scraps from another world, it is highly likely to trigger a rejection response from the world it enters. Therefore, within the same world, it can only be used once. If used a second time, it is highly likely to stir the wrath of the invaded world and cause unknown consequences!

Note 3: Due to the special materials of the Origin Extraction Device, aside from the obstruction-breaking structure at the tip, the remaining parts possess no defense capabilities whatsoever. It is extremely easy to destroy by external force. Please place it in a safe environment and use with caution.

An ominous item capable of destroying the foundation of a world, but at the same time, it’s also a glass cannon with high attack and low defense!

Playing with the Origin Extraction Device in his hand—compressed by the Power of Space until it was as small as an embroidery needle—the Demon Spirit’s face was shrouded in layers of mist, with only his eyes faintly glowing red.

After a long stalemate and negotiation, and after Battle Zone Africa completely collapsed, this little thing had finally fallen into his hands.

He couldn’t really call it excitement, couldn’t call it agitation either. In fact, he couldn’t really say he felt any particular emotion at all. The Demon Spirit simply kept playing with this adorable little thing in his hand, while surge after surge of Creation Energy poured violently into the Origin Extraction Device.

This Wen Yu’s genuine ”Senior Brother” had a Skill System similar to Wen Yu’s, but his strength unquestionably surpassed Wen Yu’s by an entire tier. Now, as the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill was unleashed from the Demon Spirit’s hands, the Soul power it stirred up made the entire great hall tremble as if submerged in raging tides.

After a while, the Creation Energy subsided. Once the modifications to the Origin Extraction Device were complete, the Demon Spirit sensed the information condensed within it and the additional Attribute that had emerged, and couldn’t help letting out a hearty, unrestrained laugh.

Just then, from outside the great hall, a voice reached the Demon Spirit’s ears.

”Master, the army is ready. The Boundary Cracking Device can be activated at any time. The Dimensional Maze has been set up, and Secret Child Number 9 is already in position. Preparations for the Origin Extraction Device’s descent are complete.”

”Got it.”

A lazy voice rang out, but it still carried hints of a certain excited, thrilled undertone.
