Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The gently blowing wind and the sweet air.

Everything on Earth that once fascinated Koray...

But that was in the past.

Now, Earth to Koray is no different than Hell!

Because behind him, two soul pets from Sequence Number 2—the big dog and the weirdo that looks just like Sequence Number 1—are relentlessly chasing him!

The big dog is easy enough to handle, Koray knows all its skills perfectly well, as long as Ultra Mortal Combat isn’t triggered; he can fight or escape with just a thought.

But that fake ”Sequence Number 1”...

It completely exceeds Koray’s ability to handle it!

Even though Koray knows all of Sequence Number 1’s skills by heart, the physical disparity still makes Koray feel incredibly vulnerable when facing Faceless.

Quietly crouched in a puddle of foul-smelling mud, the pungent odor constantly flows into his mouth and nose, yet it doesn’t interfere with Koray’s ability to make judgments even a bit.

The current situation is extremely precarious for Koray!

While Wen Yu’s actions have yet to unfold, Koray had already headed to the Dimensional Maze to check once again on the defenses and the status of the Boundary Cracking Device in the East African Rift Valley—a crucial job for the commander of Battle Zone Africa.

And this sort of job, Koray had done countless times before, so naturally, he was quite skilled at it.

However, just a few hours after Koray reached the Dimensional Maze, an unexpected attack message came from the outside.

The first message came from Siegle, who led the team that ambushed Akad. The message had only a few brief words: ”Mission failed, Sequence Number 2 took action...”

Before even finishing the sentence, it was interrupted by overwhelming shouts and explosions.

Upon hearing these words, Koray’s heart couldn’t help but twitch, and before he could even sort out the complex situation, news of attacks on Battle Zone Africa started pouring into his hands incessantly!

Hilgru Assembly Site attacked.

Nauru Assembly Site attacked.

One message after another made Koray’s eyes see stars, his brain feeling like a muddled mess, until the attack message from the Central Operations Command Center came through; only then did Koray gather his thoughts, while a single thought emerged in his mind.

”Battle Zone Africa is done for...”

As for punishment—Koray could already imagine Legas’s fury; as the saying goes, three strikes and you’re out. Following the collapse of Battle Zone Yanjing and Battle Zone India, another breakdown in Battle Zone Africa must make Legas’s face a sight to behold!

Upholding the responsibility of being the Chief Commanding Officer of Battle Zone Africa, Koray decisively prepared to minimize losses amidst the collapse.

The Boundary Cracking Device mustn’t be lost! As the only strategic weapon enabling lifeforms from the outside world to enter the Demon Realm, Koray had to safeguard the Boundary Cracking Device.

However, the installation and dismantling work of the Boundary Cracking Device is complex, a process that consumes much of Koray’s time and, before he could finish his preparations, he encountered Cyclops and Bai.

Thus, the ensuing situation was beyond Koray’s control.

...

Koray, lying still in the mud, listened carefully to the surroundings while continuously devising his escape plan.

The quickest escape method, of course, is through the Demon Realm’s Gate for a reverse crossover—currently, the comprehensive reverse crossover teleportation has not been activated, but Koray, given his status, naturally has a teleportation token of his own.

However, Koray, merely a Level 6 demon fiend, even though he appears high-ranking, is ultimately a minor character in the Demon Realm and cannot obtain a higher-level token. The token he holds now corresponds only to the lowest-level Demon Realm’s Gate—at the one nearest to the New Hope Assembly Place.

In other words, Koray has only two paths before him—one is to wait for the comprehensive reverse teleportation activation, pass through a Demon Realm’s Gate at random to return to the Demon Realm, escaping with his life. The other is to head to the Demon Realm’s Gate near the Central Operations Command Center and leave directly via the token.

The pursuers behind him relentlessly give chase, and in such a situation, Koray’s choice is self-evident...

In fact, within just a day, despite the pursuit, Koray is already halfway through this journey.

Ahead, the ruins of the Central Operations Command Center are visible to the naked eye, which means the path to survival is close at hand!

Muddy Koray slowly squinted his eyes, his perception ability radiating outward to detect the enemy’s presence—the situation exceeded expectations, with the use of numerous tools, he temporarily shook off the chase from the two soul pets.

Seeing this, Koray immediately activated his ability, his entire figure slowly transforming into bits of gentle wind, quietly drifting away into the distance.

...

The wind blew across the battlefield ruins, raising whirlwinds, resembling the gentle breeze of nature, as the puppet battalion cleaning the battlefield and transporting demon beast corpses at the Demon Clan Central Command paid no attention to this peculiar wind—speaking of Koray’s combat skills, let alone this concealment ability, it truly is exceptional!

And that’s precisely why Wen Yu wants to capture Koray!

A faint breeze blew across the Demon Clan Central Command, and with his perception ability, Koray clearly probed the horrific situation within—corpses piled up everywhere, various levels of demon tribe members stacked high like pigs about to be slaughtered, the black blood solidified into pasty pools, muddying the entire Central Command as if it were a swamp, even saw a three-meter-tall Stone stomping down, driving most of its leg into the ground!

Such a sight made Koray’s eyes twitch.

Perhaps Koray isn’t a powerful warrior, but he’s definitely a qualified commander, with merely a glance, Koray already roughly estimated the casualties of the Central Command’s stationed army—complete decimation.

Thinking of the infuriated face of Legas upon return, Koray felt bitter, accelerating his pace towards the target location.

However, in the next second, a ray of lightning spread from the sky, then thunder flashed, a giant lightning bolt directly exploded where Koray, transformed into wind, was.

Momentary numbness, before Koray regained mastery over his body, a shadow swiftly rushed before his eyes.

”Solidify!”

The child-like sharp voice issued from Faceless’s mouth, the space around Koray visibly stiffened, within which Koray could not move at all under the power of the True Words Techinique.

Faceless’s lips slowly curled into a relieved smile, gazing at this completely frozen space, sensing the familiar aura inside, and slowly said: ”I’ve been waiting for you for a long time, why are you only arriving now...”

As if complaining, the words made Koray’s heart sink completely, just before he could think of struggling, an even more violent lightning emitted from Faceless, directly striking Koray.

No pain was felt, Koray only felt his vision black out, then completely lost consciousness.
